Hello all!

OP posts:
blossoming · 29/02/2012 12:19

Sorry you're having a week of it verity. Sounds the same fall as my MiL's. She is resting this week. Hope she can babysit Saturday though.

FritziGreenEyes · 29/02/2012 12:32

verity Sorry to hear about your Mum's friend.

I want this linen shift dress. Or to be more precise: I want to be that woman, serving pasta to her two happy girls while holding pencils in her hand (?), on a gorgeous summer's day under an overgrown pergola.

blue2711 · 29/02/2012 12:38

Sympathy for ticket / yoghurt annoyance ny. Hope your day improves.
Sorry to hear of your loss verity. Falls are horrid, really shake you up. Hope the bruise fades quick!

FritziGreenEyes · 29/02/2012 12:41

notyummy Hope you can get some rest from yoghurt/train ticket fiasco on your journey back tonight.

nye Forgot to say that I love your potential MU outfit.

Hopefully · 29/02/2012 13:01

Fritzi I'm not sure you'll get all of that for £85 Grin

Bloss how is the trench?

Verity what sad news, how awful for you all. Sounds like a very special funeral though.

MiM hope you're feeling ok today.

My February spends have been really rather restrained:

  • Couple of bracelets from Etsy that I am waiting for - £30-ish
  • Aldo ankle boots - £75
  • three bras/pants - £130

That's actually it, how lame! At least I can shop guilt free in March Grin

Have just had my hair cut, she's done a really good job, exactly what I wanted (a slightly shorter and more angled bob than last time)

Hopefully · 29/02/2012 13:04

Oh, and the Me & Em dress, of course! Brings my total up to a rather less restrained £380 for the month Blush

scarfaholic · 29/02/2012 13:05

Blue, I love white jeans too (skinny à la Liz). I might get topshop baxters as if they get wrecked, it's not the end of the world. These are the sandals. I have a Harvey Nicks voucher which will make the price less painful!

Lovely dress, Bloss. I like the wrapover dresses too.

DD1 has just gone for a nap, first time in years. She will only have small sips of water, nothing else.

scarfaholic · 29/02/2012 13:09

Where are you off to on Sat, Bloss? We are also supposed to go out on Sat night if Emilia is better, just somewhere local as we have a new babysitter coming.

scarfaholic · 29/02/2012 13:13

Oh, MIH are holding a sample sale at MiH Jeans, The Studios, 186 Shepherds Bush Road, London W6 7NL 7-9th March.

OllieinOrange · 29/02/2012 13:19

Does anyone have the code for the Boden Summer Preview? Want to order the French Knot top but its not applying the advertised 20% off and free P&P at checkout so think I need a specific code?

Back later after catching up. Just recovering from a shopping trip with DSs to get their feet measured which of course ended up in a toy shop. I held out when large lego/playmobil models were being thrust in front of me but caved when DS2 held up a little packet of lego people saying they could be his new friends...bless.

scarfaholic · 29/02/2012 13:20

Ollie, the code is PRUK.

blossoming · 29/02/2012 13:26

I had to get back to work without opening the box hopefully. Feels like spring here. Proper trench, rolled up sleeves weather.
Just mountain biking scarf. Next two w/ends are out due to rugby and MU.

Dauphin · 29/02/2012 13:43

Hello...sorry to hear about your loss Verity. It's so awfully heartbreaking and unbelievable when you lose someone....look after yourself. No more falling downstairs....!

Red/Hopefully...I do agree with TV. DS gets completely absorbed by it and it does affect his behaviour so we try not to switch it on too much (DH loathes TV anyway), and luckily DDs not really bothered. Having said that it was a good distraction when I was looking after a newborn and had two toddlers running around so Blue am with you on that.

Scarfi - nice sandals...which Barbour did you get? I missed that!! Yes, Bloss....fill us in on Burberry (we expect photos you know!)

Had a lovely walk this morning with DD2, and then took her to the park. Caught the local hunt. Was a lovely sight. And, my lovely DH came home with a huge bunch of my favourite Tulips last night....was very pleased...awww....

Dauphin · 29/02/2012 13:48

Sorry you are having a bad day NYummy. You know whenever I see that presenter I think of you. You've mentioned your liking for him before! I think, 'oh, that's notyummy's bloke!'

Hello NYE....I'd personally buy the Acquascutum mac if you can...such a find! Maybe they might reduce price a smidge?

Hello Slay....!

