I have in the last half hour lost 3 posts and keep being logged out WTF???? Any one else having problems...have to give up and go back to work - bah.

Topazandpearl · 08/03/2013 15:13

It's been happening to me too liberty. so frustrating!

libertychick · 08/03/2013 15:21

Thanks Topaz I was starting to wonder if I was going mad - have had to change my password a couple of time lately too and I definitely had not typed in the wrong one - I'm telling you all - you missed some wonderful, wise and witty posts Grin [insert vain self obsessed emoticon]

QueenCadbury · 08/03/2013 16:16

Hello all. Great shopping foxy, wish I'd been there. As it was I've had a hot ds at home with me today. I've also joined the frugal thread as apart from a few summer items I really do have enough clothes (you can never have too much jewellery or too many handbags though IMO Grin). I don't have a monthly budget as such as I spend when I need something but I really should try and curb my spending as our house is a money pit.

MarshaBrady · 08/03/2013 17:44

Winefairy ah on the Geiger pistol-alikes. Yes put them on ebay hopefully it will be one of those times that you get loads. (not happened to me, but I hear it does happen).

Foxy love that Wang top, but that's crazy about the dry clean. I'm sure you can hand wash linen. Anyone know?

foxysocks · 08/03/2013 19:14

my zara linen tees all go in on a 30 wash marsha. they even held up to my indian maid treatment on the last trip to india, not that i would subject a t wang to such a risk Grin

have only ever ordered from NaP in the sales before but it's def one to keep an eye on.

BrandyAlexander · 08/03/2013 19:46

Ooh I stick to the instructions.

Enjoying the links.

That's interesting about the return of the bootcut. I should read that. I think bootcuts definitely suit me better than skinnys, but not sure how to wear them...I don't really wear heels, prefer flats. Also, to me the silhouette does still look dated, prefer the way skinnies look (on other people!)

Winefairy what shoes will you wear yours with? Was it you who had been buying lots of quilted jackets? Sorry for memory fail.

I had a look at & Other storries (think its called that) and it looks good. These are a bit similar to the ones Amber linked on her blog, which I also really like.

Shop I really like the trousers the model is wearing in that pin...I think I tracked them down to these. Pricey but am going to keep an eye on them in case they go into the sale.

shopafrolic · 08/03/2013 20:57

MrsR they're great. I may look for a dirt cheap version but since Weds is D Day for DH and redundancy meeting number 2 I need to be good and hold fire.

Annianni · 08/03/2013 21:07

Well done Foxy, i've got the blue, it's lovely.

That breton's nice too.

BrandyAlexander · 08/03/2013 21:31

Ooh shop will send out positive vibes for you.

can I talk about shoes please???

My work wardrobe has a few navy items in it. An example is this Austin reed dress. I want some navy shoes to go with it and am mulling over a few options. This goes against the rule of pin after you buy but here goes: Stuart weitzman navy mid heel patents. They are lovely but I rarely wear heels this low. Though I probably should. Heels are 2.5". Or jimmy choo. I fell out of love with choos about 2 years ago after I bought their take on Mary Janes and I thought it was a badly made shoe, however I was a bit of a choo girl. Or lk bennett. I know I know after all my whining about those fecking bootsBlushBlush. I do also like Russell and Bromley and just saw that Amber likes them too but not sure they go with dark navy.

Any thoughts or any others like these that are might like? I like between 2.5" and 4" heel height. Thanks!

Love the LKB ones novice but I adore my Florettes so am probably biased!

BrandyAlexander · 08/03/2013 21:50

How long have you had the florettes Shop? I think the lkb are my favourites but I have a bad experience every other lkb I buy. I.need.to.learn. Hmm

OP posts:
shopafrolic · 08/03/2013 22:06

I've had them since October I think, I got them soled when I bought them and haven't worn them to death (SAHM) - not much chance! But they are very comfortable. I've never had any problems with anything from LKB and have 2 pairs of long boots, 2 ankle boots and my Floretes......

