So I m up for a little Xmas weight loss! Basically, I know at Xmas I put on weight so want to be well below my 'buffer zone' to enable me to join the festivities. Also want to look good in my Christmas party wear!
Useless on my own, need support to keep me on track!
Anyone in.............

Anyone else weighed in? I've lost a further 2lbs, so that makes 5lbs in total over the two weeks. BUT this may not be a true weight as I have flu at the moment and have just realized I only had about 850 cals yesterday. If I'm well enough, I have two Xmas meals lined up for Fri & Sat night and a birthday meal lined up for Sunday lunchtime, so I'm assuming I won't loose next week but am aiming to maintain. I'll go for the final 2lbs on my weigh in before Xmas.

Eliza22 · 11/12/2012 12:07

Have weighed in this morning..... Total loss 5 lbs. Not sure from where though!

Have continued to run 5 x weekly with weekends off/lie in. The water's gone a bit by the wayside because I feel too darned cold to drink 2litres of cold water in my waking hours. Also, never off the loo!

Feel good though. And, feel confident that ill look nice, come Christmas, in my chosen clothes. Am having a "Jenna Elfman" short haircut tomorrow. Looking forward to it. Also, have recently put away the St Tropez/bronzing stuffs and gone PALE (I wasn't TOWIE - but I've not been this colour since Guerlain introduced their bronzing powders in the 80's). I look good without it. More real and appropriate for my advancing years!

I think we've all done fantastically! Going to feel so marvellous for Christmas and New Year! Xmas Smile

I just made the fatal mistake.
Clothes shopping half way through a diet...anough to knock your motivation for six. BUT I WILL NOT GIVE UP!!!!

Eliza22 · 11/12/2012 12:11

Laptopdancer.... Keep it together, girl! That's the spirit!

laptopdancer · 11/12/2012 12:18

And apparently I am a size 14 jeans and a 22 coat Hmm

Rockchick1984 · 11/12/2012 12:34

Hi all, I disappeared for a LONG time, having completely blown the diet again! But will try to be good again now, scales are broken so can't weight until tomorrow to see what damage has been done Blush but will get a bit of weight gone before the Christmas pig-out!

Eliza try drinking hot water with a squeeze of lemon, or a fruit tea as these both still count towards your 2 litres per day. I've really noticed an improvement in my skin since forcing myself to stick to 2 litres a day (and more if I've had wine the night before!)

Eliza22 · 11/12/2012 12:46

Rockchick, thanks for the tip. Will try.

Don't weigh yourself for a week. That's not burying your head in the sand, more like giving yourself chance to get back on the wagon without feeling "it's pointless, I weight (whatever) now!!"

Madmog · 11/12/2012 14:47

Wow Eliza22, I'm impressed, running 5xweekly. Good on you. Have the flu at moment, so am annoyed I missed my last aerobic class until after Christmas.

Eliza22 · 11/12/2012 15:25

Madmog.... It's NOT as impressive as it sounds. It's 30 mins walk/run but, it's more than I was doing before, slouching and chatting my way around the gym. I like the fact that you can just do it. Straight from my front door instead of the trek to GET to the gym in traffic..... And back.

Also, the weather's been great for it, mostly. Not sure how enthused I will be in the rain!

sweetheart · 11/12/2012 15:53

Hi all, been missing for a few days due to sheer busyness and no time to log in!

I'm pleased to say that after a terriblle weekend I've lost 1Ib this week - think I headed it off at the pass last week by doing 5 very low calories days with the ready meals in preperation for the bad weekend. So that's 3 in total for me (will probably be maintaining from here on in over the festive season - I hope!!!!)

Went to a spa with my sisters on Friday for a brithday treat. Ate LOADS of naughty food followed by a 3 course meal out and booze. Pretty much same Saturday, was my sons birthday so diet fell by the wayside and was overtaken by takeaway, nibbles and more booze. Sunday I started off trying to be good but there were too many residual nibbles and booze in the house.

This week I'm back on the ready meals again in preperation for another terrible weekend, got a BIG night out Saturday but there should be lots of dancing so I'm hoping that will be my saving grace!

