As the first thread is nearly full, I've set up Part 2

OP posts:
yellowbottle · 17/11/2012 21:07

I meant Flowers by kenzo that I've gone off rather than florals. [Smile]

coffeeinbed · 17/11/2012 21:08
Grin Gibe the Petale Noir a sniff then.
yellowbottle · 17/11/2012 21:10

Will do! Ta for that, I just love this thread!!

yellowbottle · 17/11/2012 22:09

I noticed this place close to where I live today. I was petrified to walk in the door.... but having looked at it online and not been petrified of the prices I should probably try it...right?

Fellatio - no, never tried Jicky, I just liked the sound of it, so I've ordered a wee sample. And if I have the slightest fear that I won't like a new fragrance, then I make sure I sample it on a day when I'm not getting up close and personal with lots of people.

Which is why I tried the sample of Hypnotic Poison Eau Sensuelle today, when I've done nothing more exciting than cleaning the house, taxi-ing DD1, and scorching round Asda. And it is absolutely bogging, sweet and cloying. It keeps catching in the back of my throat. Bleurgh.

YouOldSlag · 17/11/2012 23:37

I read somewhere that Jackie O always wore Jicky.

kiwigirl42 · 18/11/2012 12:25

I'm trying a sample of Kiss Me Tender Parfums de Nicolaï . It started out smelling like ylang ylang and now smells like hay with a touch of ylang ylang. its nice but not full bottle worthy.

I'd really like to try some Montale perfumes next. There are about 76,000,000,000 different ones. I asked if they would send me a sample of their almond one but they wouldn't - I'm not sure how they expect you to try them or maybe people just buy the whole bottle blind. (I'm not rich enough to do that). I did get a sample of Sweet Oriental Dream from surrender to chance but don't like it. I need to test it again to confirm that though.

I've ordered a sample of Givency Dahlia Noir from ebay today. I have about 10 samples coming this week.

CointreauVersial · 18/11/2012 17:51

I tried Dahlia Noir in a department store recently - not bad, definitely worthy of a second try.

Today I'm wearing Noa by Cacharel, having unearthed an ancient sample from the depths of my dressing table. Nice, fresh and soft, helped me keep my cool while rustling up Sunday lunch for friends.

coffeeinbed · 18/11/2012 17:55

I managed to cover self with a real scrubber - Martin Margiela A walk on the beach.
Bloody melon-ozone nighmare.
And it sticks.
washed and washed and am still getting wafts of the stuff.
Bloody hate it.

ThatsNice · 18/11/2012 18:22

Cointreau, I love, love, love noa Smile

FellatioNelson · 18/11/2012 19:20

Right, I've blitzed the whole of Duty Free at Dubai airport today - tried every Issey Miyake going (pretty good actually, I was tempted by one or two of them, but they were a touch on the sweet/light/floral side for what I really wanted) all of the Calvin Kleins, all of the Amouages, (hideously expensive but one or two of them were lovely) and all of the Chanels (again Hmm) but I've had most of them at some point or other and I really wanted to try something new. Still came out with nothing. Confused

There is a fragrance I've loved for years that I keep smiling on other people but I never get to find out what it is. I thought it was a Calvin Klein, maybe Eternity, but no it's not. It's sort of melony but in a good way. Any ideas? It's been round for years and was very popular about 5-10 years ago.

shoeprincess2 · 18/11/2012 20:01

FellatioNelson DKNY Be Delicious? Was popular about 5-6 years ago and sort of smells melony (without you smelling like you've smeared a canteloupe over your person).

OP posts:
FellatioNelson · 19/11/2012 03:20

Oh! I tried some DKNY ones as well (forgot to mention those) and one of them was almost it, but not it. But it wasn't Be Delicious - I didn't bother to try that because I didn't like the name. Hmm I decided I probably wouldn't like it in advance. Grin

Will have to go and try that now.

FellatioNelson · 19/11/2012 03:21

smiling on other people? Hmm

I've got a new Mac Air and the bloody autocorrect is driving me nuts. It's bad enough with all the American English, but why keep changing whole words unnecessarily? Angry

FellatioNelson · 19/11/2012 04:52

I've just been reading (properly) the original thread that spawned this one. I'm less than halfway through and I'm exhausted. I feel like I've just had really great sex with a new crush. Have I got bed hair?

It's a good job I can't meet DonaAna - I think I might become an embarrassing sex pest. I can just see myself going all giggly and annoying now.

Right. If I (dress up a bit, suck my stomach in) and go into a Chanel boutique today (luckily I have one at very close quarters) how much can I expect to pay for one of those there posh exclusive jobbies?

I need to be prepared, in case I have to skulk out due to not having enough pocket money.

FellatioNelson · 19/11/2012 05:43

I am seriously thinking about ordering this just because

a) who can resist a brand called Juliet Has A gun?
b) I think the description sounds nice, and I recognize some of those ingredients in things I like.

Shall I? Will it blast my head off? I need three others to go with it. Help.

FellatioNelson · 19/11/2012 05:45

Does anyone know how long these things take to arrive? I don't have a postal service here but I have friends coming from the UK soon so they could bring it.

FellatioNelson · 19/11/2012 05:46

The trouble with being three hours ahead of you lot is that I talk to myself for hours and look like the worst kind of thread hogger. GET UP ffs. I need help.

FellatioNelson · 19/11/2012 05:52

this one sounds terrifying.

I'm having it.

FellatioNelson · 19/11/2012 05:57

Oh dear God someone save me from myself.

FellatioNelson · 19/11/2012 06:04

considered too daring and unusual for the world stage

yep, that's me all over. Hmm WTF am I doing?

FellatioNelson · 19/11/2012 06:07

Right, they are saved in my basket. I DARE not press send until DonaAna arrives to steer me away from certain death. Or lead me over the cliff edge - whichever.

coffeeinbed · 19/11/2012 07:44

Fellation, step away from the computer now.
perfume copywriting clearly does not agree with your mental health.

shoeprincess2 · 19/11/2012 09:43

Did I arrive too late? Smile

Today I am placing an order with Scent & Sensibility:-

Pentachord White
Loretta
Incense Rose
L'Air du desert marocain

Very excited. I have also been tasked with finding my partner's mum a new floral fragrance. She's not ready for niche ones yet. So, maybe a Chanel...?

OP posts:
SorrelForbes · 19/11/2012 09:53

Today I am trying (again) Guerlain L'heure bleu. I think I like it.
