So I m up for a little Xmas weight loss! Basically, I know at Xmas I put on weight so want to be well below my 'buffer zone' to enable me to join the festivities. Also want to look good in my Christmas party wear!
Useless on my own, need support to keep me on track!
Anyone in.............

plaingirly I know what you mean - I haven't been skinny since I hit 14. I don't think I ever will be again, but I'd be happy with slim!

AsparagusFern · 30/11/2012 21:17

sweetheart don't worry too much. A few squares are fine! (although dark is probably better than milk)

Joycey29 · 30/11/2012 21:18

No panic Asparagus I m well and truly off the wagon!
I am four glasses of red wine in and a pack of cheese strings - ooops!! Blush

Plaingirly, I was never a slim adult. From the age of 15 I've been anything from a 12 to an 18. Most of that time about a 14-16. The time I was a 12 was very short lived. I thought I was meant to be about a size 14 naturally. At the age of 33 I lost four stone and went down to a size 8/10 and have stayed there every since. I'm now 37. I never in my wildest dreams imagined I was supposed to be this slim, and it took a lot of getting used to. But it is possible. It took me about a year I guess.

plaingirly · 30/11/2012 22:13

Wow! Well done!

I am a 16 now and want to lose 58 pounds to hit my first goal - am seeing how I feel when I get near that amount though.

I have been in denial for a long time - denying what I was eating and pretending that my weight didn't bother me.

Not sure what size I will be when I reach my goal but at 5'2 and 26 years old I shouldn't be carrying all this extra weight and feeling old before my time. Feeling motivated!!

musttidyupBeforeSantaComes · 30/11/2012 22:19

plaingirly it can be done. It's not even too hard once you're in the swing of things. As you see the weight coming off and how fantastic you feel and look it will spur you on. And time flies.

QuinnFabray · 30/11/2012 22:24

If I can do it, anyone can. Just one day at a time. It seems daunting now, but in just a few months time you could be in a totally different place. Don't know what made me finally do it, something just clicked in my head and I got into the zone and did it. Best thing is being able to shop in Topshop. I know that's silly, but it feels amazing. And you're still so young. . . Now I'm heading towards 40, I wish I'd done it in my 20's and not wasted so much time being fat and unhappy. I'm not saying all fat people are unhappy or unworthy, but that is exactly how I felt, and changing was the best thing I ever did.

Movingforward123 · 30/11/2012 22:43

Hi, I would like to join too, I started my fitness pal on Monday I was 10.6 stone Confused I have stuck to it finally and today was 10.2.4 SmileSmileSmile

I'm sure I've only lost water but that's good enough for me! If I could loose 7lbs before Xmas would be lovely Smile

So has everyone got 1200 cals per day?

fedupofnamechanging · 30/11/2012 22:51

Arse!

I went to Harrods today and bought a tuck load of posh chocolate, which I then scoffed before I even left the food hall.

Back on diet tomorrow!

QuinnFabray · 30/11/2012 23:02

I'm struggling a bit on 1200 a day. I was fine for the first four days, but now I'm hungry. Writing off the weekend though, as going to a ball tommorrow night, so will be eating and drinking loads, and then comfort eating whilst hungover on Sunday. I'm fully expecting to put the 2lbs I've lost this week back on, and be be back to square one on Monday.

Joycey29 · 30/11/2012 23:04

Karma you make me feel better - wine bottle gone and Chocs imbibed x

I downloaded MFP after reading this thread on Tuesday - it's brilliant! I was labouring under the misapprehension that I didn't overeat, but it's quite shocking to realise how all that picking adds up.

I've been gradually putting on weight for the last year - would really like to lose half a stone by the end of the month. I'm also doing a 10k run at the end of the month, so need to limit my festive excesses a bit!

I've managed to stick to the 1200 calories, and done a couple of decent (4/5 mile) runs as well. No weight loss yet, but I already feel much better, which is the main thing really!

Thanks for stating this thread!

laptopdancer · 01/12/2012 08:29

Woo....so far 5 lb lost....2 more to the half stone but 5 more to my pre Xmas goal

plaingirly · 01/12/2012 08:46

I have been on my healthy me plan for 2 weeks today. Weigh in for the first time this evening! Scared!! Don't feel any lighter!

fedupofnamechanging · 01/12/2012 08:46

Good morning everyone.

Back on diet today and doing my very best to resist the sugar shell coated chocolate balls, dipped in icing sugar that I bought for the kids, which are calling me from the fridge!

laptopdancer · 01/12/2012 08:53

Oh my gosh, I love those karmabeliever. They are so easy to eat the whole packet too....
I have a "no chocolate until xmas day" policy. And the piece I choose betgter be good or I will feel so ripped off.

Rockchick1984 · 01/12/2012 09:09

2.5lbs lost so far... Despite me having cake or chocolate every day Blush

I've realised that I can't give up the treats, but I'm only eating ones that are really worth blowing the diet for (eg home made scone with jam and clotted cream, rather than a scone out of a packet with butter). I think the biggest thing for me has been limiting the take aways and alcohol, I've only drank once since trying to cut down!

Good luck for tonight plain - are you weighing yourself or have you joined a class?

plaingirly · 01/12/2012 09:11

Weighing myself!

I feel better and more energetic but not any lighter.

puggirl · 01/12/2012 09:21

Please can I join? Dec 1st so got just under 4 wks to lose 1/2stone, then I can work on the other stone.
I am tired of feeling chubby, nothing fits me and look like a fat friend even when I make an effort to get dressed up. I have spent the last 2 years threatening to lose weight do about time I did something about it. Logging onto MFP now.

mirpuppet · 01/12/2012 09:25

I unofficially joined on Monday.
Got MFP.
Cut down carbs.
Bit more exercise.
4 pounds lost -- I know water weight.
But it gives me incentive to stay the course this weekend.

ceeveebee · 01/12/2012 09:53

I started a food diary on Monday and then got MFP on Wednesday, have stuck to 1200 all week (well, I had half a cupcake yesterday but walked it off!).. Not going to weigh myself till next weekend as I get depressed if the scales haven't moved. Now have to try to figure out how to fit exercise in - with 12 mo twins and working 3 days there never seems time to do anything other than walk with buggy - when do you all exercise?

MsGee · 01/12/2012 10:26

Hi, sorry I disappeared .

I'm doing well on WW, looks like I've lost a couple of pounds since Monday but I always lose 3-4 pounds in first week of WW. I've been eating porridge too, find it really helps. Lunch is either half a sandwich and carrots / hummus. Or WW soup and carrots. I find the porridge helps delay lunch till 2 ish then the meagre lunch just keeps me going till dinner. Bit sick of makin DD peanut butter on toast and resisting though!

I might start the 30 day shred on Monday. How bad is it? Can you do it barefoot?

plaingirly · 01/12/2012 10:30

What usernames do you all have on MFP?
