Ha good idea. Gotta love Mark Wahlberg. (also rather like Ryan Gosling, can't believe I do and can't believe I'm admitting it Grin but he was good in Crazy Stupid Love).

Thanks Novice I know rather a lot of colours, but I try not to get too much of a rainbow effect! My next Lanvin flats will not be yellow, although I did love them at the time.

foxysocks · 09/03/2013 15:47

Thanks shop. Have given up and got back into bed with mint tea, iPad and kindle. Think I need a reset button on today! X

BrandyAlexander · 09/03/2013 16:20

Marsha, no it's definitely something I looking to do...introduce more colour into my wardrobe. My work wardrobe necessarily has to be dark as i feel it conveys more authority, substance etc. I express my femininity through vibrant colourful accessories. I want to beat the boys not be one Grin. I think I have overly carried the dark theme into my casual wardrobe over the years so have been trying to lighten it over the last year.

I love Billy Joel liberty. I actually went to New York to see him play, as he hasn't played here for years.

Sleepwhenidie · 09/03/2013 17:10

Billy Joel Amber Confused, v retro for someone so young Grin

Just dropped ds2 at party, which felt like a shivery, out of body experience. Now pitifully snuggled under a blanket on the sofa with max lemsip. Kids running riot with MIL upstairs, am dreading when she leaves in the morning. Sight of wet hunky French rugby players providing some comfort however Smile. Who are you supporting foxy? I missed the Wales Scotland match (am Welsh)... Who won? DH (1/2 Irish) will no doubt be having a great time watching the match in a bar in the French Alps Hmm..bitter much, moi?!

DH and I have recently rediscovered the cinema after years of not going. The Everyman ones are lovely, great wine and nibbles. Saw This Is 40 (rubbish) and Argo (amazing, an absolute must see) most recently.

Who mentioned jimmy choo Mary Janes? I just returned my SIL's pair that the heel had snapped off after only a few outings...definitely dubious quality. I never had much luck with LKB's either, wore lots when I worked. Love the cobalt R&B's.

BrandyAlexander · 09/03/2013 17:17

Oh Sleep, I am glad it's not just me! I mentioned the Choo Mary Janes. Exactly. Dubious quality. I haven't bought Choos since. I also have bad luck with LKB as well. Hope you feel better soon.

I think they are made for a party and that's it. Not great imo.

Oh yes liked Ben Affleck in Argo too.

winefairy · 09/03/2013 17:55

Thanks all for kind words about Baum Und Pferdgarten top. They are a fantastic label and worth checking out. Anthro often carry some of their things which makes them good for bargainous sale reductions.

novice Love the cobalt patents and yy to buying jewellery on holiday!

liberty Your outfit sounded fabulous and glad you are out wearing the Leni jacket. Still deciding if I need to size down in mine but love it none the less. And foxy your outfits sounded perfect too. Just having one of those days, I would guess. I have them often!

shop Have replied. Quite excited now! Enjoy nice evening with DH.

And get well soon Sleep and get well soon Marsha's skinnies.

foxysocks · 09/03/2013 18:00

ahhh sleep, poor you. i feel crappy too but am considering medicating with wine rather than lemsip Wink. i was supporting wales and you guys won easily in the end, great result Smile

marsha and novice i can't wear heels any higher than jalouse any more, and neither do i need to, so am listing most of mine on ebay this weekend. will keep nude, black and silver heels, i think, for weddings and parties only. the rest can go. am now all even with selling/buying so need to make more in order to reinvest!

having tried a lot of blazers on over the last few days i am coming to the conclusion that it's not a look i can do. bikers yes, blazers no. finding one to fit my frame is not easy so they make me look mumsy, boring and badly dressed.

as a result have scrubbed blazer from the SS list and replaced with a jersey biker jacket. not leather as I have an all saints leather that i love so needs to do a different job. more like a cardigan replacement, i guess? MUST be machine washable, not too much poly/viscose but don't mind a small amount in a mix. colours would be either navy, yellow or dark grey. actually yellow isn't very sensible for a jacket is it? might be better with one of the others and adding a yellow tee, as my budget isn't huge for clothes? what do you think?

