Hope you like the peacoat Marsha.

I left the carlys in Tkmaxx, they weren't right and i'll get some better fitting jeans for £50 another time.

GrumpyOldHorsewoman · 17/03/2013 14:38

Afternoon all and Shamrock to my fellow Irish breds.
Still awaiting package from &Other Stories - will check in and report on quality etc when I get it.
Spoke to my Mum in the US and she said my BR dress and clutch arrived and are lovely. I'll be able to collect them in a couple of weeks when they are back for Easter - hope I like them too or they'll be a bugger to return!
My stylish SIL has been trying to force me (ahem) into buying a Michael Kors rose gold watch - any opinions? Off now to make a chocolate Guinness cake and help DD2 with her homework (design clothes for 3 rocks).
I may be some time.

QueenCadbury · 17/03/2013 14:46

queenboo I love both of those dresses.

To our party I'd turn up in a shirt either tucked in or belted around the waist with a scarf round my neck and skinny jeans and a boyfriend cardigan and huge chandelier earrings. Funny how so many of you can't do crew neck cardigans as that's all I wear (v necked ones look odd on me).

Sleepwhenidie · 17/03/2013 15:42

Hi everyone, how are you doing?

First of all...Grumpy did you really mean clothes for rocks?Confused Which subject is that for?!

My outfit for the party would probably be a high necked skater dress with a peplum waist and a large floral pattern Teamed with brogue type lace ups. All of those just don't work on me at all....

QueenBoo I think that dress is lovely, far too ladylike for me to wear, but could look great and not at d'un certain age if accessorised the right way.

Thanks for the help re Friday night. I wore the black trousers with sparkly jacket in the end. Black Louboutin courts instead of suede heels because of the bloody unending rain and my new A Wang swingy tank from the Outnet (Amber I think you may have started an expensive addiction, it is gorgeous). It was a great evening, shame I couldn't taste any of the amazing looking food because of ongoing flu symptoms Sad. Hope everyone else who is suffering kicks it faster than I seem to be able to.

The R&B blazer is going back to the Outnet, could be nice but I don't love it enough. Also cannot believe the original price tag Shock, it barely justifies the reduced one.

Picked up a fantastic pair of sandals in Zara earlier, can't find them on the website but they are this style but in leopard print. Great for a night out.

Shop - thank you - you know why!Wink

Drywhiteplease · 17/03/2013 15:58

Ladies, can't link on frugal thread Grin, but what do you think of these? To wear with bf jeans when the sodding weather eventually improves.
sandals

Decameron · 17/03/2013 16:59

Liberty, have you seen the Google doodle today? Very cute!

I like the sandals, Drywhite.

I don't like anything flowy or frilly either, I prefer tighttailored.

Ugh, the rain. I was planning on buying a couple more Me & Em dresses before the 20% off runs out but maybe should hold off for a while.

Get well soon, Shop.

MrsRadicchio · 17/03/2013 17:07

Gah, I posted too soon earlier and then phone was doing funny things. Can't look at previous messages but liberty I think bidding at the last minute is a good eBay strategy. Whenever I bid early and don't check again, its usually gone for a few pennies over my maximum bid!

I probably suit wrap dresses etc as quite pear shaped but can look too conservative that way.

I've used cocosa, delivery is good but think you have to pay for returns. They have good stuff i think.

Marsha, well done for getting the pea coat, looks like a good purchase. I keep stalking the outnet desperate for a bargain but nothing for me.

GrumpyOldHorsewoman · 17/03/2013 17:19

Homework task almost completed and cake cooling, so have a few minutes.
Yes, sleep, she has to design appropriate clothes for a 'rock band' reflecting the characteristics of the individual rocks. At least it's been a task she enjoys.
May I add my voice in praise of the peacoat Marsha. It is lovely and I think one with just the right cut is so hard to find. Often too wide/short, but that one looks gorgeous. Might start a quest of my own...

Decameron · 17/03/2013 18:03

That sounds a lot more fun than the homework I used to get, Grumpy!

Liberty, meant to say earlier, I use eSnipe for automatic bidding.

Lovely peacoat, Marsha.

AmberNectarine · 17/03/2013 18:05

I'm a whopping 5'4 and an 8-10 novice, but yes, I think we have the same no nos.

