So I m up for a little Xmas weight loss! Basically, I know at Xmas I put on weight so want to be well below my 'buffer zone' to enable me to join the festivities. Also want to look good in my Christmas party wear!
Useless on my own, need support to keep me on track!
Anyone in.............

Yesterday should have been my second fast of the week (am doing 5:2) but, for the first time since I started this WOE, I blew it.

I had a mocha while shopping, then a scone with butter and jam, then I thought "sod it" and there was chocolate and LOTS of crisps and crackers. No actual dinner though. I feel terrible today, bloated and slightly sick with a headache.

I have PMT so I'm blaming my lack of willpower on that.

But on the plus side, I avoided having wine!

AsparagusFern · 01/12/2012 12:49

Helga how are you finding the 5:2? ('Woe' doesn't sound good...)

I'd never heard of it before, but just read an article about it the other day. It sounds effective....but tough!

AsparagusFern · 01/12/2012 12:53

ceeveebee we will keep a beady eye on you from now if you'd like! Smile

AsparagusFern · 01/12/2012 12:56

haha oops. Trying to multi-task, unsuccessfully.

Beady eye message meant for MsGee

ceeveebee meant to say - I haven't started exercising yet as was on holiday, but back to usual from Monday.

I aim to go to the gym for 40 mins, 3 times a week, around 6pm. Can't manage more than 40 mins.....I get so bored otherwise!

plaingirly · 01/12/2012 12:59

Please do PM me it!

Would be fab to link up with more people on there!

AsparagusFern · 01/12/2012 13:01

Great - have sent it.

bluebayou · 01/12/2012 15:27

I have lost 3lbs so far in10 days , just calorie counting Xmas Grin

plaingirly · 01/12/2012 15:50

I have 374 calories remaining unless I do some exercise!

HelgatheHairy · 01/12/2012 16:12

Asparagus In general I LOVE 5:2. It's the only thing I've ever done that I haven't given up after a few weeks and that I keep seeing results with. I've been doing it now since the beginning of October and I've lost 12 pounds.

Yesterday was the first day I've completely given up on a fast day. It's normally really easy, I don't need to think about what to eat, and how much I can have, and how many calories and is that too much oil etc etc. I have one meal (and to be honest, I usually get an M&S ready meal) and a cup a soup and that's it.

AsparagusFern · 01/12/2012 18:47

Wow helga 12 lb since Oct, that's pretty amazing!

I might look into it a bit more. The thing is I'm such a grazer.... At the moment I'm doing trying to do healthy grazing. So one meal a day would be such a change. Interesting though...

plaingirly · 01/12/2012 19:47

Am in shock - have lost 6 pounds in 2 weeks! Sure it must be mostly water weight though.

sweetheart · 01/12/2012 19:50

WOW everyone sounds like they are doing soooo well. I'm trying to be good today, ate hardly anything all day but been making up fr t a bit this evening! Tomorrow will be a nightmare as we're going to the Chrstmas market in Winchester and goodness knows what food will be on offer BUT I do plan to take the kids ice skating so hopefully that will save me one calories and I'm all stocked up on Waitrose LF ready meals for next week.

sweetheart · 01/12/2012 19:52

How much does everyone have to loose in total? For me these 7ibs are my last as I've already done 20lbs but I know for some of you it's the beginning or middle of you're journeys

plaingirly · 01/12/2012 19:56

I am just starting! 2 weeks on my healthy me plan. MFP is my new favourite thing!

I want to lose at least 58 pounds in total. 52 to go!!

AsparagusFern · 01/12/2012 20:22

plain congrats - I know you were nervous about that weigh in. That's brill!

sweetheart for me I've always just been about half a stone more than I should be. My BMI is at the very top end of healthy (i.e. nudges overweight).

So I'm aiming to lose 5-6 pounds to get down to 9 stone. It doesn't sound like much - but (so far) I've never been able to do it!

fedupofnamechanging · 01/12/2012 20:54

Asparagus, I am wanting to get to 9 stone, so am trying to lose the last half a stone, like you.

Have had a reasonable day - a little chocolate, but everything else has been low calorie and healthy.

plain, well done. I don't think that 6lb will all be water weight. 6lb is a proper loss Smile

eumachia · 01/12/2012 21:21

Hi, would really like to join this thread - I also have 5-6lbs to lose to get back to 9st 2 - a weight I haven't been for a very long time... - it would be fantastic to get there Hmm

Joycey29 · 01/12/2012 21:34

plain wow you are amazing! That s definitely not water!

Keep it up - I feel inspired! [pinches muffin top] Blush

plaingirly · 01/12/2012 21:56

Super excited to keep going but I want to weigh myself every day - not sure if that is a good idea!

Feeling motivated!

Muffin top? I have a whole bakery wrapped around me!

puggirl · 01/12/2012 22:12

I need to lose 19lb in total. Was hoping to drop 7 before Xmas and push on with the rest in the new year. going gor a run in the morning (actually a slow ish jog) but it all helps.

Rockchick1984 · 01/12/2012 23:30

Plain that's fantastic - congratulations Thanks Thanks Thanks Don't kid yourself that it's water weight, that's real weight loss - think its about 2lb water loss that's why you will almost always lose a bit more the first week.

I've got about 7-10 lbs to get back to my pre baby weight, have already lost a lot (I gained nearly 5 stone Blush ) but DS is nearly 2 and I'm really struggling to lose any more as its not much to lose IYSWIM but I'd feel so much better if I could fit in my old jeans! I'm only in my 20's and worry that I'll gain a small amount every few years, but overall it adds up to a lot (this is what my mum did, she was always a size 10 but gradually has ended up a size 14 over about 10 years).

plaingirly · 02/12/2012 08:24

If it is mostly proper weight loss I am even more happy!!

Heartbeep · 02/12/2012 10:11

well done plain!

first week of WW & i have just weighed in. I've lost 4.5lbs which is a good motivator as i'm so weak at times. I've been really good the odd kitkat here & there but I've not exceeded my point allocation.

Joycey29 · 02/12/2012 10:59

So pleased with self. Went out for dinner at Pizza Express and discovered the Leggera pizza for only 500 calories. Made evening so easy as had glass of wine etc and still was close (Confused) to calorie target.
Weighing in on Tuesday !
