What's a MFP name?

Spoiltexpatbrat · 26/11/2012 12:57

Mfp

I found my Tracy Anderson DVDs! Got up at half 6 and did (most) of the post pregnancy one before the kids got up. Have since eaten cake and crisps so not exactly angelic, but hey ho.

It's pouring with rain here. Anyone got any sunshine?

AsparagusFern · 26/11/2012 14:18

Pouring with rain here too!

I'm on holiday this week and I tell you my constant proximity to the fridge is terrible!

However - just input my lunch of chicken, avocado and half fat mozzarella salad and MFP is loving it. Think I need to go easy on the avo and mozz tho! Hmm

Eliza22 · 26/11/2012 14:47

Tipping it down.... Must....run..... (Unlikely, in this!)

plaingirly · 26/11/2012 19:19

Just back from Zumba - I am SO unfit!!

Spoiltexpatbrat · 26/11/2012 19:41

Just sat waiting to go into the Pilates studio... 3oo cals under goal, bu I've eaten crap! (As those on Mfp can see Blush) both kids are ill now so I've been snacking in between. Tried to tempt dd to eat by offering her macdonalds she hasn't eaten for three days and can ill afford to lose any weight. Needless to say I bought a happy meal and she didn't want it Hmm I had the drink and a few chips but felt so guilty!

I have tinted eyebrows, buffed nails and put on a face mask.

New scales arrive tomorrow so no more cheating from that day forward Wink

Karbea · 26/11/2012 20:08

Evening all!

I've been ok today, kept to all my do's and do nots :) although I'm under on calories, but had too many carbs. I actually feel a bit carbd out. I really need to look at what amounts I have left at the end of the day, so I can work out what I can and cant eat, could of gone crazy with protein!!!

plaingirly I'm going to go to power pump tomorrow, first time in about three years... We will really see unfit then!!!

Evening all

I decided to forgo the pub quiz with the free alcohol winnings. Free alcohol + trying to lose weight for Xmas = not a good combo!

I just joined this thread the other day so sorry for playing catch up....

Vivid -
I'm glad your toe cramps have gone. My mum gets toe cramps and apparently they could be a sign of needing more magnesium. If you find you get them again, give magnesium supplements a go. (Or eat grapes - they have lots of mag. apparently!)

eumachia · 26/11/2012 22:25

Hi there - just seen this thread - would really like to join, so also playing catch up. Am feeling decidedly as if do not want to look my age (48, nearly 49) so a few pounds off by Christmas would really help, to get back to weight I was when 23. I'm going to start running again - but the weather is awful and I can only ever run in the evenings when it's dark...

VividVanilla · 26/11/2012 22:46

Evening Smile

Asparagus - thank you for the pointer. Thanks
Your poor mum Sad
I've been trying to read up on why this is happening (I used to get toe cramps A LOT when I was a child - especially when I went swimming) and then fairly intermittently through my 20s and early 30s. I shall keep your advice re magnesium in mind, especially as I've read that a deficiency of calcium/potassium could also be a culprit - possibly one of many. The source I looked at also said that asthma drugs were frequently to blame (and yes, you guessed it - I DO have asthma Sad and I'm on meds to keep it under control). I think that - to a very great extent - if you have a specific medical condition it can kind of result in a domino effect with a whole string of medical conditions resulting.

How good have I been today? Well, I submitted a massive project this evening that's left me with no little time to exercise over the past week or so... Hopefully that will give me some more time to do the things I ought to be doing to my body and mind. I've been fairly good food-wise (haven't clocked it all in to the MFP diary - will try tomorrow) but did allow myself a fruit yoghurt after dinner this evening.

Busy day tomorrow, though, so I dunno Hmm

eumachia - hello. I'm about the same age as you: know exactly what you mean. Good luck with it all Smile

Time to give the doggies a bed-time cuddle Grin >>>>>>>>>

VividVanilla · 26/11/2012 22:47

(P.S. spoilt to make your MFP diary visible to other members/friends, you need to go to Settings > Diary Settings)

VividVanilla · 26/11/2012 22:48

(I think)

Meggles76 · 27/11/2012 06:41

Morning all!
Right I have signed up to MFP after you all mentioning it on here. I don't need to lose weight though the odd vanity pound would be good! More I hope by having somewhere to write down what I've eaten might keep me from the junk!
Reasonable day yesterday food wise. Hot water and lemon first thing, fish sushi for lunch, 2 rice cakes mid afternoon with fruit juice and Coq au vin and greens for supper. This was followed by a fab ice lolly as I had a sweet craving moment!
I was working all day. No exercise. Thinking I might hop to a shred now.

Karbea · 27/11/2012 07:34

Morning All,

Welcome eumachia!

