Blimey apparently we are a clique... Never thought I'd be in a MN clique Hmm

Stropperella · 30/03/2013 08:52

Are we? Sez who? Grin

bigTillyMint · 30/03/2013 09:16

We made it! 36hours travelling - plane, train (sleeper) then lots of waiting round, 2 coaches and a minibus. Finally in a nice hotel and off to the poolSmile

My family sounds most like MrsS's - DH and I only ones in our families to go to uni (bar DM going to teacher training college) and DMIL falls out with her sisters and DFILs sisters on a regular basis.

I also had a cleaner who was good mates with the Krays (and son who was a tealeaf)!

Blackduck · 30/03/2013 09:17

Lag watch in the thread in site stuff on POs. they are discussing bullying and cliques. Pag mentions crepeys as a harmless clique Grin not sure whether to be offended or not
(Book two of Percy Jackson almost finished - rolls eyes)

Blackduck · 30/03/2013 09:18

Pagwatch (bloody autocorrect)

Blackduck · 30/03/2013 09:21

hattymattie · 30/03/2013 09:34

Just had to come on to say was discussion on R4 on Cremolafoam this morning and apparently two songs were written about its virtuesSmile.

Saw Masterchef Crem but didn't do thread as had to simultaneously converse with DH.

motherinferior · 30/03/2013 10:15

Harmless???

Blackduck · 30/03/2013 15:53

Is a bit Hitchhikers - could be worse I suppose.
I am :) as along with new loo seat, we have a (temporary) light shade in the dining room, and have got rid of the chest of drawers the previous owner kindly (not) left us....

MrsSchadenfreude · 30/03/2013 18:03

I have been to the effing shopping mall where M & S is three times today. First time, got there, went to post office, found I had forgotten my bank card, went home. Met friend for lunch, she is visiting from Belgium, so wanted to go to M & S. Went back there after lunch. Got home, DD1 said she had been looking at M & S online and wanted to get some jeggings, so went back there. As well as bright pink jeggings, also got her a black dress for her concert (she is in string ensemble) and a couple of T shirts. Picked up some sports bras for DD2 (which thankfully fit, although she is deeply unimpressed with them) and got a free Percy Pig easter chocolate thing (it is pink - will it taste like Pink Panther bars, which you must all remember as you are old enough?). Meant to go to parapharmacy, forgot and came home, and DD1 has just reminded me that we needed Lipikar cream as we are completely out. Not going out again.

Have friends coming round tomorrow night for laaamb, and am going to make Working Class Trifle for pudding.

MrsSchadenfreude · 30/03/2013 18:25

Oh and an update on the school play/musical! The teacher asked to see DD1 yesterday after school. DD1 didn't want to see her, but I said she should see how upset she was. I suggested to DD1 that she remain silent and let the teacher dig herself into a hole explain. She did just this, and listened to all the guff about DD1 being "such a good all rounder that she wanted her to have a special part written just for her." When the teacher had finished, DD1 politely asked if she could see the script, to see what she was supposed to do in this part. Teacher "didn't have the script with her." Hmm Bet she is spending her Easter weekend writing this special part!

hattymattie · 30/03/2013 19:18

M&S Levallois profits must have had an extra boost today Mrs S. Last time I was there, got in an argument with a disgruntled Frenchwoman who was married to an Englishman and living in London. She said everything was better in France and she was back visiting (the irony of her being in M&S in France seemed to have escaped her). I said I would prefer UK schools with nice teachers. She said UK schools were very tough and intensive and gave as an example ... St Pauls - very representative!

BTM - I usually need about 2 days to recover from a journey like that. Have fun.

It's almost disappointing to be considered a "harmless" clique.

MrsSchadenfreude · 30/03/2013 19:22

Harmless? Pffffff.

MrsSchadenfreude · 30/03/2013 19:24

I see we are all avoiding the "bunny smileys". Is this because we are old? Grin

DD1 has told me that the short story competition she is entering has a deadline of tomorrow night. The story is ready, but the guidelines on how it needs to be set out need an MSc to understand. Why? For a children's short story competition? Confused

Cremolafoam · 30/03/2013 19:27

Lol at madame la professeur menteur. Quel biatch. Delighted your clever dd asked her for the lines!
Bet she's shitting herself . Easter ruined.Shock

We are a clique?Shock
A harmless clique.
It makes me come over all political and ranty . Stropps can I borrow your docs?

BTM hope it going well in Thai land.
Have a prawn money bag or two for meGrin

Old dogs, new tricks and all that, but just for you Mrs S [busmile],[bugrin][buwink]

hattymattie · 30/03/2013 19:33

I'm now sniggering at the thought of a clique of crepeys in docs putting the boot in.

beachyhead · 30/03/2013 19:41

[bugrin] [bugrin] [bugrin]

Lovely teeth......

Feeling rather frail today after friends came over last night......We started Wine too early.

I'm not feeling Easterly inspired and tonight I need to write clues for the Easter egg hunt, which is always a challenge. Long limericks that lead to certain trees, sheds etc...Smile

God, the drama over the school play. That's a nightmare, Mrs S... Is she writing in the others who have resigned too? It's going to be of epic length.

Cremolafoam · 30/03/2013 21:01

I couldn't really understand the thrust of that professionally offended thread . I also read another one about the PO thread and protesting about it. I got so confused I had a hot flush and had to go and stand in the snowy front garden for a minute.

In S&b news;

I have bought new makeup
Had a particularly bad day on Thursday and looked in the mirror at about 6pm. I looked raw, nay flayed and decrepit . Big fat rosy broken veined arse-slapped horrid .

So I have got
A) a Liz Earle soft cloth wash doodah
B) L'Oreal Lumi Magique ' pure light primer'
C) Bourjois healthy mix gel foundation( unlike me ,promising to last 16 hours)
D) a Nars pinky beige lip colour as recommended to be ultra flattering on several blogs I have had occasion to browse .
E) a brown mascara which is also allegedly less dead spidery looking than black
F) some This Works no wrinkle serum

As you can see I am waging a war.
I am getting the mop cut on Wednesday before dd and I make the trek to Cambridge .

I'm not holding out much hope for instant beauty tbh.Confused

I looked in the mirror in the changing room at M & S and this enormously fat old lady was staring back at me. Sad

Cremolafoam · 30/03/2013 21:26

The real horror is my mother looks sprightly glamorous rested and groomed AT ALL TIMES. I am in awe. There's a lot to be said for being a SAHM in the beauty stakes. I now look like I have physically absorbed all my clients ishoos like a big woman-sponge .Confused

At a party last night, some tasteful gay men asked whether my dress was Diane Von furstenburg. Reader, it was sainsburys.

I got home from that party at 2am, having drunk wine from 4pm. Up at 7am. Needless to say, today has been a trial.

Oh Herbs. I feel for youWinkfull fat coke???

Ruby- excellent excellent advice! That's great.! Thinking given the distance ( looked on streetview)
We will get an autobus up to Emmanuel st station. If it was a lovely summer's day I might be tempted to walk, but I'm too crepey at the moment( weather averse)Grin
It transpires we've to go to the Downing site first so that's pretty close, so the Emmanuel Street suggestion sounds a goerGrin
Thankyou so much Ruby. I am always better with A PlanSmile Thanks
