So I m up for a little Xmas weight loss! Basically, I know at Xmas I put on weight so want to be well below my 'buffer zone' to enable me to join the festivities. Also want to look good in my Christmas party wear!
Useless on my own, need support to keep me on track!
Anyone in.............

I have just put my cross trainer back into storage, to make room for my Christmas tree. Have got the guilts now, because I really should have been using it every day. Unfortunately, it was just glaring at me from the corner of the room but was a useful place to hang my hand bag.

As of tomorrow, I will have a go at either an exercise dvd or some vigorous dancing, or at the very least will go out for a walk, so i don't spend the whole day on my arse!

Those of you who like a drink, I find gin and slimline tonic to be good, calorie wise. Also dime bars are lowish in calories, for fellow chocaholics!

I'm in! Post baby weight just would look a lot better if I lost half a stone!
I just need to find some scales for the weigh in!
I'm going to low carb probably dukan, had great success with that last time. I have also had my head turned by the 5/2 diet. 500 cal for 2 days eat what you like for 5.

Karma, try the 30 day shred DVD - gor more or less 30 days between now and xmas and you'll see such a difference! Plus the bonus is it only takes about 20 mins a day Wink

I'm trying to do some kind of exercise every day and I have 3 sessions left with a PT who absolutly kicks my arse before Christmas.

I try not to have snack food in the house to be honest because that is where I'm most likely to go off plan. I can be really good at work and usually pretty good on a weekday evening but weekends are evil!

I'm normally pretty good at work but maternity leave has meant there are biscuits in the house. Biscuits are evil.

I'm doing this. Started on Saturday. I don't mind posting weight. I am about 9 stone 7, although this fluctuates by a pound or two most days, and I want to get down to just under 9 stone. 8 stone something sounds so much better.

I lost four stone on WW a few years ago, and have kept most of it off, but gave up smoking last year, and 10lbs has crept back on. I just miss being really slim. That half a stone, when you're a size 10 anyway makes a huge difference to how your clothes fit.

I'm currently eating 1000-1200 calories a day, only because I have a Ball to go to on Saturday and want a flatter stomach. After that I'll try and be a bit more sensible, and up calorie intake a little. I also fancy trying the 5:2.

Am doing half an hour or so Davina DVD every day.

The 1000 calorie thing has been fine, but now I'm on day 4 and it's caught up on me and I feel hungry. So having 1200 today. Apparently I'm only supposed to eat about 1700 a day to maintain weight anyway, so a 500 calorie reduction sounds about right. 3500 calorie reduction over the course of a week equals 1lb weight loss.

It's so slow and painful losing this half a stone, compared to how it was at the beginning of my weightloss journey.

I've just started 30 day shred. It does make me hungry though, that's where the will power comes in.

sweetheart, I bought the 30 day shred, back when I was 3 stone heavier. It took me about a week to take the cellophane off! I will dig it out again and hopefully this time when I do it, I won't feel like I'm going to die Smile

Whenever I've been shredding I notice a sudden rush of energy half way through the second circuit.

It makes me stiff though! I think you need to do some yoga alongside it. In many ways that defeats the object of doing a 20 min workout, but hey ho.

Just had to google the 30day shred.

Don't normally do DVD s but this looks tempting!

So today I weigh: 10st 11lb

I want to weigh 10st4

I also want a large glass of wine - are the two mutually exclusive???Sad

I can't do the Shred due to dodgy knees. Too many lunges.

FunBagFreddie · 27/11/2012 18:44

I only started doing it once I didn't have much weight to lose, and it hasn't helped me lose weight, but I've lost inches and toned up from it, and it tones you up quickly!

I've put on about 5 lbs since the summer, and I'd love to get down to 8 stone 10, but it's so hard to shift them when you've only got a few to lose. Sad

Me in too, although I have tried various other threads and have fallen by the wayside, only to be Envy months on, when everyone is posting their loses. I have a critical, but fun mum who is coming for Christmas, so want some of the weight gone by then.

