Hello all!

OP posts:
Slaymill · 29/02/2012 16:07

Thank you :) scarf I`ll check out the blue MIH. Sends lots of get well vibes to your DD.

I have Wrap, White Company and Boden catalogue to peruse this afternoon. I still have a present(clothes) from DP unopened which I might get around too. Its not that I`m ungrateful its just his choice might not be mine.

Amber my MIL brings her own food here and offers to buy me something or bring something over like a cooked chicken and salads. Second the indoor picnic idea.
Look forward to hearing about your HOC session.

Also love the sound of your oufit pink 811s coral or shocking pink ?

bloss my name without boring the pants off you is a mixture of two favourite ppls nicknames first part is my DP nickname shortened and last part is my fathers nickname shortened.

Hopefully · 29/02/2012 16:09

Amber they definitely need to go out to lunch, or you could get them deli stuff as Dauphin says if you'll spend the day panicking that he'll feed her spaghetti hoops Grin

Have spent an enjoyable afternoon making a toile (mock up, basically) of a blazer pattern to fine tune - am planning on making at least two blazers for summer and want the fit perfect. DH has the day off and has constructed a 'ticket office' from a massive cardboard box. DS1 is in seventh heaven.

blossoming · 29/02/2012 16:26

RMA swinging it's way over. I was completely swamped in the coat. Feel annoyed as it said it was slim fitting and true to size, so went for the 12, and 10 is sold out. Lovely quality though. Wore my BR today, and it looked very shabby next to it! Ah well.

AmberNectarine · 29/02/2012 18:44

It will be nap time so going out not an option, and though we have an excellent deli locally and I love that sort of thing there will be snarks about the lack of 'proper' food. Will just do something simple the day before like Cacciatore that can be reheated.

notyummy · 29/02/2012 18:45

Dauphin- I do like the sound of that lunch!

OllieinOrange · 29/02/2012 19:22

Me too NY, I keep thinking about rustic bread with chrizo slices on it.

Shame about the trenchcoat Bloss. Hope another ones comes your way soon.

FritziGreenEyes · 29/02/2012 20:04

bloss Shame about the coat. Could you go to Burberry at MU weekend and try on different size?

amber The last thing you need is MIL stress. Don't let it get to you.

Watching Desperate Housewives, drinking red wine on an almost empty stomach , waiting for DH to come home.

Russianred · 29/02/2012 20:16

Another treat of an MiL there Amber! Make sure you take your time at the HoC afternoon.

How irritating about the trench coat Bloss. A trip there on the 17th seems like a very good idea.

Hope Dd is feeling better Scarf.

Verity hope that bruise isn't causing too much pain. Ouch.

Can I please have recommendations for some everyday bras (am a 32D). Plain, non-fussy (I can't bear lace/mesh/anything else against my skin) and easy to wear please!

IceCreamCastles · 29/02/2012 20:30

Sorry to hear your sad news Verity - agree it sounds like she had a fitting send off. Hope you're not too achey.

Oh no Bloss - hope you can find one in your size.

Good luck with the MIL Amber.

You are very clever to be able to make blazers hopefully. Would love to see the finished articles.

Hello slaymill and welcome back NYE

Have had quite a few cramps today which are probably nothing to get excited about but better than nothing. Will of course update everyone if any further progress occurs!

I really do feel for you MiM - you have had a horrible time of it. I hope everything goes smoothly for you from here.

Red - Calvin Klein bras are good.

Hopefully · 29/02/2012 20:58

Icey I'll definitely link photos if I ever actually finish them Grin. I can see me having to purchase a cheapy H&M one just to see me through until they're finished if there's a sudden warm spell!

Red I really like Panache bras, I have bought a plain nude and a patterned one (but not lace) from figleaves in the last few weeks.

Bloss what a shame about the coat! Definitely a good idea to try some on in London if you've got time on MU weekend.

I am under my calories on MFP for the first time ever and am wondering if it has anything to do with being seriously lacking in energy tonight, especially for Shred. Think I need to make an effort to eat more low gi/decently nourishing food throughout the day as well as just taking in the right number of calories. Ho hum.

Emo76 · 29/02/2012 21:17

hi everyone. can't keep up so apologies if I miss anything in my speed read but I did want to say verity I am so sorry to hear your news and mim hang on in there, thinking of you in these last few weeks. looking forward to hearing your baby news soon! miniscarf get well soon vibes!

Work is busy, pressured, same as same as. Like Ants I am carrying a heavier load than usual in my case due to colleagues leaving. I have decided to take a day of on Friday to do my admin and chill out a bit - I am taking things a bit too seriously at times outside of home.

olly are you watching the football? Scott Parker is a bit of a dish isn't he?!

AmberNectarine · 29/02/2012 21:57

Have just ordered mrsCB's NL suede Dicker a likes as they were reduced to £30 here

What a shame re. trench bloss, hope it finds it's way to you somehow

DS steadfastly refusing to go to bed so am watching Toy Story 3 with him. Is nice to have cuddle, but where's my evening?!