any ideas on where to look? am NOT posting this on the frugal thread (!) but can spend rest of my march budget if i found the right one, so £100 max

i feel a LOT better now, am in lululemon trackies and a primark l/s top with fluffy thermal socks. obv this was my calling for the day!

foxysocks · 09/03/2013 18:04

thanks winefiary, i was desparing this morning.

i pinned this earlier in the year but am not sure on it anymore, seems a crazy price for that much viscose and is dry clean only, pah. maybe it would date quickly too?

I agree Marsha, and that's pretty much what the sales assistant said when I went back to complain. I mean really? Tamara Mellon has a job, why not sell shoes assuming people walk around during the day Hmm

Foxy, no if i was limiting my budget I definitely wouldn't buy that yellow jacket. I would probably go grey and then have yellow tees. Prob a lot cheaper to do it that way round and more versatile too for styling.

Novice I know, bit dodgy really. I don't mind, and quite like, designers / labels who can build a high end thing, but the quality has to be there.

Foxy, I think you can get a nicer one, and as Novice says do a grey one with yellow tops. One colour would be better I think.

MarshaBrady · 09/03/2013 18:44

Will also have a look. I am the same with blazers. I have to be so careful that they are not too dull. I think it's all in the collar for me.

foxysocks · 09/03/2013 19:13

oooo have found a corker! DH likes it a lot too. limited numbers so not linking! hmm. and yep, agree with you both on all points.

shopafrolic · 09/03/2013 19:13

Foxy this grey quilted biker was in a blog the other day and looked great, from Next!! biker
I really like it and would buy under other circumstances.....

MrsRadicchio · 09/03/2013 19:14

Hey

Winefairy I love a quilted jacket too. I had been on the lookout for one for a while, I find it interesting that forces I wasn't aware of were conspiring to make me want one, as suddenly they are everywhere. Reminds me of that line from "The Devil wears Prada", and the specific type of blue. Thanks for the links to how you will wear your bootcuts. I might do a search of pin.

Novice I like the suede R&B.

Foxy I really like that baukjen jacket too, but I think it is really over priced. They seem to have large reductions in the sale, may be worth waiting? I think grey and yellow look so good together. Do you read the worn out blog ? The most recent post has a jersey biker jacket featured from Next iirc, though probably not a dark enough grey? I think Toast did something similar, last season, not sure where else...

Shop hope you enjoyed the movie and it took your mind off things. Last film I saw at the cine was Skyfall. Thanks for the recommendation for Argo (can't remember who?), one to put on the Love Film list.

MarshaBrady · 09/03/2013 19:15

Excellent! buy first link later for sure!

MrsRadicchio · 09/03/2013 19:16

Ha Shop, great minds and all that...

shopafrolic · 09/03/2013 19:18

Love it MrsR!

foxysocks · 09/03/2013 19:28

get you two, next-pushers! Wink I like that one!

think I prefer the one I've just put on hold (!), however it's double the price so need to weigh it up. DH has just turned his nose up at next, pmsl, and said 'yeah, but what will the finish be like? and will you really love it like the other one?'

I am married to an enabler.

MarshaBrady · 09/03/2013 19:33

Lol Foxy Grin

Dh is the same. Except in rare moments of existing in saving mode. He's in it now, but I expect it will end when the Spring sunshine starts, tg.

winefairy · 09/03/2013 19:59

Looking forward to seeing the foxy biker link once it is secured! Grin

BrandyAlexander · 09/03/2013 20:17

Another one who highly recommends Argo. I saw it on a flight 2 weeks ago and loved it.

Am curious about Shops link too!

foxy your dh sounds great!

Love the sound of cobalt shoes (can't remember who ordered them).

sleep hope you feel better.

I've had the mother of all hangovers today so a quiet night in with MN tonight. Can't even bring myself to open the wine. My gap purchases (destructed jeans and navy crops) arrived and I love them both.
