Will this fit the bill. Dull but seasonal?

thought that called for a name change!

Blackduck · 15/01/2013 06:06

OQ :)
I turned one year off the significant one yesterday....
No pressies (sob) no cake (the afterschoolers who are currently using my house -long story) ate it all, work (I DON'T work on my birthday), no breakfast in bed because of work, no dinner cooked (dp late) .. All in all pretty pants...

bigTillyMint · 15/01/2013 07:42

BD, sorry to hear your birthday was a fail. Maybe next year....

OQC, love the name-change!

Soooo Friday 8th!
Waterloo area is our usual haunt - is that convenient for everyone?
That nice bar in the BFI for pre drinks and then eat?
Or that other place (completely forgotten the name though I pass it fairly oftenBlush)
Or somewhere new and exciting (but quiet enough for us not to need to bring our ear trumpets)?

herbaceous · 15/01/2013 08:43

8th feb at the BFI, or that 'other

herbaceous · 15/01/2013 08:47

Sorry! Pressed rogue button on phone!

8th at BFI or 'other place' dandy for me. Maybe I'll have lost that mythical half stone by then.

Yes! I did too!

bigTillyMint · 15/01/2013 11:18

Was it Waterloo bar and kitchen? Herbs, did you suggest it?

herbaceous · 15/01/2013 15:22

I think that was it, yes. Tho there's somewhere nearby with a v similar name, but full of young people, standing up.

bigTillyMint · 15/01/2013 15:24

OK, so

Friday 8th Feb - Waterloo Bar + Grill!

What time?
I can probably do any time if DH takes DD to gym as well as picks up!

Hopefully can get there at reasonable hour, but it depends on when DP can get home.

beachyhead · 15/01/2013 16:57

I should be up earlier if I can reorganise my school run (which I willGrin). Waterloo Travelodge is looking more promising than Southwark in terms of price, but I'll pm you ruby... And any other takers of an overnight stay??

bigTillyMint · 15/01/2013 17:09

Oooh, cocktails!

IIRC, Strops stayed at a Traveldodgy really nearby - probably that one.

Yay! I'm all set for the 8th.

Let me know what time you are meeting and I will gently persuade DH to come home early.

Stropperella · 15/01/2013 21:26

Anyone going to book a table at the Waterloo Bar + Grill? Grin

What time?

Blackduck · 16/01/2013 07:31

Hello ladies, bit parky here today...
New boots arrived and I am in a quandary. I wanted a new pair of long boots, but failed to read the description properly and they are calf high and I am just not sure. Am dithering about returning them and exchanging for (a more expensive) pair....

bigTillyMint · 16/01/2013 07:41

Just to be sure, it's the Waterloo Bar + Kitchen we went to, I think! Along the road from the Old Vic. I am happy to book a table - just need numbers! I can be there by 6 - is that good?

So, smile if you're deffo in!

The Brora trousers arrived and they are wrong too.... Not sure I've grasped this online shopping too well. I have a day of 'sending back'. The shoes were good though here, though not in this weather.....

All booked for Waterloo Traveldodgy, not one of my usual ones, sad that I am. (This week I experienced the delights of Liverpool Street Traveldodgy).

Still in the grip of mock GCSE's here - we'll be free by the weekend, so we are off to Brighton for a jolly Grin