AmberNectarine · 29/02/2012 22:00

Will be watching responses to red's query with interest, though as the people at Bravissimo have diagnosed me as a 30EE it will probably be trickier. Hoping they will settle down when no longer feeding. Cannot wait to be shot of these skanky nursing bras.

MarshaBrady · 29/02/2012 23:22

Verity hope you are ok, sorry to hear the sad news.

Am up too late again doing stuff. But MiM I'm not sure if I'm keeping the MiH shirt. The collar is a bit flimsy and I really don't like that. Quite light and nice, so will ponder over it some more.

MrsCampbellBlack · 01/03/2012 07:41

Chantelle very good for bras and also Simone Perele

MrsCampbellBlack · 01/03/2012 07:44

Oh wearing shourouk necklace today. DS2 adores it. DH took one look and said 'is that the fashion sweetie - hope you didn't pay much for it' Hmm

blue2711 · 01/03/2012 09:22

That made me laugh mrscb! A 2yo little girl told me at DS's gym club yesterday that she loved it. My DH would be horrified if he knew how much it cost.

My February tally is actually less restrained than I thought...
Shorouk necklace c.£120
Grey leopard skinnies eBay c.£35
Stripy whistles sweater £50

But a clean slate to start again now it's March!

ReineDeSaba · 01/03/2012 09:58

mim your friend is being silly, there is no one 'right' way to do birth or raising children.she wants to feel secure about her choices so trashing otheres.

icey are you queue jumping mim !

scrafi hope your DD1 is on the mend..lots of horrid bugs around at the moment.

welcome slaymill

great code florence pop in again soon!

blue think I forgot to say wow! at how quickly you got back into your jeans.

emo not suprised it's hard for you keeping up with thread..I struggle as SAHM

am soooo excited now for MU

gorgeous sunshiney day on the cards in lLondon.

ReineDeSaba · 01/03/2012 10:01

dauphin great lunch idea for easier catering..will remember that for future.

ollie ,amber and red hope your tricky times lift soon, you are all superjugglers and need to keep your needs in mind too.

ReineDeSaba · 01/03/2012 10:04

keep meaning to say pickled gave me some brilliant advice re DD1 at last MU and it all came good as(wise lady that she is)predicted.

hopefully brilliant that you're business is doing swell.you seem in a great place right now.

IceCreamCastles · 01/03/2012 10:09

Reine- not at all! I am 5 days overdue now so merely banishing MiM back to her rightful place in the baby queue Wink

Nothing else to report and midwife wouldn't do a sweep today as head is too high still.

Slaymill · 01/03/2012 11:04

Hope the W&A babies make an appearance soon both mine were early so I can imagine the frustration.

Thank for hello`s Reine and Icey :)

I am taken with the Shorouk necklace ( good choice MrsCB and blue) after seeing it on WITs`s site. Wonder if it would suit the more top heavy figure ?

Speaking of which I do like the Prima Donna bras and underwear generally.

AmberNectarine · 01/03/2012 11:17

On way into office to have the return to work chat. Wearing grey jersey TS blazer, cos Breton, nudie high kais and grey jalouse. Have accessorised with red McQueen scarf, grey leopard Mulberry and rose gold MK watch. Hopefully I look like I mean business (in a casual way). Then going to have lunch with DH followed by a spot of light browsing. Out this evening as well, so not a bad day, although did have to get up at half five to do housework, and have to find time to do an online shop which I suspect will be when I get home tonight.

February tally:

NL boots: £30
Cos tops: £29
Gap haul (lilac skinnies, two stripy jumpers): £90
TS blazer: £40
Navy Supergas: £40

So actually a very low key month for me, but after last month it had to be really!

Wish list reads like this:

verity's Aldo trainers
A pink T shirt from TS
Grey jeans
Neon Stella Sandals
A lovely dress (thinking CeMe, IO or possibly Marant)
A tasselled scarf from Jigsaw
Seam back T & polka dot sweater from Whistles.

VerityBrulee · 01/03/2012 13:16

Oooh, Icey I didn't realize you are overdue

Thanks for all the good wishes ladies, you are all fab Smile

Back is a little better today, I am piling on the arnica! Can't wear my aldo's though Amber They are taunting me from the corner, flats only for the moment. Your outfit sounds great!

Ollie definitely wait until you get to London, the navy was in stock in the Hermes concession in Brown Thomas. How crazy to want you to pay 250 Euro. I have ordered a raspberry strap for 150E but it will take 6 months!

How disappointing about the Burberry Bloss although it might be more fun to buy it in RL from Bond St!

Had a good trip to Zara, lots of new stuff was arriving this morning, I got 2 jackets, I really love this navy blazer and this is similar in cream . I'm all blazered out now! Also got a pair of the olive Khakis in Gap, the sizing is insane, I got a UK 6 Shock.

Beautiful day here, sunny and mid, but there is frost and sleet forecast for the weekend Confused

VerityBrulee · 01/03/2012 13:20

Blue and MrsCB I missed your necklace, sounds lovely.

I came across this tutorial for making Chan Luu style bracelets, looks a bit fiddly but worth a try.

Hopefully great sewing! I've just got a new iMac and lost lots of links from my laptop, would you link to your blog again please? Smile
