Sorry for poor thread title but I am hopeless at rhyming at the best of times...
Unbelievable how quickly we filled the last thread!

Had one hour on Friday before the meeting started and used my time very efficiently and bought these. They are not quite as high as the 50/50s but suit me better. Was hugging the shopping bag close to me on the train back home yesterday Grin.

ollie Such a shame that your DH isn't going to go with the job offer over here. Oh, the fun we could have!

hopefully Having you on this thread is great and I enjoy reading your posts a lot. I hope your mother doesn't find any more tidying tasks for you today. You look fab in your wedding pictures.

annie Hope you got all your work done last night and have the chance to get some rest today.

red We have our hob on our kitchen island too. We couldn't decide on backsplash for ages. Haven't had one for ages and it is absolutely fine. I do most food preparation stuff on the island anyway.

Have lovely Sundays everyone!

I'm on snow watch! Its supposed to be starting at 12 o clock and with perfect timing, the ABS braking system on my car is broken. DS1 has swimming later too. I hate driving in snow.

Reine so lovely of you to offer about the Kew scarf but wouldn't suit my colouring - I just liked it on behalf of someone that suits apricot!

Fleecey I have yet to wear them but my raspberry skinnies from NL were a good buy. Red they have a couple of pairs of coral skinnies on there - one of which has zips like Agnes. Maybe a bit pale colour wise tho?
MiM glad you are ok, Dorry about the Denise Welsh overlad (what is it with her and her bra showing?)

Oushka has arrived - lovely soft leather, great size (would be fine for changing bag purposes), shoulder strap is long enough to wear as a cross body bag, love the shorter handles but not sure about the colour. Quite a dark reddy tan (prefer the tan of my Boden bag tbh) and there is not top closure - not even a magnetic clasp - will post a pic on profile this afternoon.

Emo76 · 03/02/2012 10:52

peplums will not work on me. I am not convinced they work too well on anybody. how to play the trend in a more subtle manner...?!

olly can I put my hand up for a to do book? You should charge commission!

mim thinking of you

on alexas I have one "normal" size in the petticoat white from last summer, purchased in the sales, and get a LOT of use out of it - in winter too - have it today. Love it. But I don't like the black and chestnut ones. Love that light pink BUT do not need/have funds!

am at work and my internet browsing and MNing keeps being interrupted by WORK...! On a brighter note, the yoga ball my colleague sits on just burst "you've been framed" style with a big bang. ha!

blue2711 · 03/02/2012 11:43

Morning everyone and brrr! Am waddling around like some kind of Eskimo oompa lumpa with loads of layers and not a lot of style. Midwife appt went well though and baby is apparently now on its side. Still spending lots of time on the ball!

mim still thinking of you. You sound so cheerful and uncomplaining! Hope today brings improvement for you.

Thanks apple for the link to the Rosie. Now I have to start dithering over purchasing all over again. I know in my head it's not a very wise purchase but I just want it!

Love the blue bonnett j brands mrscb - can't believe all those colours. J brand are starting to confuse and stress me out with all the different styles; I feel like I need to try them all! Like those zoe zip ones, particularly in white.

fleecy your photos wowed me. You look v young and beautiful and your kitchen is like that of a show home! I am very tidy and yet our kitchen surfaces are filled up with toaster / bread bin / biscuit jars etc etc. Need to do some de-cluttering! Beautiful children too.

hopefully you definitely made the right decision with the aldos; love the ones you kept.

Apprehensive about this weekend. DH out on boys' night out tonight which means no help at bath/bed time and also need to make sure I don't go into labour! Then my closest friend is visiting tomorrow and needs some serious support as she's just had terrible news about her mother's health. I am, however, getting my nails done this afternoon. Hmm, what colour? I'm also contemplating a quick waddle into whistles to shamelessly copy red's purchases.

Have a nice day, all!

AmberNectarine · 03/02/2012 12:08

Wow, fleecy aren't you a beautiful family? Your DCs are just scrummy, DD2 in particular, love babies in just a vest!

Regret to say DCs and I are all still in pjs. L-A-Z-Y! Will get dressed soon, as have promised DS a park trip, but no enthusiasm for it! Silly cold weather, don't they know it's S/S in our world?

fritzi I was only joking but you make a good point! He does just seem remarkably loving at the moment, and while there's no reason he shouldn't be I am a bit mystified!