Just back from a potter round the shops, only bought some new Falkes and a couple of Mavala nail polishes. A lot of temptation out there though, will blog post on some of it tonight!

shopafrolic · 17/03/2013 18:19

Grumpy Amber and I both have the Rose Gold Michael Kors
pinterest.com/pin/122230577358099262/
I love mine and Amber features it lots in her blog.
Sleep Smile
Marsha got your PM - can't get head working right now but will respond as soon as diary within reach. I'm not that exciting!! Grin

MarshaBrady · 17/03/2013 18:37

lol Shop sorry to put the pressure on Grin I was feeling overwhelmed with names and possibilities. But absolutely no rush at all. Am sure you are btw Grin

Thanks for peacoat feedback, yes definitely worth looking at the clearance every so often. They keep putting on new things, which must be returns.

Drywhite I like them.

Sleep I saw that Rag & Bone jacket this morning, I was also surprised at price. Great shoes.

Love that homework Grumpy.

Decam that google thing is so cute!

QueenCadbury · 17/03/2013 18:43

amber I'm the same size as you but we have totally different no nos!

QueenCadbury · 17/03/2013 18:46

drywhite I do like the sandals although not sure about the strap and buckle. In principle I love the style (does my bum posted some similar lk bennett ones) but think there may be nicer ones around. Think they'd look fab with bf jeans

QueenCadbury · 17/03/2013 18:47

lk bennett ones

BrandyAlexander · 17/03/2013 18:58

Ooh so would you wear our no nos? It isn't about size though, it's about body shape. I am size 6/8 as is say, Kylie Minogue but she is a totally different kind of petite to me. Annoyingly, most clothes are made for her kind of figure and designers/stores run out of ideas at the thought that a petite might be an apple or pear or hourglass, or have boobs or even be bigger than an 8 Hmm.

Grumpy there was a thread the other day about that watch. Made it seem like everyone has one, but I haven't actually seem it in rl yet!

I just saw that John Lewis are now stocking the Michael Kors bags, I was thinking of getting one of beach bag type ones to take next month but having second thoughts!

Drywhiteplease · 17/03/2013 19:02

Yes QueenC I love those, but am looking for tan.....I'm not fussed about the heel on the Clarks ones, prefer something chunkier.
I like
these but not sure about the colour?
What I want is a sandal/ open toed boot that goes quite high on the foot iykwim.....early days, I'm sure there'll be something around soon.

BrandyAlexander · 17/03/2013 19:13

Hi Drywhite think I prefer the first to the second. at QueenC for linking the lovely LkBs.Grin

This is how bad my week has been .....my Austin reed delivery has arrived, I went to pick up the 3 Russell & Bromley shoes- i am only keeping one and I have the oasis dress .....all unopened Shock.

OP posts:
Drywhiteplease · 17/03/2013 19:20

Oooh show us the dressnovice

shopafrolic · 17/03/2013 19:41

How do you reply to all on an inbox message? Or does it automatically do it? confused
Wine - I wore the boots today. I love them, they need to soften a little so they don't look so big at the front but I think they're going to become firm favourites. x

MarshaBrady · 17/03/2013 19:50

Shop It doesn't unfortunately, think you have to copy and paste, have pm'd a list, might be helpful.

shopafrolic · 17/03/2013 19:59

Thanks Marsha have sent a note to everyone....

QueenCadbury · 17/03/2013 20:02

Actually novice having re-read you no nos I'm not sure I cn wear many of then either Grin. I can do maxi skirts/dresses but like you I can't wear anything too fussy around the chest. One of my biggest bug bears is tee with pockets. Fine if your flat of chest but look awful otherwise. I quite like a smock top type thing but can't do empire line either as look pregnant. I guess I'm hourglass too but my tum is definitely the problem. Sometimes I thnk I'm an apple but I have a defined waist so guess not.

drywhite prefer those 2nd ones.

QueenCadbury · 17/03/2013 20:10

shop I've replied but think it may have only gone to you rather than everyone.

winefairy · 17/03/2013 20:12

Anni I agree the Carly's are tighter across the back of the thighs than I would have thought too. So odd. Really sorry they weren't right for you but you did get my that very gorgeous peacoat so you should still feel proud!

Talking of which....so pleased Marsha got the peacoat too! I have been checking in for returns but nothing as yet. I'm in the same boat as MrsR just checking furiously.

QueenBOO Gutted that the Anthro jacket didn't work out. Have seen it is 'online only' which would explain why no one has heard of it when I pop in to see if it's in stock. But love the Katya Wildman dress you linked to upthread.

Trying to think of my no nos. I have the worst legs ever.....shape isn't bad but they are lumpy and vile when unveiled so I try to cover them as much as possible which presents all kinds of wardrobe challenges. Spaghetti straps make me look like Fatima Whitbread. Frills make me look like an iced blancmange and to be honest, I probably shouldn't have bought the Hudson's either as they pull a little across the back of my thighs too. Is there a lost case emoticon? Grin