OllieinOrange · 29/02/2012 13:48

Hi NYE those shoes are great and very you. Would look great with the dress if its a keeper. You are so good at tracking down stylish bargains.
MiM big hugs to you today, just because.
NY what a crappy sounding start to the day. Hope it got better?
Verity really sorry to read about your family friend but what a lovely tribute to her at the funeral. Navy blue bruise made me smile. I tried the Cape Cod watch on in a deot store here and asked about the navy strap. They were a bit huffy about it saying Hermes didnt do one, so I said "actually they do, my friend has it" so out came the catalogue and there it was. Ha! (Would cost over 250e for me to get it sent from France though so will look in London and at the airport!)
Marsha Im not a jewellery person either but Gwyneth Paltrow was wearing a lovely cuff at the Oscars this week.

Im looking forward to trying some of the White Company stuff on in London. I love the look of a couple of the jersey dresses but find elasticated waists often dont suit me - either too high or add too much width to an already wide area!
Am making a decision about the Joseph dress this evening when DH is around.

Dauphin · 29/02/2012 13:50

Fritzi - I love that dress and it is on my wishlist too. So effortless. I have 2 similar ones from previous seasons and always get flattering comments on them.

Dauphin · 29/02/2012 13:52

Ollie could you get the London shop to agree to buy in the navy version, and agree to buy on approval...?

OllieinOrange · 29/02/2012 13:54

Great, thanks Scarf. Hope DD gets better soon. Ive been amazed how how white and stain free Ive been able to keep my white jeans.
Dauphin there are an abundance of tulips in the markets over here at the moment - 50 blooms for around 3 pounds. Its one of the best things about living here! I love Spring.

Amber I fully expected to stop having our cleaner when DS2 started school but DH insisited we kept one citing his "Happy Wife, Happy Life" mantra. Try that on DH?

scarfaholic · 29/02/2012 13:55

Very nice of Monsieur le dauphin! I bought this Barbour in Heathrow. It was a bit of an impulse buy but I like it. Still like the Kate jacket we both have too!

scarfaholic · 29/02/2012 13:58

I was going to order the Boden white skinny jeans but they are not in stock for ages. There is a really good Joseph on Brompton Road, they might have your dress in a 12, Ollie.

AmberNectarine · 29/02/2012 13:59

Argh got bloody MIL here on Sat who will wind me up by fussing over DH because he's had this virus, making pointed comments about him working so hard. Because obviously I sit on my arse doing f.a. all day while the house cleans itself, the children feed themselves and food regenerates in the cupboards. And I'll have to bust my arse to cook a fancy lunch for them before I go out to HOC because when I mentioned making lunch to DH he quite cheerfully said he'd do 'something from the freezer' and I can just imagine her face when she sits down to fishfingers and spaghetti hoops. Sigh. I have long issues with MIL after she accused me of being a gold digger after DH and I got together Hmm He earns well but we're not talking premiership footballer. She also has no social niceties and will stay until about 10pm in spite of numerous comments from us re. early nights. Hiss.

Something to look forward to at home time bloss

It was me doing HoC slay, will report back.

Also me with spot trousers blue mostly worn with the bloss slinky whistles top and pistols or a cream chunky knit.

Have sought order in chaos with outfit today. Grey TS Don Johnson blazer, grey Vince T, pink 811s, navy Supergas and black/blue McQueen skull scarf. Possibly a bit much for baby clinic and rhyme time but there you go.

Am seeking cleaner recs from friends, you will be glad to hear!

scarfaholic · 29/02/2012 14:02

I think your dh and mil should go out to lunch, Amber so your relaxing afternoon can start early and in peace. I need navy Supergas too, you have reminded me. My pink ones make me feel like the DDs.

AmberNectarine · 29/02/2012 14:02

Condolences verity and hope your (stylish) bruise fades fast!

Poor DD, scarf, hope she feels better very soon.

Dauphin · 29/02/2012 14:10

Scarfi - I like that jacket, very much. I have the Barbour Summer Liddesdale in black, which I like too. Yes, I have white Supergas but would like navy.

Hope DD is better Scarf...horrid bugs!

Amber - get DH either to do as Scarf suggests, or ask him to make lunch. Either that or ask DH to go to a nice deli and have a deli 'table picnic' type lunch...artisan bread (oh god, I sound like Gwynnie), salami, good hams, wonderful cheeses, pickles, chutneys, fruit, and then to a patisserie for a wonderful tart. Done. Either that or feign sickness.... Wink

scarfaholic · 29/02/2012 14:11

Thanks, she is still asleep, poor little thing.

Do your kids ride, Dauphin? I used to hunt when I was a child (the children's hunts so draghunting, no animals hurt) and they were great fun.
