I bought some Chanel Vitalumiere foundation today....

makes me look like I actually HAVE had some sleep in the last six months
have chucked my other stuff int he bin
and dd1 was playing with the Chanel lippy testers and when I stopped her she had a massive strop, yelling "BUT I NEEEEEEEED MAKEUP!!!"
she's not three till next month

I have powder for touching-up in the day, but I don't put it on with my make-up in the morning.

Oh, that's were I'm going wrong - one it's on, it's on, no touching up during the day.

Tinker, daahling - you must touch up during the day. You need a small, portable selection of cosmetics which you must carry at all times - and you must keep checking and re-applying. Tinker, you are not alone I can't do without my powder either. Just a light dusting though.

right! Back from my scav fest:

Boots - very helpful lady, apparently I am beige or clair, she only had sample in beige and IT IS MINE ALL MINE.

Selfridges - no samples of anything, I will be beige here too.

Harvey Nicks - after laughing at the 'man' on the MAC desk, I staggered to Chanel, they had a Beige in the cream.

Kendals - I would be Clair there, they only had a sample in the powder compact creme doodar, you can have that.

So Marthamoo, you can have a Beige cream or compact creme in Clair.

I await instructions.

the sales lady at house of fraser, said I was clair in the liquid (as was she) (then how come she looked so tango'ed then huh) but she said I would be beige in the compact...

Tinker, I put a very light dusting of translucent powder over my vitalumiere this morning. I still look fresh and appealing

Plus, it hasn't flaked on my dry patches like my foundation usually does.

I think I might have needed the heavier coverage one though, as it hasn't completely evened out my slightly red cheeks. Never mind, it still looks and feels good, and I can try the creme next time.

Marthamoo, if your skin is slightly oily/dewy, there is another foundation they do, but I can't remember the name. (called Vitaxxxxxx)

I went in to Debenhams, and the girl was really helpful and not too orange (although she was only about 12 with amazing skin which made me feel very old!)

Feet are still feeling great with the flexitol too.

tbh there isn't much difference imo

she said I was sallow . I would prefer olive italiany spanishy as a description!

I was told that you couldn't get a limpide sample for the cream. Don't know if it's the same for the liquid.
If anyone wants that colour that is.

got it i'm clair, they also have some lovely eyeshadows but had to stop myself

will have to go back another day to see if clarins will take back the one i have tho the chanel lady did say ask for a sample of a darker foundation and then mix them

Cos when the sun comes out I switch foundation to a slightly darker one anyway.

is that ll (LL) or 11 (one one)? Not going with LL.
