I got my (final- honest) parcel today and thought it would be fun to summarise (I lead a very uneventful life!)

Hits:

Navy Padded coat for dd3 - BRILLIANT. Looks lovely one and so soft and warm

Raindy Day mac for me - I got the charcoal patterned one and it's beautiful. Feels great and am in love with the pattern which is less aggressive in the flesh than on screen. For £35 - bargain

Cord Placket dress in petrol - love, love, love this - beautifully lined and flattering

Emma tunic dress - I now have three Blush

Miss:

Casual jersey dress - it's cheap for a reason. Nice and warm but so dull, so, so dull

Drapey jersey top - also yawn

Lottie tunic - the trim at the top came too low down on my fairly short self so cut bust in two - not a good look.

Anybody else?

hits:
winter warmer gilet in black
archive print top in black (suits short waist)
wrap jersey top purple
richmond wrap dress charcoal print (ditto short waist)
several items for ds age 5.10 - track pants, rib waist cargoes, cord baggies - all big hits. He also is happy with the pop t-shirts 'zoom' and 'bang' now that he can read the words himself.

Misses:
ruffle cardigan in red - colour was meh on me
emma tunic looked strange at the waist
ribbed knitted tee too long in the body for me

Lurker here...thanks for all your tips!

Is there a code for free delivery at the moment, or don't codes work for sale stuff?

Thank you!

stickygingerbread · 04/01/2013 21:26

No codes for the sale, unfortunately Almondroca.

Has anyone received the floaty cardigan?

Report
starfleet · 04/01/2013 21:32

Sticky - I have the floaty cardigan in Bayleaf - it looks lovely on. Close fitting on the arms and loose and drapey on the body. I did read reviews where people had complained about too much fabric but it is flattering and comfortable.

thanks starfleet you have tipped me off the fence & I've placed an order for it, and tossed in the stitch detail dress as well. I had not noticed the dress until reading this thread - bet it will look great with boots. It must be destiny because both items came back into stock while I was looking at them....

I have ordered the Emma tunic since you have confirmed that it will fit someone with large norks and a bit of a gut. Grin Also ordered the twist front top.

And my delivery is apparently on its way already!

I got the charcoal Emma and the khaki patterned one. Is this going to be the Mumsnet dress? Grin

Sticky - I have the Stitch Dress in Navy Cord with 3/4 sleeves and the Black short sleeved one. They look great on and yes do look good with a pair of boots (especially the minky coloured Clarks Majorca Villa which someone mentioned on S&B a week or so ago Grin)

I ordered the Alexandra dress in petrol/sage. Love it, but the 14 was a bit too big. Saw a 12 come up, so have snaffled that - really hope it fits!

Thanks for the help with the mac. I'm going to buy it. Does anyone have the tweed jacket? I'd love one but often buy a petite size in tailored clothes due to being short waisted despite being 5'4. I've never bought anything from their petite range before. Does anyone know if it comes up small or big? Petite ranges vary hugely. I buy from the petite range at next because it is quite big but not at petite precis because it is too small for me. I suspect the difference is that one is designed for women who are about 5'3 and the other about 5'.

Cloutie - if you ring customer services I suspect they'd be able to tell you that. They are quite good on product information

BTW as of now there is low stock in of quite a lot of sizes of Charcoal emma and a few of red emma (which is a lovely colour)

Dancergirl · 05/01/2013 12:40

Does anyone have the red? Is it v bright? I'm tempted!

Report
NorthernLurker · 05/01/2013 12:52

I do - no it's not bright. It's strong and deep and certainly noticeable but not garish. Gorgeous colour imo.

Just swiped the Emma in 18L Grin as I'm not sure on sizing having never ordered before. So now I've got that on its way in a 16L and 18L and the casual belted in a 16L (no 18 in that)
Hopefully one will fit!!

Hits

Roma Jacket -- nice shruken jacket looks good over dresses & with jeans; I got the red (the grey didn't suit me)

Twist Jersey Top -- I got in petites although I'm 5'4. Really nice short sleeved tops (perhaps from spring 2012 range?) I like pink; blue a good colour. Very pleased.

Misses

Moleskin Blazer -- bit too heavy and masculine for me

Maybes (I know I'm being influenced by the price)

Rainy Day Mac in Olive good quality; but how often would I wear for example if I went away for the weekend would I be happy for it to be my only coat?

Pretty Georgette Top -- nice colours on me but I don't wear blouses so not sure I should start with this one.

MISSES: Roma jacket in navy, much too short even for me. Moleskin blazer- may have worked in smaller size but none left now.

Ordered the Emma in grey but it did not come, had better arrive after ordering after reading this thread as need something to cover my rapidly expanding middle! will keep an eye out for red if it works for me.

Got a deep sea blazer and a matching coloured dress (appliqué circles, or stripes I think) which I love.

Returned a more formal dress which didn't suit me and a skirt. Phoned up about returning a dress which has been damaged and was surprised to find that I could do that, and the naice lady let me swap it for the one they had just had back as a return. it's such a relief as that dress cost me what I earn in about a week! The new one arrived here the very next day, with a prepaid returns sticker. I'm so impressed with this company, and so glad I've found some of their clothes which fit me. I can see why they're so popular.

Is the Emma a smart going out tunic or more every day? Seemed to have missed my size now but going to keep an eye out!

just looked into where my Emma tunic is and they have cancelled the order as not in stock, not v happy but then they checked their system which said now in stock again so have reordered plus added a few other items in too. Their customer serv is indeed rather fab as now have free postage for all new items. Most of which are returns which have come bag into stock- zig zag tunic, cord dress, cord blazer cardigans etc

My dd's loved their laptop cases.

My ED went off with the 'trains' carrying bag to university on Sunday - bargain at £18. YD had a protective case in a pink at £10 - again delighted.

haven't tried the £12.50 Henley but looks ok.
