Great article. Thankfully all this waxed fanjo business happened way after I was too old to care - I don't remember anyone doing that in the 80's. Bit of immac on the bikini line once a year ( and only on actual wisps) was quite far enough, thank you very much.

True enough. I ended up with an infection in my C-section wound because of a misguided attempt at 'prepping' the area (done by me, not the hospital). Should've bloody left the under-'tache alone.

I will never understand why some women think they look good with no pubic hair. I've always thought it's not only unhygienic (as that article says) but makes them look like a child. Yuk!

I can understand a little bit of trimming if the hair is tickling your knees, but shaving/ waxing it all off? No thanks!

Went for a hollywood wax the other day, don't know what the fuss is about, barely hurt at all and there was no going on all fours, it was actually done a lot more discreetly that I imagined.

As for looking like a child, that would be rather difficult considering I have breasts, hips of a woman and overall a body thats produced four children! You wouldn't say a lassie looks like a child for shaving armpits which only become hairy in puberty too, would you?

Its a personal preference and neither is 'yuck' IMO.

Actually, I would say it is a harking to a pre-pubescent look, but when it's not a sexual part of the body it is does not carry the sexual message that a hairless mons does.

And neither do legs/pits carry the health risks highlighted in OP.

Complete waxes are wrong for all the obvious reasons, I hope this trend dies the death it deserves.

If you go by that article you wouldn't shave anywhere. It states surgeons found the shaving of body parts (not just fanjo then!) increased risk of infection. I expect the armpit is a pretty warm, moist place too.

If you practice good personal hygiene (along with safe sex) I think it's just an over dramatic article.

No a full wax is not yuck. It's personal preference. I go every month and have done for years and it's not degrading or
remotely painful, nor do I go on all fours. As for looking like a child. Err no. I've got hips, boobs and I'm a mother. It's personal preference. And it stops poor dp having to engulf straggly wires during oral sex. I feel much cleaner being waxed too. So please, to all those saying its gross and childlike, grow up!

Oh and to add my gynaecologist RECOMMENDED waxing!

I actually do find shaving my legs really really dries it out. I never understood why my legs were so dry, until watching a Sali Hughes video on hair removal on the Guardian. Stopped shaving the legs, got myself a Lumea. Best decision ever. My legs are very smooth without lots of moisturiser now.

I'm a trim it down there girl though. I can't stand waxing any part of my body. Let alone my pubes.
