Hello all!

OP posts:
blue2711 · 06/03/2012 16:01

A dreadful night but a much better day today, thank goodness. DS charming again and I even managed to make his 10am 'art' club (small triumphs!). Wearing last SS's whistles cream /navy /metal trimmed chunky cardigan/jacket which is still love. Isn't it nice when you get something out from the year before and it still feels current and great to wear? Too often I am fickle and just want new things.

Thanks for the sunglasses tips. Sun shining beautifully here today so my need feels more urgent. I know there's no substitute for trying them on but i really don't enjoy it as literally 1 in a 100 look ok on me... I think my face is oval (well long and thin really but that doesn't sound as nice).

Impressed by the shorts purchasing hopefully and bloss. I don't think I have worn them for years except when abroad but maybe this year.

Still thinking of you mim and icey.

DD awake, back later.

blue2711 · 06/03/2012 16:25

Does anyone else ever look at this fashion blog kendi everyday? Less aspirational than Wendy but v wearable combinations and I like her love of coloured jeans.

Have found a white blouse to buy but not going to link until its purchased!

Blue bonnett owners - where did you get them from and for how much if you don't mind my asking? Are they 811 style or more legging like?

Just found out Mil is coming over this evening so DH and I can go for quick drink! Mentally planning outfit while cuddling DD. Will probably overdress for occasion! Definitely a first outing for L and L scarf.

slay so glad someone else on here is lax on the exercise front. I am in awe of bloss, ny et al. Now I just need someone else to join me in my woeful non-cooking ways Smile.

rufus101 · 06/03/2012 16:31

I can't see how peplums can look good on anyone other than a bean pole. I would fear they would draw attention to my lower half anyway. I feel they are very one season wonder anyway.
Bloss LOVE the idea of sudden weight drop, but I never seem to lose weight unless stress/ illness is involved. Have been doing it now for 2 weeks, and even with weekend blow outs reckon I have averaged staying within the limits as I like to exercise. Maybe I should just measure. I never weighed myself regularly until now. I'm 54 kg, which is what I was 10 years ago, but the specific kg I want gone is from my pear shape.
LOL at NY. Hope there are no male lurkers salivating!
Eddies too pretty for me. Michael Fassbender is my crush!
Fritzi, DH does that too! Drives me crazy. Tap, tap, tap. Aargh!

Mominatrix · 06/03/2012 16:39

Peplums look horrible even on beanpoles - case-in-point, Michelle Williams at the Oscars. I can't think of many people who look good in a peplum, and I just don't see this trend having legs.

VerityBrulee · 06/03/2012 16:41

Don't think I'll be wearing peplums.

blue I have a small face too, Raybans come in S,M and L sizes, not available everywhere but a bit of googling should find them. I have a gunmetal pair I love, sorry can't link as on phone.

mim glad you got the jacket Smile

I bought a second pair of the Aldo wedges as I love them so much, thanks fleecy!

Grin at the sweep confusion

OllieinOrange · 06/03/2012 17:19

New shoes in at H&M

I like these and these. Am obviously having a buckle moment.

MidnightinMoscow · 06/03/2012 17:21

Gaahh! DH has just texted me to say he has invited a friend over for dinner. Luckily I can stretch the meal I had planned (curry - naturally Smile) but really not up to making conversation through Braxton Hicks. Makes me wonder if DH has listened to anything I have said over the last few days....

Loved that video Verity, EA is so confident, she really does stand tall. I loved WIT's Paris dairy too, how glam to jet set on the Eurostar like that.

I laughed at sweeps for sale too, I'd buy one right now if I could. Grin

Blue the coloured jeans are lovely in that blog, she is wearing some gorgeous magenta ones which are very similar to a pair I like in Warehouse that I am hoping will still be there in a month's time. Have a lovely evening with DH.

Mominatrix · 06/03/2012 17:25

I am gaga over many things at Zara right now - particularly their shoes. I had a pair I put in my basket to think about overnight, only to find they sold out in my size in the meantime! So many things I want to buy! My problem is that I don't do impulse buying, but having this strategy in stores like Zara results in me (too frequently) losing out.

How is everyone feeling about the printed shirts mixed with (often clashing) printed trousers? Looks nice in theory, but probably ridiculous on pint-sized me!

ReineDeSaba · 06/03/2012 17:49

just popping in to wave hello and check to see if any baby news.. icey's sweeps on sale joy made me howl!

can't seem to decide on meetup outfit either..perhaps if weather made a decision it would help Confused

will try to come back later to catch up on links.

ReineDeSaba · 06/03/2012 17:50

am Envy at yummy having 19 year old model bits on her body

blossoming · 06/03/2012 18:25

Thanks for the EA video verity. Didn't like the coat personally. Like her more edgy. Would you say she is more 'natural dramatic' everything?

Can I come for prosecco too?

blossoming · 06/03/2012 18:26

Meant to say Hi to mominatrix. Welcome! Do stay!

AntPants1 · 06/03/2012 18:31

Have not had a chance to read back over thred. Just received weekly email from topshop and saw this scarf and thought of bloss

www.topshop.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?beginIndex=0&viewAllFlag=&catalogId=33057&storeId=12556&productId=4207207&langId=-1&sort_field=Relevance&categoryId=260484&parent_categoryId=208491&pageSize=20

notyummy · 06/03/2012 18:36

Yes - welcome to mominatrix. Agree with the large clashing prints. Hard to pull off - am filing with the pyjama look, personally. I love Zara and have to stay away in real life and online or purchases will follow....

