Hi need some help for my DM, she was measured in Debenhams a while ago and came away with a load of 34DDs none often are comfortable or fit her very well.

I say measured in the loosest sense of the term as they did it while she was still wearing her bra. Is that right? I can't remember as it's been a long time for me! I'm a try and buy girl myself! Anyway got her to measure without this am, she's 33 inches under her bust and 40 inches at the fullest part of her bust. Any suggestions on size would be gratefully received by her :)

Bump :)

StatisticallyChallenged · 25/04/2013 12:47

she should try a 32ff, 32f and av34 e and f.

Thank you :)

I need to get a bra desperately for my wedding dress fitting and I'm clueless as to what size I am nowadays. All my bras are really old and don't really fit properly.

I'm 42" under my bust and about 51" around the fullest part when I do the bending forward thing... about 49" if I don't do that.

I've been wearing a 40E but I think the back size is a bit small for me these days Blush

Please help

sparkle12mar08 · 25/04/2013 15:36

It's the cup size that's too small - you need to try sizes around 42G to start with and if you're squishy of torso (like me!) as opposed to bony, you might well be fine with a 40 back. So try 42FF, G & GG, and 40G, GG & H.

MonstrousPippin · 25/04/2013 15:49

Thank you so much. I'll get ordering some tonight. Smile

occasionalposter · 25/04/2013 18:31

I'm really sorry to ask, but I remember a link to a website/blog that tells you how to measure and calculate your bra size (the back size and then bending over to measure), but I've just spent ages searching all the bra threads (and there are a LOT) and I can't find it!
Please can someone re-post the link!
DD is 27 inch back but 37 inch round the bust and I am struggling to work out her size!

StatisticallyChallenged · 25/04/2013 18:49

its thebetterbracampaign.blogspot.co.uk. I'd start her with a 28g and gg

occasionalposter · 25/04/2013 19:19

Thank you so much. I'll bookmark it this time.

Yonilovesboni · 25/04/2013 19:25

Would someone help me please, I'm measuring 31" under bust and 37 on bust. I was thinking 32DD is this right?

sparkle12mar08 · 25/04/2013 19:31

Try 30E & F, 32DD & E. I suspect you'll be better with a 30E or F tbh.

Yonilovesboni · 25/04/2013 19:32

Thank you soo much, I have been wanting to ask for weeks. The Wine helped Grin

Sunflowergirl2011 · 25/04/2013 19:49

I measured the way SC suggested, and am 34 inches underneath and 44 when hanging down, what size would you recommend?

Sunflowergirl2011 · 25/04/2013 19:50

Bra expertS that should say :)

sparkle12mar08 · 25/04/2013 20:16

Sunflowergirl2011 · 25/04/2013 20:50

Wow, thank you I will be hitting the shops in my lunch break tomorrow :) am embarrassed to admit what I am wearing at the mo as it is nothing like that, 38dd! madness how it can be so wrong!

Fluffycloudland77 · 25/04/2013 21:06

I'm 28.5 under bust and 31 over the bust, I've bought a 30C, it feels a bit tight. I'm never sure how they ought to fit.

How long should I give it to get comfy? I've been wearing 32B's but they don't feel comfortable either.

sparkle12mar08 · 25/04/2013 21:09

You may well not find much in store at that size tbh. Brastop.com is my new favourite website atm, fantastic range of brands and sizes, free delivery over £75, free 30 day returns, and frequent (read weekly) flash sales. Bravissimo also v good for choice of course, but do remember if you send a whole order back you must call them within 7 days of delivery to say so or they won't refund postage. I've been stung twice on that - nearly £10 of my money and nothing to show for it Sad

StatisticallyChallenged · 25/04/2013 21:10

When you say it feels a bit tight can you explain where/what part? How are the cups fitting? Have you scooped everything in?

sparkle12mar08 · 25/04/2013 21:13

Ideally Fluffy you probably need a 28C, not a 30. But I think they've been described as the unicorn shit of the bra world before. A well fitting bra should feel firm on the loosest hooks to start with, because it then gives you somewhere to go as the bra loosens over time with wear and washing. However if you are particularly slim as opposed to squishy (like me Blush) then you might prefer a 30. Have you tried 30B's at all?

Silverstar2 · 25/04/2013 21:39

sparkle I didn't know you could do that with bravissimo - I have a few things on order with them at the mo, must remember to call them if it all has to go back - I just call them and tell them, right? Then they refund the postage?

sparkle12mar08 · 25/04/2013 21:43

Yes, if you know within 7 days of reciept that you'll be sending the whole lot back, then just call them and they'll note the refund on your account. You then have still 30 days for them to recieve the returned goods. With my first two packages I just sent it all back anyway assuming that they'd refund it automatically, but they don't and I'm down two lots of delivery charges Sad

Fluffycloudland77 · 26/04/2013 07:15

Statisticallychallenged, it's a bit tight, I'm what the fitness people call skinny fat ie slim but no muscle tone so the flesh is bulging a little under the back strap.

The centre of the bra is flush with the sternum but at the side near the arms, that's where it's a bit tight.

I'm going to wear it to work for a bit and see if I get used to it. It's this one I've got.

Fluffycloudland77 · 26/04/2013 13:11

I had it on too low, it's fine now.
