Did pi scoop? What type of bra is the 30GG?

blackteaplease · 28/03/2013 13:47

I did scoop but still had gaping . Both sizes are panache Sophie nursingbra.

Hanginggardenofboobylon · 28/03/2013 15:35

statistically Sorrel please help!

I ordered three 30GG bras from Ewa Michalak and I can barely fasten them. The cup size is great and gives great shape but I can barely breathe. I am now utterly confused. a 30GG in most brands is fine in the band, its usually and issue of style, but these are soooo tight. Do I persevere with them in the hope they get better? I could tell though that just on unstretched band size they were tiny compared with the bravissimo Satine I had taken off the try them. If it makes a difference they were the PL a HP and an S - starter (which I think you have SC?)

I suppose what I am asking is whether this is surprising? I think SC you are the same size as me?

StatisticallyChallenged · 28/03/2013 15:47

hanging I wear a 30hh in ewa which is pretty much my standard. I don't have a pl although I tried one and found it smaller than the s. the s, ,imo, , stretches a lot. Try to wear it for an hour just to see if your is the same. If still no good then swap for 32g I suspect.

Hanginggardenofboobylon · 28/03/2013 15:55

Bizarrely the PL is the least tight! I will give the S a go as it is a fab shape, you were right about it being what I was looking for. The HP will definitely have to go back

SquirtedPerfumeUpNoseInBoots · 28/03/2013 16:35

Statistically I cant thank you enough! I followed your advice ^ and ordered a fortunes worth lot of different bras but in the sizes you recommended.
I am so so comfy! Really supported and looks a lot better. Ive even got a beautiful bikini for my holidays.
I am a changed person Grin
THANK YOU!

As a PSA I went into M&S and looked at their 75% off lingerie clearance today. It's been going for a while, so most of the "normal" sizes have gone (including everything in my size that I liked), but they have a load of the less popular (small back, big cup) sizes that some of you have been intervened into, eg 30D, 32F, in quite nice styles and for, crucially, pocket money prices (eg £4), so if you're dreading the thought of shelling out for a load of new bras, you have a big M&S near you, and you don't mind a bit of a rummage, then it's definitely worth a try.

LittleAbruzzenBear · 28/03/2013 17:18

Hi, I think I was another bra intervention thread, but I can't find it. Anyway, I was wearing 36DD. I measure 33 under and 37 over. One of the lovely ladies recommended I try 32D (or DD). Well I got double-boob with those, but the 32 feels so much more supportive. A 32E curvy kate arrived today, but it is slightly double-boob still, other than that, very comfy. Do I need to go up to an EE?

StatisticallyChallenged · 28/03/2013 17:22

try a 32f as most don't do an ee. curvy Kate can be prone to running a bit small in the cup

Pseudonymity · 28/03/2013 17:34

Hi folks, I'm a bit confused as I've had two different answers on what size to try. Going shopping tomorrow so thought I'd give it another go. I'm 30 under and 38 across the boobs. Currently in a 32DD chosen for me insight by the girl in HoF and I have to say it fits pretty well. Could be tighter on the band I suppose, and there is a very slight 4 boob effect on my bigger days.

Pseudonymity · 28/03/2013 17:35

On Sight - it should say! Not insight.

LittleAbruzzenBear · 28/03/2013 17:41

Thank you statistically, I will order one in 32F to try!

StatisticallyChallenged · 28/03/2013 18:18

Pseudonymity a 32DD is designed for someone who measured 37 round the bust roughly. SO that explains the slight 4 boob - you probably need a cup size more. But, are you sure the 32 is firm enough? What bra is it?

Pseudonymity · 28/03/2013 18:26

Hi SC! Thanks for helping. The bra is Calvin Klein and they don't go up higher than DD. They do go down to 30 but obv. 30DD would be too small. The 32 doesn't ride up at the back but you can pull it out quite far iykwim. One of the main problems is that the straps a far too long, even on the smallest setting, so they fall off my shoulders - this is a problem with most bras for me. Tried loads of Freya in a bit for correct sizing but none fit well.

StatisticallyChallenged · 28/03/2013 18:36

Unfortunately, straps falling off the shoulders is a prime sign that the back is too big. I used to have this issue as my shoulders are quite narrow and I am quite high busted but it's less of a problem since I went down to a small enough back.

Can you describe what was wrong with the Freya bras? Also, do you have any idea what sort of shape your breasts are? IME Freya bras tend to have quite wide wires so are good for those ladies whose breasts go quite far round under their arms. They are also quite shallow. So it may be that Freya weren't quite fitting you because of shape rather than size

Pseudonymity · 28/03/2013 19:17

Freya were either digging in on the armpit side, or the cups were simply too big. 32 back was too big but 30 was too small - hence digging in issue. Shape? Er...they pass the pencil test. They are pretty spread out on the chest iykwim

blackteaplease · 28/03/2013 19:22

Can I ask for some more help please? With vigorous scooping I almost fill the 30GG but there is still some wrinkling, particularly above my boobs. The bit in the middle doesn't lie flat against my skin.

The band feels ok but I look like it's giving me a bit of back fat.

StatisticallyChallenged · 28/03/2013 19:25

Hmmm Blacktea. What bra is it? The bit int he middle not lying flat is a sign of cup too small.

StatisticallyChallenged · 28/03/2013 19:26

Pseudo when you say digging in at the armpit, do you mean the outside edge of the straps/edge of the cups was cutting in?

blackteaplease · 28/03/2013 19:38

It's a panache sophie nursing bra. I am wearing it now, the cups definitely feel too big, not too small

StatisticallyChallenged · 28/03/2013 19:43

Ah soft cup - I think getting those to sit flat in the middle is mission impossible!!

IfYoureHappyAndYouKnowIt · 28/03/2013 19:52

Hi can you help? Managing to tie myself in knots looking for a bra that fits. Am long of torso and after losing a bit of weight am finding that actually only my Panache Andorra seems to have a good shape on me. Was hopeful of of CK Tease Me but somehow I just couldn't seem to get the fit right after a few attempts, hopeful of the Brav. Alana but suffered the same problem as the long torso blogger...am wondering whether to try Ewa M but a bit thrown by the styles... for the long of torso I'm thinking this should work.

EM HP Malachit.

Does that make sense and are they fairly true to size? I'm sorry I can't do a proper link on my phone.

Pseudonymity · 28/03/2013 19:56

I meant the underwire was digging in, and when I looked at it from the front you could see that the cups were just not wide enough for my body.

StatisticallyChallenged · 28/03/2013 19:58

I haven't tried the HP but I have an S, and have recently received another S, an SM and a CHP. These feel to me pretty much the same as my Freya size.

In terms of long torso - I believe the blogger you mean is bralessinBrasil. She has recently got an Ewa S I think and loves it. IME all the Ewas are quite open at the top which is generally a good thing for long torsos. The Alana is quite closed at the top.

ToomuchWaternotWine · 28/03/2013 20:03

Hello, haven't read all thread but just wanted to say the bra threads made me realise I was wearing 5 year old very well washed M&S ones that really weren't doing anything for my shape. I was wearing a 36dd. Went to my local independent lingerie shop and got a proper fitting, she spent an hour with me trying loads of different brands and styles, and came out with 2 gorgeous Lepel bras in a 32FF!! My boobs now sit up and out, instead of drooping waist wards and my back and shoulders feel better in just a couple of days of having proper support. I'm going back in a couple of pay checks time to add to my new obsession collection!

So,thank you so much Bra Intervention Ladies, from the bottom of my boobies!! Grin
