Inspired, eh?!

OP posts:
MrsCampbellBlack · 23/02/2012 16:33

Blue - we are such style twins - I am awaiting delivery of that necklace with baited breath.

And wow to being back in your jeans already!

MrsCampbellBlack · 23/02/2012 16:35

Have also been looking at the mih paris in the red for ages as colour looks lovely and muted . . .

OllieinOrange · 23/02/2012 16:44

Red glad to read DD on the mend but sorry to hear you are now poorly. My friend goes to a different Book Club and apparently one of the members caused a huge row by saying she would have done the same as Hilly in The Help and had a seperate loo built. WTF? Hope your meeting is a little less rowdy!

Blue I loved your love post. Sounds like you are coping so well. Necklace is a lovely treat.

Tiny bit nervous, My Wardrobe have now sold out of the Joseph dress (have been obsessing checking) and I havent had a dispatch note yet. There was a delay as they needed me to email proof of my overseas address which i did this morning.

Dauphin · 23/02/2012 16:50

Thank you Blue....Majorca is the other option...just want some sun!!! I shall have a look.

Amber...go girl! Love the idea of a mulberry clutch at the park...

Red...oh, the stress of the last couple of days must be taking its toll. Keep well. Your book club sounds very organised. I fear ours is a drinking club really. We spend about a minute talking about the book. Just finished 'Before I go to sleep' - scary!.

Just bought some beautiful teak garden furniture...we needed a much larger table, and so have one that extends to 10, with 2 carvers and 8 chairs. Lets hope for a summer where we can use it! And the new house finished to go with it!

Yesterday, bought a lovely white poplin shirt/blouse from local boutique which I am wearing already as have been out with dh today. Am wearing with heather coloured skinny cords and silver grey cashmere cropped cardi. Oh, and pale grey suede brogues.

Er, my daughter (4), and just walked into the kitchen Naomi Campbell hip swingingly model-like, and said, 'Walk, walk, walk,..pose' and struck a very next top model convincing pose. As she has never witnessed her mother doing so, (honest), or indeed watched NTM I do wonder where she gets it....On that basis a leather jacket at 7 seems entirely reasonable Annie Grin

Ooh, just made sausages for tea (proper homemade), and they are really rather nice.

scarfaholic · 23/02/2012 17:02

Dauphin, very funny about your DD. I like the sound of your outfit.

Blue, well done on getting back in your jeans. It's a good feeling!

Amber, way to go.

My friend has just been here and laughed at my freezer full of Annabel Karmel meals for DD2. I learnt my lesson with DD1.

Ollie, glad you got the discount and I am sure My-Wardrobe won't let you down. It's a lovely dress. I got your pm, thanks. I can just imagine what my dh would say so will have to decline, unfortunately.

Red, great your DD is home. My brothers both had bad asthma as children and I had to call an ambulance for one of them one scary night when our parents were away, but they have grown out of it now and haven't had attacks in years.

MIH Paris in black are on my list too, along with a Weekend Maxmara dress, a Wrap dress, three Nicole Farhi tops and a couple of Whistles tops. Better get saving/ebaying again.

Hopefully · 23/02/2012 17:47

What a day! Have just got off the phone to NHS Direct. Poor DS2 has had a horrible temp all day and we just can't get it down. However, no other alarming symptoms, so advice is just to keep an eye on it. On the plus side, it's distracted me fromo being ill Hmm

Scarf that sounds like a good wish list.

Ollie I'm sure My-W wouldn't be so cruel! Hope you get your dispatch notice soon.

Amber own up, you had to leave early because you were cold and failing to interact with your DC at all. And all because you had a clutch Grin

Blue wow at being back in your jeans! Well done! Sounds like you are doing admirably. How is your DS finding it all?

Annie I can't think of anything worse than spreading out the children Grin. The baby stage does nothing for me (obviously I love them very much etc, just find it so bloody hard), but I love pretty much everything for 6 months onwards. If we have another we will get it out of the way in the next year or two I think, but still haven't decided whether we want to go for it. Three somehow seems such a luxury in the way two isn't!

