I have been to restaurant to collect bag of crap I left there last night - fortunately it was, ahem, a restaurant where I am quite well known Blush "Ah madame, vous avez oublie votre sac encore une fois!" Which is unfair, I feel as it was my coat last time and not my bag.

I am reporting back on the Filorga anti ageing "absolute" serum and BB cream: having cleansed with the Bioderma Eau Micellaire (coming to UK next month, I believe, it is the holy grail of cleansers - I alternate between this and Cetaphil), applied the serum last night, I did the same this morning and plonked the BB cream on top. Definitely looking a bit smoother round the eyes, and I like the BB cream, although it was twice the price of the La Roche Posay one, which I also like. I hope I am not getting a Filorga habit, as it will be expensive to keep up.

Blackduck · 23/03/2013 13:21

MrsS :) :) exactly!!

My ginger cake smells Devine, I may just slaver it in cream and scoff the lot.....

So crepeys anyone been to kefalonia?

Blackduck · 23/03/2013 13:21

Divine fgs...

Cremolafoam · 23/03/2013 13:23

Grin Mrs S. dh is vair flattered .
Unfortunately I am in the doghouse as
A I let the wind catch the car door and it is dented
B overloaded the fire with logs and it has tumbled and burnt two holes in the rug.
I am a bit teary< stress> and dh hates that sort of thing.
I fear my courage against the elements is waning Confused

OP posts:
Cremolafoam · 23/03/2013 13:26

Yes have been to Kefalonia. But an awful long time ago. I was there for my 18th birthday on an Interrailing trip. So not helpful really. It is beautiful as I recall. Slept on a starlit beach< sighs romantically >

Aww, Crem, you are so lucky to have a Milk Tray Man husband. Grin

We have no snow at all, not even one flake. Just rain, rain and more rain.

I only found out this morning when listening to the radio what actual "Cremola foam" is/was.

motherinferior · 23/03/2013 13:29

I am on to the one really crap piece of work I did. Which is principally crap because it is a summary of a study which is totally impenetrable. I cannot understand a word of it.

Stropperella · 23/03/2013 13:29

Soz, x-posts Crem. Hope your power is back on soon and your spirits are restored. Time for a calming Wine?

Cremolafoam · 23/03/2013 13:30

Hattie we are here

Stropperella · 23/03/2013 13:32

Ahh, MI, poor you. Dh is working on a job a bit like that at the moment. It is driving him a bit mad.

MrsSchadenfreude · 23/03/2013 13:42

Ugh, sympathies, MI.

Cremolafoam · 23/03/2013 13:54

MI courage! I'm sure it's not half as bad as you think.

I had planned to do a salad for lunch, but thought, sod that, and made eggy bread with bacon and maple syrup. You can't have too many carbs in this miserable weather.

Gwynnie, you can stick that up your well-toned jacksy. Wink

motherinferior · 23/03/2013 14:47

I've sent my revised text off.

Thing is I'm now so used to working at weekends I'm at a bit of a loose end Grin I should do some singing practice now...

bigTillyMint · 23/03/2013 15:09

CVShock I thought you were a nocarb-locarb afficionado?!

MI, you need a coffee and cake meetup planned for the weekendWink

Hattie, will the Gulf Stream just stop? Why?

hattymattie · 23/03/2013 15:20

Goodness Crem - I'd better contact my friend over there and see how she is. Am very jealous of Milk Tray man though. He must be due for a comeback.

BTM - I watched a programme on Gulf Stream years ago and as far as I can remember it was something to do with the Greenland ice cap melting and disturbing the ocean currents. So it was related to global warming except I do remember them saying that London is the same latitude as Montréal but didn't have the same climate because of the Gulf Stream. I think the film 24 Hours after was an extreme (I hope very fictionalised) version of this theory.

wilbur · 23/03/2013 16:23

Am sitting trying to wrestling with new accounting software after old one died, taking year of data with it Angry. Have got Cliff Richard movie on in background (he is just singing The Young Ones to his girl Smile). Brain not working - totally fed up trying to stretch £ to cover bills totalling £££. I am usually good at this stuff, but extended winter and gas bills for uninsulated house are playing havoc with budgeting. Growing ds1 and his giant feet not helping either. Still have just found 5th former at his school who will hand down old uniform, so that's very handy. Just need to find similar for dd - she used to get lovely stuff from her cousin, but since my sister stopped speaking to me the hand-me-downs stopped too. Think I miss the clothes more than I miss my sister, tbh Grin. Not my niece though, who I miss enormously.

MI - hope you get work done in the end - I have minutes of a v dull charitable trust meeting to finish writing up but am going to leave until tomorrow. [procrastination emoticon]

Crem - so sorry it's all getting a bit much, think you have been amazingly stoic so far. Glad you got dd home eventually. Sending you all a virtual thermos of delicious soup.

Interested in MrsS's beauty product trials - I bought some new (French) night cream in USA which is marvellous, but too costly for long term use, and also I think I need something brightening as I am looking very grey with ghosts of blemishes all over. Chin is especially grubby. Maybe I need a hefty facial and a better cleansing routine. Either that or someone to have a go at my face with an orbital sander.

I am usually a low-carber, BTM, but every now and then I succumb to the lure of an almond croissant and fall off the wagon. It's usually at the weekend.

DH and I have just had a stressful 30 minutes wrestling with a can of expanding foam, as you do (we finally got round to tackling the gaping gap above the kitchen window left after the recent addition of lintels). Not as easy as it looks, but we survived with our marriage intact. Once the foam goes hard we will cut off the excess (of which there is a large quantity, hanging in giant green gobs from the top of the window frame), then fill, sand and paint. That's the theory, anyway. Hmm

Oh Rubes I'm ok. Trying not to feel wibbly .Still no heating or light. Dh is trying to get his petrol generator going with our neighbour. Wind picking up and electric cable is sparking. May have to call the fire brigade if they can even get here.
Not really funny any more.

Dd has finally woken up, looked out and said 'meh' eaten a bagel and gone back to bed with a pile of history books about the Cold War . Very apt I'm thinking.
Fighting my own cold bloody war.

Have made a giant pot of spaghetti Bol . Have had to dump freezer contents as it has now been off for 21 hours and all has melted.bleurghConfused

Yes ruby we are going to Cambridge at the start of April with dd. arriving by train from Stansted . Could you suggest somewhere naice for an early lunch in town ?
We are heading to Kings coll afterward.

Oh Cremo, it goes from bad to worse. {{{{hugs}}}}

I have had a haircut, after which there was enough hair on the floor to make a decent wig. I still have a full head of extremely thick hairConfused

motherinferior · 23/03/2013 18:08

Crem, how utterly grim. If I were you I too would get into bed with a hot water bottle and a bottle of warming red wine.

BTM, I too am off to partaaay. That's the theory anyway!

CointreauVersial · 23/03/2013 23:31

Aww, Crem, sounds grim. Hope things are better tomorrow.

We've had quite a convivial evening. DS's oldest mate (the one whose family we go on holiday with regularly) is here for a sleepover, and the boys uncharacteristically switched off the XBox and joined us around the table for card games and a very riotous round of The Game of Life. I do love it when DS forgets he is a hulking, grunting teenager and lets his hair down for a while. He's quite lovely when he tries to be.

Now watching Rewind 2012 on Sky, and trying to spot ourselves in the crowd. That was a fun concert, but Christ, I had never been so hot; top-to-toe neon lycra is never a good idea in blistering August sunshine. Doctor And The Medics are on at the moment; the lead singer (and half of Cool & The Gang) turned up in our hotel bar later on.
