Hello all!

OP posts:
VerityBrulee · 01/03/2012 13:22

for you Bloss

pickledsiblings · 01/03/2012 13:29

Verity, you sound good today Smile, did smile at your 'navy' bruise.

Icey, get a move on, it's Spring now. Glad you baby wasn't born yesterday, it can't be fun being a 'leap baby'. My DS2 was born the day before April Fools Day, I was so glad.

Amber, good luck with the back to work chat - outfit sounds fab as usual Smile.

GrinGrin MrsCB and Blue at all the kids loving the overpriced necklace and the DHs in the dark about the cost.

Bloss, channelling you now as DH and I head out on a bike ride!! No lake nearby but we are heading to a lovely Medieval village. Wish me luck.

Russianred · 01/03/2012 13:32

Thanks for your bra tips ladies, shall have a peruse now.

Amber your outfit today sounds great. Hope that the meeting goes well and work are accommodating of you.

Lovely blazers Verity. Have you tried the arnica tablets? I'm sure they are what got me back on my feet quickly after my second CS. In fact, meant to check Icey and MiM had them in their hospital bags!

Hopefully you are very clever to be making blazers. I am a bit crap on my sewing machine and would quite like to have some lessons to make me a bit better.

That is a lovely necklace MrsCB. I have a lovely coral necklace that my grandmother gave me, that is old and probably worth something. The DC are OBSESSED with it. I hide it and they find it, every day, without fail and I hear them giggling and one of them proudly strutting around in it.

Some more advice sought now. Our playroom has its white undercoat and looks very stark. What colour to go for? It is south-facing, so lots of light and has big french doors opening onto the pile of rubble the patio. the only thing in there at the moment is the 30's fireplace which is tiled in greys and blues.

February purchases:

Blue 811s - £33 on eBay
Pink Gap skinnies - £33 ish with 30% off
Tan Aggies (yet to arrive) - £36 in sale
Whistles Grey sweatshirt - £50
Warehouse butterfly scarf - £22
Whistles fisherman trousers - £20

Wish List:

Me & Em dress
New sandals; both flat and heeled, one bright, one tan
Small neon bag
New bras (can these count as essentials?!)

Hopefully · 01/03/2012 13:39

Pickled have a nice bike ride!

Verity my blog is here

Amber hope chat goes smoothly

Icey hope you don't have to wait too long!

I have ordered a chan luu rip off type bracelet from etsy, will link if it's nice when it arrives.

I've been absolutely knackered for the last few days, properly weak. Thought it was tail end of illness, but it's just occurred to me that I haven't eaten anything that could be described as a source of iron for about a month - no red meat, no dried apricots, only the odd leafy veg, but not in the last week or two. Have bought premium steak burgers for dinner to see of it improves things. Definitely need to be a bit more careful about balancing my diet at the moment - am spread too thin to do silly things like get anaemic.

MarshaBrady · 01/03/2012 13:47

What a glorious day! In the garden for the first time, blossom about to happen.

Have ordered the MiH Paris in union navy, as I may or may not be holding up my the zip of my defunct jbrands with a large safety pin.

pickledsiblings · 01/03/2012 14:48

Marsha, have you got two trees at least 3.5m apart in your garden? If so, you need a Mexican hammock. We've got the largest size and are putting it up today, to crash in after 5 mile round trip bike ride so beautiful is the weather.

Hopefully, it is so easy to get caught up in other things and not pay due attention to ourselves and our own health and fitness, isn't it. Floradix is a fairly quick iron fix.

MarshaBrady · 01/03/2012 15:25

Excellent. that's great Pickled. I do need somewhere to lounge this summer. Lovely!

scarfaholic · 01/03/2012 15:42

That hammock looks good. Hope you enjoyed your bike ride, Pickled.

Good buy on the MIH, Marsha.

Lovely blazers, Verity.

I went out for 30 minutes and UPS left my J Brands with a neighbour I don't know and who is rarely there, I hate that.

Bloss, Selfridges will probably have your coat.

Hopefully, eat!

Red, funny about the necklace. I had to take my necklace off this morning as the baby kept trying to eat it. Are you arty, how about a mural?

Hope your meeting goes well, Amber.

DD1 seems a lot better, phew.

I was looking at Dressipi as recommended by Trills. I put in my measurements, apparently I am straight up and down (my frenemy :o told me recently that I looked like a boy!) and should avoid paperbag waist skirts, what on earth are they?! And smocks too which is not something I'm drawn to wear anyway! It was spot on really.

LK Bennett 15% off until Sunday LAUNCHSS12.

MarshaBrady · 01/03/2012 16:10

Haha at frenemy Scarfi that is brilliant Grin.

And avoiding the paper bag waist is something we should all remember to do of course.

blossoming · 01/03/2012 16:31

Probably jealous of your beauty and style scarf.

Hope you had a nice ride pickled. I was home early as the video network was down, and managed a quick ride too. Had to do a quick ghd session before braving school gates!

