Good morning (sings in a cheery voice!)

Well ds 10 months decided to keep me awake most of the night due to teething. So I had three hours sleep, broken I hasten to add and woke this morning to an aching body. However i soldiered on an made it to Zumba which I have just finished and realized I haven't eaten anything at all!

Tut tut

So I'm keeping on my gym stuff as I have training at 8pm, I'll be the slummy mummy on the school run today Wink

I feel quite empowered not eating, which I know is dangerous and I don't want to go down that route. I will eat once I get home, just not any rubbish.

I find if I have a good day I will be good the next, if I have a bad day however it can effect me for a few days. One chocolate turns into a bar etc etc.

I have downloaded my fitness pal too. If I carry on like the last two days I will lose a stone before Christmas but in all honestly that's highly unlikely.

Megglet, I feel your pain. We relocated to France from Dubai when ds was 8 weeks old. I didn't want to leave Dubai and really haven't given France a chance. I have about three friends total! Most have left to go home for the extended holiday period so I have one Shock

We move to Korea in may. So I'm in the mind set that I don't need any friends because ill only have to say goodbye Sad

I use mn a lot more than I really should, there is always somebody around!

As for the holiday wardrobe, think layers. If you are having a 'fat' day you can drape layers over yourself! Skinny jeans and a baggy jumper is a good look for this winter, hides the muffin top top Wink

My aim is to fit in size 29 jeans for a night out on the 22nd dec when we go back to uk. I'm the only mother in the group of best friends I have, my aim is not to show it!!!

... Failing that ill distract them with a pair of louboutins and my Chanel 2.55 Wink (shallow, moi? Grin)

Always have a plan B, that's my motto!

I haven't done a lot of exercise this week - although I have gone to the gym once and I am walking the stairs more rather than always using the lift at work. But I have managed my salad 3 days, and even though I was at a conference all morning, I managed to have (too much) coffee, orange juice and 1 flapjack in the 2.5 hours before it started (coffee shop first to read what I needed to know, then in the hall with loads of pastries etc), only coffee at the break, and quite a nice soup and salad lunch (ignored the wine and the decadent looking deserts). So I am doing ok.

And I am happy with this week overall as, despite DH being away and work being manic, I have eaten healthily and not overdone the portions either. And I am still have half of the bottle of wine that I opened on Sunday to drink. (I might have that tonight though...).

I've walked and done the water today but.... My husband returns tonight (works away a lot) and there WILL be wine !!

Still, didn't snaffle any chocolate/biccies so, it could be worse Smile

I'm aching! Sat waiting for the personal trainer, wishing instead that I could curl up with a film and some chocolate Grin

Just update my fitness pal. I have lost 9.6lb in 2 months!

If every day was like today I would be 53.5kg in 5 weeks. However I couldn't do this much exercise in a 24 period again.

Hope everyone has a good weekend and you make the most of your rest/ diet free days

I've just had a bag of Thornton's milk chocolate and 17 giant chocolate buttons.

My blowout day appears to have set in a day too soon.

I love the way everyone's good work falls apart when their dh's are back on the scene. Mine was exhausted tonight, already asleep (9:30), so couldn't tempt me with chocs or wine, but tomorrow's another day!

spoiltexpat check you out today! A few months ago, I did 2 sessions in one day and then did nothing for about a month, I felt so virtuous that I could do no wrong!

imflabulous just pick one thing to do a day and don't beat yourself up, start with easy stuff and build up to the more tricky stuff.

vivid I've not have any chocolate since Tuesday and bizarrely don't miss it, I've been known to eat 6 full size snickers over the course of a day...

biddy well done :) it's hard to keep at it, when things are stressy.

Ok, today went pretty well I think. I'm slightly worries about the amount of nuts I'm eating but I guess it's better than chocolate, although maybe more calories?
I had a facial at lunch time so before I went I had a miso soup so I'd not be ravenous afterwards, which seemed to work. I managed to run round the supermarket and get a healthy lunch rather than my normal hungry shopping which means, crisps, cakes, biscuits etc.
Tonight I made meatballs which might not be the healthiest but they were yum, and I used brown spaghetti and didn't touch the garlic bread

Ok round up!

Sunday : no alcohol
Monday : no choc/crisps
Tuesday : no caffeine
Wednesday : ran
Thursday : portion of fruit with breakfast
Friday : body brushing

I reckon tomorrow will be something easy like flossing/mouthwash as dh will be around, so I won't be able to think of any thing better.

I've been up and down all week too with my eating - some good meals, some not so good. Away for the weekend which means being out of the house and eating out but will try and make healthy choices. Don't want to see the 11s again next week!

Out of the 13s which feels good! 4 pounds off 56 to go.

This week - did zumba twice, did some exercises at home, drank more water, bought vitamins and supplements (just need to start taking them!!), walked to work every day, stuck to my diet and worked on my grooming.

Even turned down a bacon sandwich at work!!

Report
plaingirly · 24/11/2012 15:59

I am aching today!

Did some exercises at home - just random ones from magazines - and tried to really push myself! I have eaten really healthily too. Can't wait until I start to see some sort of results.