OllieinOrange · 03/02/2012 13:07

Quite a bit of snow fallen here. Will walk to school to fetch DSs - am pondering being nice/not so nice mummy and taking/not taking the sledge for the walk back home. Heart says yes they will love it, head says no, you will have to pull them both, they love rolling out of it and it will take forever....What to do?

Gotta love the Dutchies - lots of people still out on their bikes in the snow!
Which reminds me - where is Everything? Hope all ok and you are just busy - in a nice way!

Emo76 · 03/02/2012 13:12

reversible jeans! double the wear but still ££!

amber your husband sounds like a sweetie. It's important to feel appreciated (and appreciate each other - not my strong point at present here)

olly sledge workout!

OllieinOrange · 03/02/2012 13:24

Emo you are right as always. Means I can indulge in a little pick and mix sweet action on my return (treat for DSs for having to walk/be pulled home). Of course will get you a to do book - will add to my to do list Smile

Icey and Looby pics of Oushka bag now on profile. Put one of it next to my Boden bag to compare the colour. Its the exact shade of the underside of Denby crockery (it was sitting on the table next to a Denby bowl and I thought oh). I need to ponder.

AmberNectarine · 03/02/2012 14:13

Ooh, yes forgot to say ollie, thank you so much would love a book - one of the to buy ones would be ideal! Thanks so much!

emo you are right, he is a sweetie and it is lovely to be appreciated. Suppose I just find it odd as I am quite a cold fish naturally whereas he is a cuddly sort, and even more so just lately!

Have finally got dressed and have got cashmere jumper on top of heat tech top on top of heat tech vest! fritzi and ollie hats off to you for coping in even chillier climes!

blue when is your DD due?

notyummy · 03/02/2012 14:18

Really hope you are feeling better MIM and have managed some classier magazines. Even Heat and Grazia would be a step up Grin. Have to admit not always getting on with Elle- sometimes just too many ads and faction I can't afford. Don't mind some expensive stuff (aspirational, as Jillian would say... ) but I need a mixture.

Had an amazing run in the freezing cold this morning, including up Ave Montaigne, where I judged the Dior and Loewe windows to be the best. I had read that French women don't do 'le jogging', but there were plenty out today and on Wednesday when I was running. Including one running in a stripey top and beret Grin. Was most disappointed in the lack of onions.

Bloss- did L1 6W6P in hotel room yesterday and would say it works the arms a bit. My shoulders are a bit sore this morning and I only used a light weight (hardback book!!)

blue2711 · 03/02/2012 14:24

February 7th, amber - next Tuesday! Can't be long now!

Russianred · 03/02/2012 14:40

Oh I love the idea of running in a stripy top and beret NY. How wonderful.

Definitely get out in that snow Ollie! I MIT add to your to do list and request a book too, but no rush - can easily get it from you at MU.

Blue I keep on getting excited whenever a post from you appears in case it's a labour/birth alert (because posting on here would be your priority, of course). How did you gt on in Whistles?

MiM I love a bit of Bella/Closer/Chat at times, but am sure Elle/Vogue are more of the comfort you crave right now! How's today gone?

I am blow-dried, made-up and ready for my interview - have played it safe with grey wrap dress (with heat tech top underneath) and black flat knee high boots with a black jet necklace. Am feeling inexplicably nervous - it's been a really long time since I had an interview for anything!

Hopefully · 03/02/2012 15:46

Ollie, Everything is intact and I think off on a jaunt with her DS today.

I have just purchased In Style on the advice of someone here, Bloss maybe? Am hoping for some good brand ideas as I have a couple of holes in my beauty/make up regime.

We are having one of those days where you just have to limp through - DS2 has finally realised that teething hurts (having got through the last three teeth without apparently noticing) and is a bit grumpy, DS1 is knackered and a bit grumpy, I am knackered and a bit grumpy too (for no good reason at all), so we are getting through the day with too much tv, a trip to Starbucks for a snack and half a box of chocolates on my part. Extra Shred tonight!

FritziGreenEyes · 03/02/2012 15:57

red Really excited for you! Your outfit interview sounds fab!

hopefully I think that is the perfect strategy to combat grumpiness.

ny I am considering taking up running and putting imaginary stylish running outfits à la Française together Grin.

ollie Not sure about the colour of the bag TBH. Maybe that is the reason they had it reduced in the first place. Love the pic of your boys in the snow on FB Smile.