BrandyAlexander · 08/03/2013 22:26

Thanks Shop. It must be me being a heavy wearer then!

libertychick · 09/03/2013 00:46

Shop - customised converse. I had no idea such a thing existed! The joy! I?ll be getting a pair of those for my 40th.
Sleep hope you are feeling better. Your comment about the acronyms and emoticons made me laugh ? I almost referred to DH as ?DH? in a conversation with work colleagues the other day.
My problems with posting earlier were so annoying ? you all had me in stitches between Amber?s pre-pubescent footstamping over the loss of YL freebies, the outing of Jo Whiley (I have such a girl crush on her ? mwah if you do lurk/post here Jo) and Foxy skipping off work. I so wanted to join in! Marsha I was afternoon drinking with you ? the tedium of what I was working on drove me to opening my Friday night wine a little early (circa 3pm!).
Novice I like the R&B shoes and I think colbalt looks great with navy.

Dec did you see promotion code/event for Coach on Red magazine online site? 20% off that lovely bag might be good?

BrandyAlexander · 09/03/2013 07:23

Hi Liberty, funny post :). thanks. Wondering whether I am brave enough to do cobalt shoes. Probably more interesting than navy. I am in town this morning so will pop into R&B to look at them.

QueenC, the Primark cardigan washed and ironed well. They are £6 Betty type cardigans. Not normally my style but I think the key is not to button up as I really do look about 60 then!

On jeans, I was always a bootcut person but finally discovered skinnies last year and they are so much better for my height and frame, which is petite.

Has anyone seen the weather forecast for the next 5 days???? Its back to being freezing cold! Errr think I will put the orange trench away then Shock.

Theweek · 09/03/2013 07:30

Just marking my place. I don't get much chance to post and can't keep up but love the links/advice.
Have a great weekend!

MarshaBrady · 09/03/2013 08:49

Novice I love the Jimmy Choo. But I've never bought a pair and I do wonder if they are sturdy enough for lots of wear. They may well be. Then the LKB.

I know cold this week how annoying! That one day of sunshine was so lovely.

MarshaBrady · 09/03/2013 08:54

Ah Liberty hope you got the work done, with the aid of the vino.

Hi Theweek.

I haven't retried the boot cut yet, and baby boot cut is a clever rename. Am so engrained with the skinny.

Decameron · 09/03/2013 08:56

I saw that, thanks Liberty, but we will be in Dublin. I signed up to the mailing list in Westfield and they said they do 20% off every few weeks. I am going to save up a bit and wait until May (this is my version of being sensible!) to get a summery bag. Actually I might as well wait for the sales.

The other thread has really taken off. Some good points.

I have the navy R&B in black but really like the cobalt shoes if you want more height, Novice. I was tempted by them but I don't think I'd wear them much (SAHM addicted to skinny jeans and not a great high heel wearer anymore, also I'm quite tall).

MarshaBrady · 09/03/2013 10:42

What's everyone wearing today?

I'm in indigo skinnies and orange MNV for some brightness. Great weekend jumper.

Decameron · 09/03/2013 10:48

Paige skinnies, navy Comptoir drapey top, prune Ash virgins. Not very exciting. In cafe with the DDs, Dh taking over soon so I can go to get my hair cut.

MarshaBrady · 09/03/2013 10:54

Love a hair cut. Well I can't bear it in the chair, get restless, not relaxed, but love it afterwards. I finally got round to doing mine, hadn't had it cut since last year (shock!). Feels much nicer, need to get the highlights too now.

winefairy · 09/03/2013 10:56

MrsR Yes, it was me buying all the quilted jackets! I'm currently on a quilted jacket ban. Plan to wear the VB's with heels.....either as part of an all black outfit or with Michael Kors patent nudes and this Baum and Pferdgarten top which is actually a closer colour match to the shoes than it looks!

I loved my bootcut until discovering skinnies too and always feel bootcut look dated now but I'm hoping the cut of the VB's are more like the new baby ones that still look modern and elegant. Have to wear them with heels though.
