Karbea, a couple of bad days aren't going to undo the last few weeks. Still a couple of weeks to go so you can get back on track Smile

Are you on MFP Karbea? I have found that logging everything I eat has really helped me!

Ok, so it's not a massive weight loss but.....

So far, doing the Couch2 5k (and I've needed to repeat week 1 'cause frankly, it nearly killed me) and the India Knight (go organic/NO low fat or "diet" products) I have lost 4lbs, an average of 2lbs per week.

I'm very pleased with myself!

I eat fairly organic anyway but have chucked out low fat spreads, low fat yoghurts, low fat cheese etc. Have cut down (though its the wrong time of year to cut out) carbs. Still love a chicken tikka masala but eat HALF of the portion I'd normally devour. So, I don't feel like I'm "giving up" and therefore craving, anything.

In the past, I've always "gone on" diets, lost weight and relapsed. It'll take me some time, like this, to lose the 14 - 18 lbs I'd like to lose but, frankly at 50 I'm fed up with traditional "diets". I don't have a huge amount to lose but it's the difference between getting into over half the clothes in my wardrobe comfortably and not feeling sluggish/tired all the time and NOT.

Oh, and red wine? Not giving it up but have cut my consumption by half.

Well done Eliza!! I can't afford to eat all organic, but never buy low fat or low cal equivalents of things - they never taste as good and it's far better in my mind to have a smaller amount of a real treat rather than a bigger portion with half the taste :)

I had a few blow out days, a few good days, and overall I've lost 2lbs... Utter rubbish but at least it's an overall loss I suppose!

Yes, have to say, I saw a big difference in my food shop bill and I was already buying organic eggs/bread etc. But, find myself using smaller amounts because it costs more!

Well done Rockchick, 2lbs loss is better than a gain in my book Smile

And when I see all the supposedly diet foods on the supermarket shelf I wonder, why are we gaining so much weight? A dietician friend I worked with said to me years ago that taking fat out of a food to make it low fat means that the sugar content is higher and it's the sugar (converted to fat by the liver) that's laid down as fat by the body. Think I've got that right!? Any dieticians a out there?

Afternoon all. I don't know why it is, but I agree I've heard low fat foods aren't that great for you, full fat is better.

I finally ran this morning!!! And I've eaten pretty healthy so far today :)

I'm doing the Couch to 5K Podcast thing Mon to Fri. Weekend's off. If I only did it the recommended 3 days, I'd get nowhere because I was doing more than that at the gym. Have this week frozen gym membership because frankly I'm bored by it and made ANY excuse, not to go! Much better out in the so-called "fresh air"!

I'm down to 60.3! Had a couple of days where due to sheer tiredness I ate pretty badly. I have four days of training lines up. Started yesterday with personal trainer, she is here again tonight.

Treated myself to new trainers and work out stuff. Xmas Smile

I really want to be under 60kg to go home in dec. I was 66kg last time family and friends saw me

Too cold to run but.... MADE myself do it. Now feel quite smug. Two poached eggs on organic wholemeal for luncheon.

Not really a "diet" is it?!