OP posts:
notyummy · 03/02/2012 16:14

Good luck Red!

ReineDeSaba · 03/02/2012 16:15

red you've nailed the outfit, hope the rest goes well!

blue oooooh sooooo close now Smile

ollie what a fun mum you are

hopefully I am turning into Jack Nichollson in The Shining this week..DD2 does Not want to go out when it's cold and I get terrible cabin fever!

AmberNectarine · 03/02/2012 16:32

Oh wow, less than a week! How exciting for you! I remember being at your stage and eating pineapples etc desperately trying to avoid an induction. I was seriously moody, you seem so zen! Can't wait to read the announcement.

AmberNectarine · 03/02/2012 16:34

That was to blue, obvs!

MrsCampbellBlack · 03/02/2012 17:13

I know its boden but nice leather jacket hopefully

Whizzed into jigsaw today and they've got some lovely stuff coming in - gorgeous cornflower blues and pale pinks which I love.

MIM - hope you're ok!

Bonsoir · 03/02/2012 18:46

LOOK - H&M for Marni video

Marni
Marrakesh
Sofia Coppola
Imogen Poots
Bryan Ferry

Have already arranged not to do school run on March 8 so can run to shop on Champs-Elysées...

Russianred · 03/02/2012 19:03

Thanks ladies - it went really well, I think. Never can be sure, lots of nodding, note-taking and smiling, so shall see. Hours are still not ideal and I'd have to find childcare for DD for an afternoon/s a week which is unlikely, I think (although could explore a babysitter for 3 hours twice weekly). Being back in school was lovely though and it's a great one where I'd like to work...

Good spot Mrscb the jacket is lovely.

Imogen Poots is gorgeous, isn't she. Missed the collection as too busy staring at her face!

MrsCampbellBlack · 03/02/2012 20:36

Fingers crossed Red!

Picked up the april and may nail varnishes today - already wearing April - sooo pretty.

I can't see the marni video for some reason - but impressed with your dedication Bonsoir.

blue2711 · 03/02/2012 20:43

Well done red sounds like it went well and lovely that you enjoyed being back in school. Outfit sounds just right. I didn't make it to whistles in the end as had long lunch with DH (in new restaurant in Nottm, Browns, v nice) and then back home for hot pink nails! But your three tops are all currently sitting in my online basket!

Thanks for the link bonsoir - just stunning.

Alex Jones was just on TV wearing the Wendy Stella and Dot necklace I've been thinking about getting here

Hope you're all having lovely Friday evenings. I'm over the moon as one of my best friends just called to say she's pregnant with her first DC!

blue2711 · 03/02/2012 20:46

Hope you're ok mim (and have some better reading material! I have put the March edition of Red unread into my hospital bag just in case!)

Emo76 · 03/02/2012 20:47

fingers crossed for you red

blue you're in the home straight now, hope your evening was easy

mrscb I like that jacket

mim I recommend take a break magazine for a giggle especially at some of the real life stories and top tips!

all this talk of nail polish reminds me - I MUST STOP BITING MY NAILS. urgh. such a bad habit. any tips?

DH is out, put DDs to bed, think will have hot bath and go to bed. No drinking but a takeaway!!

Zembo · 03/02/2012 20:58

Lovely news Blue re: your friend and I'm very excited you're so near your due date. You must post as soon as there's some action Smile
Also I have that Stella & Dot necklace, it's very heavy and I really like it. I've been meaning to get it shortened just a tad, but haven't got round to it yet.

All sounding good Red and agree that Imogen Poots is stunning - don't know who she is, but she's beautiful. Also, you asked about bags and Roxy - I've been using my ancient Prada nylon backpack a lot recently - bought it about 12 years ago and still going strong. Very casual, which is me really.

MrsCB lovely Mulberry leather jacket you linked to recently. Are you hunting for a Roxy replacement? I like mine enough to keep for a while. I may consider selling next A/W if I see anything better. I often think of expensive buys as a kind of 'rental' so selling them on is relatively painless, taking cost per wear into account etc...

NY you sound like you're having a great time. My DD had a friend (and friend's brother) round for tea today. Their mum works full-time but I've got to know her pretty well as she's around for several pick ups during the week, do you see your DD's friends mums at the school gates on your day off?