Am going to try on Pure Collection shirt again when the DSs are in bed and make a decision. The colour really is very good on me.

MarshaBrady · 23/02/2012 19:15

Ollie good work on June mu. How exciting!

Amber I don't think I have any treats left to give up. Oh ok maybe alcohol but the MU is during lent so that won't work.

Reine oh no on falling ill again, glad you had a lovely half term.

Blue so pleased you and like the MiH Paris jeans... and Scarfi and MrsCB too. I am going for Union Navy. There seem to be loads on the website, but will probably stick to the ones I saw at Donna Ida. They are a bit longer than I thought they would be, just above the ankle.

Lovely outfit Dauphin.

It means I really need to fix this summer shoe problem. I tried Lanvin pumps again today, wedges are out. But there is something about flats and my feet that makes me think of boats. Not good!

Hopefully oh no, hope your ds2 is ok.

I started my SS shopping today! Was so enthralled by the weather I suddenly realised there's loads I would like to get.

Ok got to find links.

MidnightinMoscow · 23/02/2012 19:56

Hello.

Am hoping that Icey's absence means that something is happening for her....fingers crossed.

Feeling better today, have not taken any codeine at all. Knew I needed to stop taking it when I though my bedside cabinet was the dishwasher yesterday. Blush.

That sounds like a lovely outfit Dauphin, like the sound of a poplin blouse. Grin at your daughter doing the catwalk.

Red so glad you are home and that DD is taking the inhaler well. Hope you manage to look after yourself over the coming days though.

Your post made me smile Blue, you sound so happy. What a lovely place to be in.

Took delivery of the MD blouse today which is really pretty, would recommend. Also Red's breton jumper from Whistles came too (ordered in secret), which I love and think I'll wear loads.

Right - DH cooking dinner (again)...I'm going to have to make this up to him!

Big wave to everyone else. Ollie I did get the PM, thank you!

MarshaBrady · 23/02/2012 19:56

I fell in love with an orange Céline bag and had to be talked down by dh. I made him say 'free time' to me three times. So I would remember. And they got me all in a tizz by Matches saying last one left, last one. Which was madness and glad I got some air in Sandro because Selfridges obviously has loads!

Marant blazer, blue printed pouffy jacket, Carven biker all not good for me.

Saloni dress is a maybe (in the sale) item. As very expensive and it's a bit much for school run.

Ah can't find the Sandro jumper now either. Bah. And why isn't this Céline bag on any website Confused.

Then bought loads of Chanel makeup. - vitalumiere aqua, base shine stuff, concealer, lip balm and Spring lipstick. That's a first for me, SS lipstick!

So bag. Have narrowed down to Céline orange, Phillip Lim chartreuse clutch, Marni slouch. Wish I could find links be great to get opinions.

Then MiH Paris, scarf for hair and white shirt and solving shoe dilemma.

scarfaholic · 23/02/2012 20:03

I had the Mih paris last summer and returned them (why do I do this?).

I tried on your Massimo Dutti top the other day, Mim, it's lovely. I had just blown all my money on the bag so had to walk away. :o

Hopefully, I think you should keep the shirt, in fact I may get it myself as have a velvet blazer but nothing to go with it! Hope you all get well soon.

Does anyone have a 25% Pure Collection discount code? MrsCB's code didn't work for me.

Verity, that Maje top is gorgeous.

Beautiful dress, Marsha. I love Chanel make-up, I restocked in the airport.

scarfaholic · 23/02/2012 20:04

I haven't given up anything for Lent, I don't have a sweet tooth and wine is very necessary at times so that can't go!

blossoming · 23/02/2012 20:27

LYY12 in my catalogue but only 15% off scarfi.
I would like some Chanel sunglasses this year as I'm working. Wanted some last year but didn't have the funds. Also, if all goes well with mfp, and I keep six week six pack-ing and biking, I'm going to order the gorgeous violet lake bikini I went on and on about last year too! Might order it now as low stock.
The stuff I ordered last week from JL never came, so checked again and no recollection of the order at all. Very strange. So have ordered the seam back tee and the square silk scarf again. Got paid today.