I can't tell that I have lost 4 pounds so maybe when I have lost a stone or two I will notice.

Well, today is my bi-weekly weekly blowout day and I'm fat and bloated but my tastebuds are at peace Grin

Karbea - bizarrely, I'm by and large the same with chocolate now that I'm watching what I'm eating (not on blowout days, though: I've just polished off half a box of a few After Eights, and I've got a Snickers bar waiting for me in my sin-drawer Wink).

The rest of the time, though, (and I never thought I'd say this) I actually rather enjoy being virtuous and self-disciplined. Possibly stems from a lifetime of decadence Hmm

On a different note - does anyone know how to (self-)treat severe cramp? It woke me up last night: I was in agony - and I just couldn't prise the toes on my right foot apart. It took around an hour off and on of me hopping about before the nerve pain that accompanied the muscular spasm abated. I had a repeat episode this afternoon while I was cleaning the fridge: it really is paralysing. Could it be dehydration, I wonder? I've been really good better than usual with water today, and I added some salt to lemonade after the second bout (isn't that supposed to be the thing to do when you're dehydrated?) but I'm dreading the onset of further cramps. I might have to have an all-night vigil Sad.

I hope everyone's having a good Saturday.

Back to my blowout Grin >>>>> (and my crampy toes Sad)

Karbea · 24/11/2012 16:33

vivid you should put your foot in warm water, also it's to do with dehydration.

For lunch today I had a big mac and fries and this afrnoon I had the apple pie! But, as none of these thing are on my list yet I'm ok :) didn't run today as it's the rest day.

I'm watching the mad men series one box set.

Can I join you tomorrow? I'm just waiting for a Chinese takeaway to be delivered and had 3 wagon wheels this afternoon!

I'm very motivated by you all and plan to do

  1. Shred 3 times a week
  2. Loads of water (I sit next to a water cooler at work so there's no excuse)
  3. Walk a mile with the dog every day
  4. Keep off the chocolates
  5. Soup for lunch every day

gingefringe welcome! Your list sounds good, look forward to hearing how you do in the coming weeks :)

Morning all!

How are your weekends fairing? Good I hope!

I've just run for 60mins so feeling good! I sneakily weighed myself earlier and haven't lost an oz! Annoying as I've not had chocolate since my blip on Tuesday, but then I did have mcds and ribs yesterday (thanks DH!!!!)

Quick round up!

Sunday : no alcohol
Monday : no choc/crisps
Tuesday : no caffeine
Wednesday : ran
Thursday : portion of fruit with breakfast
Friday : body brushing
Saturday : flossing and mouthwash.

Today I think it'll be night eye cream as I'm rubbish at remembering...

Happy Sunday to one and all! And remember if its not on your list yet it's not bad ;)

Monday - cleansing skin properly
Tuesday - no chocolate
Wednesday - 2 litres of water per day
Thursday - no sugar
Friday - no alcohol

Well... I've stuck to cleansing my skin properly, had 2 litres of water most days, and no alcohol.... However I've had chocolate twice, and a massive blueberry muffin yesterday Blush so no luck on the no chocolate and sugar steps Sad

I'm going to try and add more steps this week, aiming for
Monday - paint nails whenever chipped
Tuesday - no chocolate (again)
Wednesday - start using hair oil
Thursday - no pizza (this hurts me, I love pizza so much!)
Friday - no sugar (again)

On the plus side, my skin is looking loads better already, and DH has said if I want to shred he will give it a go with me :)

Dd has croup, it's been a hard 24 hours which resulted in very little sleep last night. I feel terrible!

Yesterday we went to m&s, gosh I miss that place so much! French food has nothing on the good old English stuff.

Anyway, due to dd not eating we offered her anything so came back with bags full of junk Shock

Dd didn't want anything so I ended up snacking most of the day with her to try to encourage eating.

I did however manage to stay within the 1200 cals on my fitness pal. Is anyone else using this? Perhaps we could add each other for more encouragement?

Today I had a long shower and put hair mask on and tonight will tint eyebrows/ lashes. Buff nails, face mask and generally have a pamper evening. Dh loves me doing stuff to him so will gladly join in Grin

It's an app for android/ I phone.

You basically create an account, put in your weight and target weight so you can track it.

You add your exercise and calorie intake and it will give you motivational tips and show you what you would be if you carried on the way you are going.

You can also add friends so you can encourage each other and track their progress too!

Hi can I join in?

I was trying to do the 100 day challenge from the style and beauty thread, think it was a descendant of the princessing threads, anyway have been rubbish at it but its now 4 weeks to Christmas and I am still in need of princessing/amazingness and am inspired by the gentle approach of a new good thing every day. I've got loads if exercise DVDs (shred, Tracy Anderson, Davina) and I've lost them all. Or the baby has hidden them under the fridge.... My one good thing today is to turn the house upside down, find at least one and do it.

I don't need to lose much weight, maybe half a stone or so and my plan is to do some sort of exercise every day, eat properly (cos I have a tendency to eat crap) and step up the grooming: face masks, plucking eyebrows, using body moisturisers and dry skin brushing. Not in that order.... :)

We will be fabulous by Christmas! Xx