To those who think I am deluded re the 19 year old model statement, I hasten to add it is around 4 square inches of stomach that I am refering to. A number of people have praised said 4 inches so I am using it to boost overall body confidence Grin.

Tell you what, a sweep would have to be really bloody cheap for me to be a taker (but as I am not pregnant I may be missing the point...)

More the merrier for prosecco I say.

Re MU outfit. I don't know either. I have a number of contenders. I am going to wait until the Thursday as weight will have stabilised, I will know weather and DH will be away overnight.....and then have a MAMMOTH trying on session and decide. Still reserve the right to bring more than option with me for a last minute dither though.

Hopefully · 06/03/2012 18:39

Ants that's a lovely scarf.

Bloss I was thinking the other day that EA is probably natural dramatic - I would absolutely wear everything she wears, but she is definitely just a fraction more dramatic than me (dramatic natural).

Liking the idea of a getting ready (in our non-existent outfits) with a glass of prosecco!

MIM your DH is officially gaga. Mine wouldn't have dared invite anyone over at that stage in case I either went into labour on them or collapsed in a hormonal tantrum at random during the evening.

I have been wearing my chan luu-alike bracelet a lot recently, will link it later. Rather pleased with it - not as special as chan luu one, but not bad for £30. Had forgotten how much bracelets please me! I may need more...

Hopefully · 06/03/2012 18:41

I am anticipating wearing the Me and Em with something for MU, incidentally. Unless something else leaps out at me before then. If anyone would like to join me in the identikit dresses club I would be very happy to accept members Grin

IceCreamCastles · 06/03/2012 18:57

Yes please do link bracelet hopefully- I need an alternative to my 'just a tiffany bangle'

You are making me so Envy with all this talk of getting ready with prosecco. I'm sure you'll all find something you look great in. Can't wait til next meet up.

MrsCampbellBlack · 06/03/2012 19:47

Oh meant to say I got a lovely chan luu one from the outnet a couple of weeks back for about £60 - have worn it loads. So worth checking there if anyone is after one but as with all the good buys -they sell out quick.

I ordered the white co wrap dress - is going straight back as too much fabric on the hips for me and my apple dumpling body Smile

Decameron · 06/03/2012 19:54

Mim, that scarf is on my list too. I think you should say aaaaah a few times over dinner and see dh's friend's reaction. :o

Pity, MrsCB, I thought that White Co dress looked good but I certainly don't need extra padding on the hips.

I need to check Cocosa each morning. I missed out on Ash hightops and the Goldsign sale.

I'm not too keen on clashing prints either, Mominatrix. Or peplums.

Have just booked an entertainer for DD1's fourth birthday party, £180 for one hour, that's a good rate! DH wants to know why we can't just do pass the parcel.

Time to eat, night all.

Dotty Ps but good fabric. For NYE.

OP posts:
notyummy · 06/03/2012 20:13

not sure this fits the brief - but a bit of a bargain!

OP posts:
blossoming · 06/03/2012 20:14

I hope the universe delivers for you everything, but in all honestly, if we can't find it, and between us we know all the stock in every possible location (well don't we?), you may need to be kind to hopefully and get her to rustle one up for you Wink

MidnightinMoscow · 06/03/2012 20:26

He's gone and DH is washing up. It was ok really and he was really good with DS too.

That colour is stunning NYE, the peplum on that one seems quite high so you might get away with it. Found this too

Hopefully · 06/03/2012 20:45

NYE that colour is beautiful, but would be wary of front-peplum-age, as it could look like you have/are trying to hide a big tummy, which I am fully aware you don't have. Hard to say though, could work really well. Difficult. Sleeve angle looks really flattering though [picky seamstress emoticon]. Ooh, NY's DP link looks really pretty.

Grin Bloss, I'll crack out the sewing machine post haste.

Goodness decameron that is more than I have spent on all three of DS1's birthdays combined! Hope he doesn't do a disappearing act for his first trick.

Icey this is my faux-luu. She doesn't have another one listed, but worth a message if you're interested as she may be able to make another one. Lots of similar ones on etsy in the UK. I missed a Chan Luu one on the outnet a while back and got bored of waiting, which is why I ordered that etsy one. Definitely need to find some more bracelets. I would very much like a couple like this stella and dot one but at about 30% of the price. And also want a heavy but really simple gold bangle exactly like my mothers. I just mentioned that to her and she informed me that (a) I can't afford that weight of gold and (b) I am not allowed to knock her on the head for it.

MIM glad you survived dinner without any water-breaking/hormonal incidents. Maybe your DH is trying to invoke sod's law to bring on labour?

Have just Shredded with 3kg weights for about 2/3 of the exercises (back down to Level 1 to build up slowly with bigger weights). Was rather proud of myself! Although in my three weeks of illness I have more or less lost the ability to do full press ups - can only do chest to the floor for about three press ups now, was able to do a full circuit of them a month ago!

I keep finding nice loose fit t-shirts to wear with my leopard print shorts, even though I am fully aware that they won't fit. I am managing to resist actually ordering them though.