MidnightinMoscow · 01/03/2012 17:07

Thanks for all the reassurances and kind words. Scarf frenemy is a good word to describe the friend I mentioned yesterday.

Well, feeling more positive today. I had a conversation with the Matron for the delivery suite who was really helpful, made me feel l lot more confident and has reassured me. What a rollercoaster this is.

Red the Warehouse scarf came today, it's very pretty and lovely and big, like the leopard print one.

Hopefully, get eating. Wise ladies here told me to take some Spatone, which really did the trick.

My wish list is ever growing as I feel there is light at the end of the tunnel of maternity wear. Thanks for the MIH blouse feedback marsha by the way.

scarfaholic · 01/03/2012 18:08

What is on your list, Mim? I remember being very excited towards the end that my days of Seraphine would end imminently (oh, and because of the baby, of course :o). Glad you are feeling better about it.

Thanks Bloss, but I doubt it!

notyummy · 01/03/2012 18:10

Hello all! Just a quickie - just got off the phone with a good friend of mine who has literally (like 2 hours ago...) had her third baby after going overdue. 10lbs 6 ozs!! BUT - all fine and an uneventful VE. Am hoping the birthing vibes spread to those of you here who want them Smile.

OP posts:
Hopefully · 01/03/2012 18:25

I have literally no idea what a paper bag waist is, although I can hazard a guess... Have just googled, I was right. Not a good look on most people.

Popped into Kew today and saw some halfway nice bits. Am trying to persuade myself that this is ok colour-wise on me (the lighting in our Kew is insane - I have bought things there twice and found them a totally different shade at home). this shirt dress looked like it could be nice with a different belt and I quite fancy this bag, although I resent paying that much for bog standard high street (was nice leather though). Was really looking for some SS trousers or skirts - brief snap of mild weather and I was roasting today! May need to purchase some sandals sooner than later so I have something other than boots for warm days.

I'm such a tit - have just been googling the symptoms of anaemia and I have literally every single one going. Of course, they can all be symptoms of something else as well, but taken together, it seems reasonable to conclude that I might be a bit anaemic. Enjoyed my burger at dinner, obviously need plenty more where that came from!

scarfaholic · 01/03/2012 18:34

Luckily skinny and straight leg jeans are ok for me, phew.

I like the top and bag, Hopefully. Jigsaw have some nice bags at the moment too.

Must get DDs to bed and open wine.

blossoming · 01/03/2012 19:11

Sounds like a plan scarf!
DH has been away since 6am yesterday, and won't be back till late tomorrow. I am exhausted, haggard and shouty mum personified. But quite stylishly dressed Wink
I bought a merino square neck tunic from White co this month c£80. It is gorgeous though, and really suits me. It is straight, not the annoying ubiquitous A line. Will wear it to rugby next week.
And the scarf. I regret taking the tag off as it's too small really. Can't see me wearing it. Expensive mistake.
Any new clothes out there? Hope White Co will get some new stuff in for summer as I want to replace the fab top I got last year. Intend to have a glass of wine and through boden with a fine tooth comb as I have a voucher.

blossoming · 01/03/2012 19:20

navy twist front top, nice ollie!

Slaymill · 01/03/2012 19:22

Like the look of the Kew goodies Hopefully slight Alexa vibe to that bag and good price also love the Zara blazer.

I like the J.Crew Navy Bag Celine copy and have already bought this Whistles tote here.

To go with my Wendy style top

Feeling a little sorry for myself as DP was due home for a few days now tells he will not be back until April.

scarfaholic · 01/03/2012 19:34

I got a £5 Boden voucher but spent it on DD1. I ordered this blouse but it is out of stock at the moment.

Aw, that's a shame he won't be home, Slay. I like the bag (they also have a lovely navy satchel) and top. It didn't hang right on me, the top, that is.

blossoming · 01/03/2012 19:34

Thanks for the link verity Smile

blossoming · 01/03/2012 19:40

That must be tough slay. The top looks nice.
I don't think I've bought anything in boden since my style day. I did like the geometric wrap top in the grey. I think that would have really suited me, with my white pencil skirt for summer) but it sold out really quickly.
I'm struggling right now to find anything I like. Anywhere.

pickledsiblings · 01/03/2012 19:41

Slay, I want that top! Thanks for linking.

Trying to find some heels for spring. Quite fancy these shoe boots and these Aldo heels. To wear with Me & Em and probably a wrap dress that i'm making. Thoughts? I should probably go to an actual shoe shop, especially as I also quite fancy these for uber casual slobbing with the DSs.

Slay that's rubbish, it must be so hard flying solo for that kind of length of time.

GeorginaWorsley · 01/03/2012 21:21

D lurking to say am loving some of the links!
Like the Mint Velvet navy tee, have a nearly identical one from Jigsaw last year.
Also have a Boden voucher to spend...may get white jeans in homage to Mrs CBGrin
