(It's not MrsS's butler, I think. It does sound....racy, in faintly Upstairs Downstairs way.)

MrsSchadenfreude · 23/03/2013 08:57

Sadly not my butler, Hattie!

MrsSchadenfreude · 23/03/2013 08:58

My employer's butler!

hattymattie · 23/03/2013 09:03

Grin - beginning to think I was much too common for this thread. Mind you - I don't think DH's employer has a butler. He does have a house with a pool though.

MI - yes even quaffing champagne with the bosses butler in the pantry sounds a bit Upstairs Downstairs. Mrs S - what an exciting life you do lead; Wink.

Hope you get your work sorted MI.

Blackduck · 23/03/2013 09:08

Wish I had started the day drinking champagne in the pantry with the butler :(
Dp has gone for provisions, it is chucking it down, I am hoping he makes it back Shock

MrsS I am stunned the freeloaders friends paid? Tell me it wasn't mucky D's please...

MrsSchadenfreude · 23/03/2013 09:11

The best thing I have ever tried for radiance and generally marvellously glowing skin is Guerlain Issima Midnight Secret. But it is beyond my price bracket.

Will report back on the Filorga stuff when I have put my lenses in. Grin

herbaceous · 23/03/2013 09:33

Hattie - boss's is correct. Unless there's more than one boss then it's bosses'. I think.

hattymattie · 23/03/2013 09:45

thanks herbs Smile - yup it's when the apostrophe's on the outside of the plural that I always have a second thought and wonder if it's correct.

CointreauVersial · 23/03/2013 09:48

I spoke too soon on the snow front; we have a good few cms here, and still coming down. Not enough to cause any major inconvenience, but I need to take DD1 to a rehearsal shortly, and will have to forego the direct country lane route in favour of the "long way round".

MrsS - you won't recognise yourself. Grin

bigTillyMint · 23/03/2013 09:50

MI, we are off to a paaartay tonight too! Even if the snow starts sticking!

MrsS - champagne with the butler, ooh err missus! We met a very nice butler (and his family - 2 sets of twinsShock) when camping, 2 years on the trot!

Off out for breakfast with a friend in my new ultra-warm knitted dressSmile

I think I need to get my boots on and go and find him.....

motherinferior · 23/03/2013 10:39

PMSL at the orchard.

Blackduck · 23/03/2013 10:53

He's back - a neighbour helped him and during the digging they have swapped careers and life stories :) we have milk and a laaaaaarge emergancy loaf. I am making curries for tonight.
We had a heart stopping high gas bill yesterday (was only 10 days shy of four months however), but sodit, heating on, snow continues..

Cremolafoam · 23/03/2013 11:33

News From The Apocalypse
We are still without power
Real drama here! We couldn't get to school because of snow drifts- completely snowed in. ( imagine us in blizzard trying to dig car out at 2.30am) another parent got Dd as far as fallen tree and dh skied ( yes skied) down to get her.( about 1 mile) No power here since last night. On and off all day yesterday. Freezing.
Awaiting rescue from snowplough Grin

Bd - keep cosy

Mrs S- lol @ butler in the pantry

It is MID BLOODY MARCH.

Just saying.

Cremolafoam · 23/03/2013 11:49

IT IS allegedly THE EASTER HOLS.
When you get the BBQ outGrin

OP posts:
bigTillyMint · 23/03/2013 12:03

CremoShockShockShock Can't believe your DH had to ski to get her! Lucky he had skis/can ski. How did they get back? It must be bloody awful - have you got a real fire or any methods of keeping warm?

No snow sticking here - just freezing sleet, thank God!

DS and his mates are still here - now taking their size 8+'s off to a mates for yet more gaming/TV as footy training was cancelledHmm

Blackduck · 23/03/2013 12:11

Cremo Shock. After your DHs antics yesterday (tractor, fish 'n' chips, skiing) I have images of the milk tray man :) (come on crepeys got to remeber that!)

Dp has gone off to the gym (on foot), ds watching back to back Horrible Histories, I am baking ginger cake...

Cremolafoam · 23/03/2013 12:11

BTM they had to wade back. Dh brought an old plastic sleigh and threw dds case on to it. He has cross country Nordic skis. Was fast down the hill but dead slow upConfused
Poor dd was/ is absolutely exhausted

We have a coal fire and gas hob. We will survive!Grin

OP posts:
Blackduck · 23/03/2013 12:12

Well BBQ might be useful for keeping warm :)

motherinferior · 23/03/2013 12:16

DP is cooking lunch while I grimly work my way through this stuff...and doodle on MN obvs.

bigTillyMint · 23/03/2013 12:32

BD, I had a milk tray manSmile

One summer's night I awoke to find him climbing in through my bedroom window - he had shinned up the drainpipe to my open windowShock He was one of my housemates friends, and had forgotten a key (we always had extra's staying) and was very good looking with a sexy Dublin accentWink

Cremo, you are true troopers!

hattymattie · 23/03/2013 12:50

Wow Crem - remind me where you are with that weather.

This reminds me of that theory that says when the Gulf Stream stops winters will be much colder and longer.