I added in using night eye cream last night to my list. Today I want it to be be do resistance training twice a week but my gym only does pump once a week so need to see if the sister gym does it another day, either way it'll be added to my list for today (once a week).

Spoiltexpatbrat · 27/11/2012 07:58

Morning,
The new scales arrive today so it's the moment of truth. I'm slightly scared!

Only two more sessions of Pilates left so I will have to think of something else for my 4th session of the weeks.

Today I have both babies sick, so I doubt I'll get much done. However I plan to clean all my makeup brushes, sort out my makeup (could take hours, I have loads!) clean my earrings and wedding ring etc etc. so not really personal grooming but it will help me to look more 'polished' in the long run

Can anyone link me to the princess threads, I have no idea what they are! Blush

vividvanilla thanks for the tip re food diary. However they are so bad right now I feel they shouldn't be seen by the public Grin I will make them public soon once I sort my diet out

Rockchick1984 · 27/11/2012 09:18

Spoilt there's a few princessing threads, here is one of them with the list at the top.

My day wasn't the best yesterday, but then got some fantastic news and had to have a glass of wine to celebrate, which turned into a bottle, which turned into a huge bar of dairy milk (the ones for about £1.50, don't know what size they are) to try and sober me up a bit Grin

And despite that, I hopped on the scales and am 0.5lb lighter than yesterday, clearly wine agrees with me!!! Had already drunk 2 pints of water before weighing myself so don't think it's just dehydration??

Karbea · 27/11/2012 12:53

Hello,

My gym is a nightmare!! The website said at 10am there was a pump class actually it was a pilates/yoga class oh well, the stretch probably did me good and I enjoyed it, so that's today's 'one small thing' :)

Having a good diet is HARD! After having too many cals on Sunday, too many carbs yesterday, I reckon I'll be too much protein today :(

Tomorrow I'm adding in 6 eggs a week, and Thursday I'm going to add in a weekly pedicure (I noticed how dreadful my nails were in the class... Embarrassing!).

Oh and if you look at what I had for lunch today... You might have guessed I was using things up in my fridge!

Sad

Meh...I'm not in a good mood.

Bloody hard day today, I love my children but being an expat have definite disadvantages at times, like today. 2 poorly babies, I'm tired, it's cold and I don't speak a word of French so going anywhere is a challenge.

I think I have cabin fever. Or I'm coming down with something picked up from the kids.

Waited in all day for the scales and they arrive this afternoon.

I hate them.

They weigh me 2kg heavier than our old ones. As do they dh.

I really feel like all this hard work and eating is going nowhere.

I really could cry Sad and I have

Bollocks!

My target weight for Christmas is so unattainable right now Angry

Wait to forget it and stuff myself with all the m&s goodies in the cupboards. Come and me not too.

Sorry for the self indulgent post Blush

Spoiltexpatbrat · 27/11/2012 17:07

So many typo's, I hate my I phone too Angry

eumachia · 27/11/2012 17:14

Hello,

Thanks, VividVanilla and Karbea -

spoilt I know how you feel - I have failed miserably on my first day (weighed myself this morning and was 2kg more than was expecting so ate lots... have lots of work and car ferrying to do tonight too) but am going to do it from now... Grin

Spoiltexpatbrat · 27/11/2012 17:47

I really don't understand it though, that's what makes me so angry!

I do so much exercise, eat below my target...meh.

Dh is reasoning with me by saying that I haven't put on 2kgs, just the scales are weighing us both heavier. So I was never 62kg at all. I have still lost 4.5kg but my starting weigh was just two kg heavier than I thought in the first place!

However it means I want to lose a stone (going by the new measurements) so I won't pig out, I'll have some fruit now and just work as hard as I can. I'm going to get some bleach for my eyes so I can forget seeing 64kg!!!

Onwards and upwards

Karbea · 27/11/2012 17:57

Oh spoilt ((hug)), I do really feel for you I can't imagine how it feels being somewhere where people don't speak English, so frustrating :(

And how very dare those naughty scales!!!! Although just think now at least you know they are accurate, mine jump about all over the place, and really it's how you feel rather than what you weigh. When I was a skinny Minnie I never weighed myself I didn't have to, so if I went up or down a few pounds I'd have never have known.

Don't be hard on yourself, why don't you set yourself a beauty task for today rather than a diet one.

Spoiltexpatbrat · 27/11/2012 18:26

Thanks karbea

I know it's just the lack of sleep talking and my hate of France Blush I get days like this.

It's hard having no friends, well I have friends of course but not really here due to it being a very short stay. We move again in march.
Sometimes I just want somebody to rant too, or to moan too...

Anyways, kids are in bed. Fingers crossed we get a few hours. I'm going to do the things I mentioned earlier. Clean jewellery etc. I might get to paint my nails too Smile
