Hello all!

OP posts:
MarshaBrady · 07/03/2012 09:18

I haven't seen Hard Candy but love Ellen Page as an actress. Although I have always just known her as the one from Juno.

I am wearing a flippy red Sandro skirt today with Wolford opaques and Stella slouchy navy jumper. I had a rather risque walk to the school thanks the wind!

MidnightinMoscow · 07/03/2012 09:33

Thats dreadful NY, what a nightmare situation.

Marsha your outfit sounds lovely, we are pretty windy here too today.

Right, off meet my mum in a coffee shop - big latte awaits me.

MarshaBrady · 07/03/2012 09:36

thanks MiM! Having a coffee with your mother sounds soooo nice to me right now!

I mean my mother... or family.

MiM enjoy your latte!

We have 3 birthdays in a 6 week period, very bad planning! Dd is the only one who wants a party, not quite sure what we'll do. The two boys asked for tickets to see Jay-z and Kanye West for their birthdays, dh is taking them, I have warned him not to wear one of his v-neck jumpers! I think I might take them myself, that would definitely require an EA outfit.

Dh has just collected mih paris in white and mih oslo in indigo from post office, a fiver each from ebay as they were wrongly listed, yay!

My MArni plans have been scuppered, I didn't realize that dd's swimming lessons at school are starting tomorrow, and I had promised to go I'll get there by 11, hope it's not too late.

So, so cold here, I am retiring to bed with new Red and US Vogue.

Hopefully · 07/03/2012 10:34

Also smiling at Marsha having coffee with MIM's mother.

Pickled I can imagine Me & Em with shoe boots - I am planning on wearing mine with my Aldo Marant-alikes as the weather warms up.

Am gearing myself up to actually order an Oushka bag today instead of just talking about it.

Outfit here today is emphatically not impressive given rubbish weather and absence of any need to leave the house - khaki Agnes, plain cream stained t-shirt and a very old thick navy and white Scandinavian knit cardigan. And a brown scarf. Style fail.

Pseudonymity · 07/03/2012 10:41

Hello again Smile. Hope it's okay to pop in occasionally, not sure I can commit to full-time.

Bloss Re. Kooples leather collar dress. It works fine on me 'though it would probably be better on someone with a more boyish figure - mine is not as fitted on the waist as I would like. The sizing is a bit funny in there. 8 is a small, 10 medium and 12 large.

I was Shock about the Pete Doherty thing, the sales person mentioned it quite gingerly, think she didn't know how to break it to me. I am going to bury my head in the sand about it for now as I really like their stuff, though thankfully (for my credit card) a lot of the colours this season won't be any good for me.

Someone was looking for a broderie anglaise top? this also from the Kooples is really nice. I don't work for them, honest Grin.

hopefully I empathise re. the eternal maxi dress quest. I am also looking, I want something quite straight cut, in a natural, non-sheer but lightweight fabric, long enough (brushing the feet) and probably black. Isabella Oliver had one last year but I dithered and they don't have anything this year. However, I get the sense that maxi dresses won't be as ubiquitous this year as they were for the last few years, maybe I'll go for a skirt instead. I don't have a long skirt at all. Would you mind advising me on Vogue pattern sizing? I'm Shock at the sizing listed online and wondering if I should ignore and just go for my regular size.

NYE boots look good. Would love to come for tea but am madly packaging orders/listing new stuff while my mother's here. And DH has the car and it's raining. Have you got plans tomorrow? . Have SO MUCH to catch up on - we are contemplating big life change.

Pseudonymity Vogue (and most other pattern) sizing is not in line with high street sizing as they don't do vanity sizing. However, I usually find that the patterns are cut with a fraction more ease than they suggest, so don't size up too much if your measurements suggest that you ought to. A 12 is plenty big enough on me and I am approx 36/28/36 and find a 12 plenty big enough, and sometimes have to take bits in, whereas my measurements suggest I ought to be a 12 and a 14 on the waist.

Hee hee - I would look like SUCH a big ole crossdresser in those shoes - 15cm heels [omg]. Not that there is anything wrong in crossdressing should that be what floats your boat... And apparently they are not come into contact with liquid. So no rain....or G and T. Bah.....

Hi again pseudo, completely shocking re PD: makes me want to rip the page out of Glamour ! portia is another big fan of the clothes though.
I have come home for lunch after a hundred mile round trip to one of my schools. In tweed davina. Was there ever a nicer dress for work?
Catch up later.

OllieinOrange · 07/03/2012 13:26

Dear gods, yet another embarrassing encounter with the neighbour next door. Couldnt turn the lock in the door (think wood has warped) and of course my phone was inside, nice neighbour friend was out, it was pouring with rain, boys hungry etc Had to knock on neighbors door to ask if he had any WD40 (blank look) or could I use the phone to call DH and he says he will try and of course the lock decides to turn without any trouble. Honestly, the man things Im a complete idiot and I make things worse by acting one around him!

On a brighter note, I brought the boots I linked to yesterday. I really, really like them. Tried some darker tan ones similar to the KG to compare and the paler brown is definately more 'me' so the right decision i think. Will debut them this evening as Ive organised a meal for all the ladies who live in the street at a local tapas bar. 13 of us are going so it should be a nice evening.

ReineDeSaba · 07/03/2012 13:26

Yes, you can FLE.

Glad you like the stripey dress - I haven't actually worn it yet. Must do so next week!

How was the green one I linked to on you?

OP posts:
notyummy · 07/03/2012 14:18

Oh - there is a tapas place opening in our small hicksville town - and I saw two men walking down the high street holding hands yesterday. It's official - we're on the road up to Ocado deliveries and all sorts of middle class delights Grin.

Very pleased with my new grey Gap jumper which has just arrived this one here. Lovely fine knit, a high V, dropped shoulder seams - finally a casual jumper that doesnt scream frumpsville when on me. Will look good with white jeans when they awake from their winter hibernation!

Pickled need to have a proper try on but Me and Em dress looked ok with my faithful shoeboots when I had a quick try on last night. Would probably go with black opaques and shoes/boots rather than grey which could be too much.
Everything your dress search is turning into the same epic as mine. Stay strong!

Yes to living in a tapas restaurant - heaven. Think Brighton has a very good one? Smile

Reine my computer hates The Outnet - lets me on the site for 30 seconds and then loses all internet connection. Will have a look on iphone thanks.

Any news from Icey today?

Wow! Cocosa high tops here already. Good job really as I had a good look at my old ones and they look like they belong to a tramp.

Hopefully · 07/03/2012 14:36

FLE I actually tried on that DP dress on the weekend, I thought it would be lovely but the angle of the sleeve opening was just not right on my broad shoulders. Almost worth it for such a bargain price as a work dress though! Especially as would mostly wear with a jacket. Also love the colour blocking one, although a fraction too classic for me. You can return to store with DP, and I really think the one NY linked will suit you, definitely get it

Hopefully · 07/03/2012 14:38

Oooh, Outnet - saw lots I wanted on there today. Boo to not having any spare money due to purchase of dumbbells, Oushka handbag and ridiculous shorts all within the first week of the month.

OllieinOrange · 07/03/2012 15:08

Hopefully and Everything - thought this little bag was cute for you both, a good night out bag? here
