I have to say, as good deaths go, old Maggie didn't do badly - lying in bed in The Ritz, reading a book. Smile

bigTillyMint · 12/04/2013 00:46

MrsS so sorry to hear about your aunt. And Sad for her DH.

hattymattie · 12/04/2013 06:21

Sad Mrs S.

beachyhead · 12/04/2013 09:00

Sorry to hear your news Mrs S.. At home and peaceful is the way to go. My mother did that, peacefully at home, windows open in the middle of summer.

Everyone deserves a good death.

alto1 · 12/04/2013 19:54

MrsS, sorry to hear of the loss of your aunt. I think it's a credit to her (and her husband) that they could have a shattering row when they both knew she was dying. Better surely, than being false and inhibited with each other. That would be like being half dead before you go.

Blackduck · 13/04/2013 05:54

MrsS sorry to hear about your aunt.

Stropps what were you doing in Borneo for 2 years?

Here the sun is out, the sky blue, the sea bloody freezing and there are goats, lots of them, everywhere....but no goat on the menu...

Nappies for dogs? Hmm

Am going to have to go and find something suitable to wear for DD2 for the funeral. DD1 is OK as she has her "concert dress." DD2 does not enjoy shopping at the best of times. I am thinking leggings and a tunicky thing of some description in a sort of muted colour. I think she has a reasonably smart grey/blue jacket somewhere, so maybe we can build on that.

Feel out of touch...

BD, I knew you were off on hols but where are you? Are the goats in the trees? (because they do that you know!)
Ruby, dog nappies? Why? Why?

Mrs S. Very sorry to read about your aunt.

Can't believe the sky here in London is blue today, with currently no signs of rain or snow. On an s and b note I might try not wearing a jumper and winter coat or is that going too far?

DS1 still revising frantically (and to my mind impressively since he hasn't inherited this level of application and focus from me, the queen of procrastination, oh no). DS2 polishing his loafing and PS3 skills. All well.

I'd like you to know how zeitgeisty(?) I am. On hearing of the demise of Thatcher I sang "Ding Dong the witch is dead". Spooky. Can't believe all the bloody fuss and carry on.

motherinferior · 13/04/2013 10:23

MrsS, d'you need me to nip to H&M for you or something? Or do you want to order anything off the website to be delivered here?

In other news, yet another agent has rejected my book.

QQ, I sang Stand Down Margaret Grin

QueenQueenie · 13/04/2013 10:37

Tried to namechange to "Queen of Procrastination"... but it was taken Grin

bigTillyMint · 13/04/2013 10:52

Queenie, are you mad? It's bloody freeeeezing here in London!

I can't believe all the fuss about her either - and that's just half an hour of BBC news whilst I was in the gym (bloody hard work after nearly 3 weeks of doing bugger all) - jet-lag hit us all and we were all up at 7am this morning!!!

In other news, DS's footy boots have gone missing. This is a major calamity. He had to wear DH's for training this morningShock

motherinferior · 13/04/2013 10:57

I have removed one layer of winter vest

QueenQueenie · 13/04/2013 11:04

you don't sew yourself into them then 'til the end of May then MI?

herbaceous · 13/04/2013 11:16

I am not wearing thermals! And haven't done so for the past few days! I'm about to undertake some 'gardening', so we'll see how that goes.

Just saw off some Jehovah's Witnesses on the doorstep. She asked me what I believe, and I said: "I don't believe in anything. We're here purely by chance, and we have to make the most of it until we die. After that there's nothing."

She looked a bit blank, and said: "That's not what the bible says."

Me: "I don't care what the bible says. It was written in the dark ages when we knew nothing about anything."

She left!

motherinferior · 13/04/2013 11:27

I only said one layer, QQ.

Am looking online while supposed to be writing a feature for a Naice Dress to wear to my birthday party. Something fetching, possibly black or purple, which shows my cleavage assets to best advantage...

I could just go for something like this...?

QueenQueenie · 13/04/2013 12:50

that's really rather nice MI, but you might want to stand out in something brighter when you're the star of the show / birthday girl?

motherinferior · 13/04/2013 12:54

Or I liked this...

bigTillyMint · 13/04/2013 13:13

Herbs, it's hoaching with Jeehovah's here! Neighbours and their merry squad. I just point at the church and tell them it's our place of worship though only on Christmas Day now Blush

Love both the dresses, especially the silvery one, and the names are very crepeyfiedGrin

beachyhead · 13/04/2013 13:17

Love that herbs....perfect answer for the JW's

It's tipping down here in Sussex...am soaked again.