MrsCampbellBlack · 23/02/2012 20:32

My diet's going well - zara jeans in pale grey i bought a few weeks back feel a bit too big Smile

Just another 7lbs to go or to be honest - another 5lbs and I'd be happy.

Bloss - I've done that with orders too - normally because I've clicked away before they've finished all the verifying stuff . . .

blossoming · 23/02/2012 20:37

Well done mrscb. I don't care how much I weigh just want to get rid of the belly fat!

MrsCampbellBlack · 23/02/2012 20:41

Its always the last bit to go on me too Bloss.

scarfaholic · 23/02/2012 20:46

Thanks Bloss. I will hang on for 25%. Chanel sunglasses are the nicest, I think.
I ordered the Whistles black t-shirt while bored in the playground, you have just reminded me.

Hopefully · 23/02/2012 20:47

I am enjoying the upside of being poorly - instant weight loss Grin. Hope some of it sticks after I'm well again. I have a reasonably flat stomach, despite CS, but my saddle bags are to die for. You could store provisions for a month in them. They are my nemesis.

I am going to make a blazer and am toying with the idea of leather/different fabric lapels a la Wendy. Wanky or cool? Am fabric shopping on Saturday and am trying to decide.

scarfaholic · 23/02/2012 20:54

Sounds cool, Hopefully.

My 8 mo still can't sit up and has no teeth but she has started saying mamma (to DH as well :)). I can hear her practising now through the monitor.

notyummy · 23/02/2012 20:54

Ah saddlebags...I can join the club too Hopefully..

I saw Icey on FB 3/4 hours ago so prob no baby news yet I suspect.

Berocca for all the poorly people.

Mad day. So much to do!

scarfaholic · 23/02/2012 20:55

Mim, I have just noticed the bit about the dishwasher! Glad you are feeling better.

AmberNectarine · 23/02/2012 21:08

I vote cool hopefully

My DD is just about sitting (wobbly though) and is a champion raspberry blower, no words yet though. DS still won't say mama/mummy, even though he has a pretty good vocabulary now. I suspect it's deliberate, though what I've done to deserve it I don't know.

Shamelessly copied verity today and bought the TS blazer in grey. Very nice, and think it will be v useful.

Park trip ended in tears when DS threw his dummy (I know) in the river to the geese, then took umbridge when I didn't dive in after it. To be fair I ventured onto a frozen pond for it a couple of weeks ago. He never normally takes it out with him, so why he had it in both those stupid situations I don't know.

OllieinOrange · 23/02/2012 21:13

Well done on the weight loss MrsCB. I finally got around to ordering the Clean and Lean book today. Are you shredding as well?

I cracked this evening, DH is out and I cooked pasta with a blue cheese sauce and had 2 slices of garlic bread and a sneaky glass of wine too. Now watching Raymond Blanc whilst scoffing smartie mini eggs.

Scarfi just realised Ive been calling you Scarfaddict instead of Scarfaholic!!! Sorry.

Hope DS gets better quickly Hopefully

Can breathe a sigh of relief, got the dispatch note from MW.

MarshaBrady · 23/02/2012 21:21

Does anyone have anything very sheer. I love a pretty shirt but it's light and see through.

What do you wear under your sheer thing?

notyummy · 23/02/2012 22:22

Fab article in the Guardian about Oscar dresses - some excellent dress porn, plus very funny to boot:

here.

IceCreamCastles · 23/02/2012 23:07

Hello, I'm here- nothing exciting to report! I am attempting to give up daytime mumsnetting (and chocolate) for lent. Not site either will last once baby's here.

Have been out for a meal tonight so will catch up tomorrow evening!