Currently 78.5-79kg , would be delighted to be 72kg. I did really well on MFP earlier in the year, but can only do it if my dh doesn't know, otherwise his comments irritate me and I rebel.

So how many of us are on MFP? Or WW app - happy to friend anyone and keep an eye on your diary - if you promise to be nice about mine!!Blush

I use it just to log what I have eaten. Amazing what you forget if you don't write it down.

MFP worked for me. So easy to rack up the calories, especially if you are a picker like me.
I'm 8 stone 10 (well actually more like 9 it seems according to the scales this morning but I'm pretending its still 8 10) and I would like to be 8 7 by Christmas although not likely if today is anything to go by.
I prodded my muffin top but still has 2 pieces of chocolate crunch (laden with calories) so I'm supposed to be sticking to 1200 and today is 1650 but I did do an hour of Zumba so I'm 50 cals over Sad
Must do better tomorrow.

sweetheart · 27/11/2012 22:30

I'm also using mfp. I've been sing it for 14 weeks and have lst 20ibs which includes 2 weeks where I was pretty ill and don't get much exercise done.

I have to admit it took me a while to get o grips with it but its been great.

I do various forms of exercise but one quick it which s easy to fit in is called 10 of 10 where you basically pick 10 exercises and do 10 of them. It's the sort of thing you can do in the morning before a shower.

I'm going to need most help at the weekends and when I finish work for Xmas on 19th Dec

Report
sweetheart · 27/11/2012 22:33

I'm also on 1200 cals a day but usually also get between 350 - 800 exercise calories (except the weekends which are my "rest" days)

I'm at 10st 5 at the moment and would like to hit 10st dead by Xmas and try not to put too much back on over Xmas so I don't have to start denting again in Jan

Now Im :( I have this xmas lunch thing on.
I don't thik I can get away with not eating some of every course as there are only 4 of us. Looks like its 2 mouthfuls of xmas pudd and be strong and then vege soup for tea.

I keep blowing my calorie count - am within 1200 all day, then end up eating chocolate/biscuits at night. Was over by 350 yesterday! I am slowly coming to the realisation that if i stopped buying crap, I wouldn't be able to raid the fridge and eat it!

Am taking the dc to school in a minute, then doing the shred when I come home. Am fed up of settling at this weight and feeling flabby.

Good luck today everyone.

Yes karma but not so easy with stuff on the house for DCs etc is it. I find it very hard to stick to 1200, a good bowl of porridge and coffee for breakfast takes up a sizeable chunk but its the only thing that keeps me full until lunch. I've found myself picking at kids food whilst I'm prearing / leftovers which I had got so good at not doing. So, today's tip is
NO PICKING EVERY CALORIE COUNTS Grin

I weigh in on Sundays and would prefer to stick to that for now. I picked Sunday on purpose so I don't go OTT on Saturday night. I've also given up wine (mostly) on Saturday nights.

I started at 11 stone 11.8 and am now 11 0.8.

Have done level 1 of the shred.

Had a nice view of my bingo wings in the living room mirror, while doing my star jumps, which gave me the incentive to carry on! Grin

Just going for a nice lie down now...

I weighed myself twice over the weekend which confirmed I'd put on weight, so have an up to date weight to go on. Really proud of myself last night, I was peckish and stuck to the kiwi fruit I said I'd have rather than the aero chocolate bar in the fridge. Years ago I used to calorie count, but now find it much easier to cut back on the amount of unhealthy snacks a day (having one instead of three a day now) and eating less calories at meal times where practical. Exercisewise, I'm off on a short walk soon and will do a few toning exercises later.

MusttidyupBeforeSantaComes, I'm terrible and also pick at food while I'm preparing it. Last night when I cooked pizza, chips and carrots for my daughter and her friends, I eat a massive raw carrot instead of the usual 2/3ozs cheese. Not sure what back up option I'll have tonight tough!