It's pretty much downhill for me from here on in. Next Wednesday is my work xmas party and we have something on pretty much every night from then until the 31st!

Although I have to say, my body was crying out after 3 days of punishment and i was ready and eager to get back to some health eating. Goodness only knows how it's going to take the next couple of weeks!!!

plaingirly · 11/12/2012 21:27

Hope everyone is doing well!

Just back in from Zumba - makes me a bit hyper!

Watching the US Year to Save my Life - the lady on it is over 400 pounds. Can't imagine what a challenge it would be to just do everyday things like climbing the stairs.

HelgatheHairy · 12/12/2012 16:19

Well I was in, then I was out, then I was back in but now I'm DEFINATELY out as I just found out I'm pregnant!! Not saying anything in real life so getting it out on here. First baby!

fedupofnamechanging · 12/12/2012 17:06

Congratulations Helga. That's fabulous news.

HelgatheHairy · 12/12/2012 17:27

Thanks karma we were trying for ages but it still feels surprising!

Eliza22 · 12/12/2012 17:32

musttidyupBeforeSantaComes · 13/12/2012 06:30

Joycey29 · 13/12/2012 07:28

Congratulations Helga!

Am trying to be super good but am staying at Aunts and she s loving having us to stay and cooking accordingly!

Thai fish cakes, roast veg and wedges last night!

MFP is going to explode - only good thing is regular sea side walks, and less wine etc!Wine

Weigh in was good - another 1lb gone and people are noticing! Haircut really helped give me a boost - feel so much younger looking!

Roll on Christmas - I will be a yummy mummy! Grin

Have been a couple of days without chocolate now. It's hard because it is my comfort food. Am proud of myself for doing it, though. Am eating reasonably well at the moment and not wasting all my calories on crunchies!

Have lost the lb that I put on, so back to 9.4. Am hopeful that I can lose a couple more before Christmas. Been trying to keep busy - painted my dd's bedroom bright pink yesterday, in an attempt to not think about food!

Will be so glad when this is done.

AsparagusFern · 13/12/2012 08:04

Big congrats helga - that's wonderful!! What lovely news for Christmas!

AsparagusFern · 13/12/2012 08:08

Well done everyone for keeping on keeping on!

Have now lost 7 lb - a few people starting to notice, though am still wearing my usual baggy jumpers etc that I wear to hide the muffin top, so someone said it's hard to tell under the woollens!

I haven't had a single mince pie yet this season - which is totally unprecedented for me. I don't know where this willpower has come from?!

Madmog · 13/12/2012 11:19

Feeling rubbish here as I have the flu, but still sticking to the diet. I was going to do more walking and some toning exercises, but that's all gone out of the window at the moment.

Meant to be going on my work Xmas meal tomorrow, will have to see if I'm up to it. Going to an italian restaurant and I've ordered mushrooms cooked in oil & garlic, a salmon, smoked salmon & prawn salad (yes, I'm serious about the diet) and panacotta, and colleagues had insisted I had to have a couple of glasses of wine. Can't believe there's all that food waiting for me and I may not be up to it.

laptopdancer · 13/12/2012 19:54

Finally got back to the 7lb lost this morning (gained 1lb after rthe weekend fiasco) and then went shopping with dh. He is a cafe guy so we always go to some kind of dodgy cafe that only sells breakfast type food (cooked I mean).
So, I had a look and noticed they did paninis...tuna panini and salad. Great I thought.
So panini arrives and its tuna and sweetcorn in mayo :( :(
But he had bought it for me so I ate it. And the salad had coleslaw. Sure I could have left it but it was bloody lovely.

So today I have had:

porridge (sachet so measured portion)
tuna and goddam may panini with coleslaw and salad
chicken skewer with a bit of BBq sauce andpeppers and salad (thursday night meal out with DS)
low fat yoghurt
light hot choc (40 cal)

which is a f* load for me and I will never lose anything if I keep eating like a piggy Xmas Angry

laptopdancer · 13/12/2012 19:57

Sorry about the typos...fat fingers ;)

Joycey29 · 13/12/2012 21:36

Not fatfingers - just happy hands (ok so it's supposed to be feet!)
Sounds like you balanced well - could have had whole fry up - go girl I sense willpower!
