Sorry for poor thread title but I am hopeless at rhyming at the best of times...
Unbelievable how quickly we filled the last thread!

Had one hour on Friday before the meeting started and used my time very efficiently and bought these. They are not quite as high as the 50/50s but suit me better. Was hugging the shopping bag close to me on the train back home yesterday Grin.

ollie Such a shame that your DH isn't going to go with the job offer over here. Oh, the fun we could have!

hopefully Having you on this thread is great and I enjoy reading your posts a lot. I hope your mother doesn't find any more tidying tasks for you today. You look fab in your wedding pictures.

annie Hope you got all your work done last night and have the chance to get some rest today.

red We have our hob on our kitchen island too. We couldn't decide on backsplash for ages. Haven't had one for ages and it is absolutely fine. I do most food preparation stuff on the island anyway.

Have lovely Sundays everyone!

Bugger. Did you see on the other thread that there is now a smaller BBH. I bet that would suit my hair 100 times better than the bigger one thats sitting in its box upstairs! This always happens to me, i brought an old style Kindle and they literally released the new one a week later.

Have just started watching Birdsong and at the risk of sounding like a sad old woman, i must say the male lead actor is, well, rather beautiful.

I would like to point out that I would know more of the same bands as NYE if she wasn't so very old Grin (we are well under 5 years apart in age, but it's amazing how much difference that makes in terms of teen music tastes!)

Have been hunting down nice accessories, and have ordered a lovely wooden bangle from not on the high street. I am loving these chevron bangles too.

Does anyone have any Vince stuff? Have seen a couple of nice looking bits on Shopbop and NAP. Is it good quality? How true is the sizing?

Fleecy · 22/01/2012 22:57

Grin at NYE and hopefully trading insults!

I ordered a navy Vince tee in the NAP sale but sent it back. To be honest it felt like exactly the same material as some asos tops I bought last summer. The Vince one was £50 in the sale, £80 full price, and the asos ones were £15 I think. I couldn't tell a difference so couldn't see the point of paying so much more. But having said that, I think there was a Vince jumper that proved quite popular on here a while ago so knitwear might be different?

Russianred · 22/01/2012 22:58

Evening all. Thank you for the new thread Fritzi, your new boots are gorgeous!

Hopefully, Vince stuff is very nice. I have a jumper bought in the NAP sale, but which was still quite £££ and although I love it, I'm not convinced that the high prices are justified.

Thanks for splashback advice - will wait and see what the tiles look like when a sample arrives. MiM I'd really appreciate seeing some snaps of yours! Tongue and groove sounds nice Pickled, hadn't considered that. Hope you're not too exhausted at the end of such a long working week.

Icey would love to see your finished kitchen! Yes to induction - glad the feedback has been good from you! I'm near giddy with excitement about having a kitchen again.

Lovely haul there Fleecy.

Hope you have a lovely time tomorrow MU ladies.

Ollie am looking forward to Birdsong on catch up - one of my favourite books. Do show us your colour range!

Pregnancy envy Amber?! I've not had an ounce of broadness since having DD, although post-DS it was all I could think about.

Great price on those jeans Carciofi.

DD has been really ill over the weekend, not napping and up a lot in thhe evening. I haven't been able to do my last bit of work and have missed the deadline. This hasn't happened since primary school and am mortified. Hoping it doesn't threaten my chances of more stuff in the future, but imagine it will Blush.

Russianred · 22/01/2012 22:59

Oops, broadness in buckets, just no broodiness!

AmberNectarine · 22/01/2012 23:11

Oh I don't want another baby (yet) red, I just quite like being pregnant and eating lots of cake!

hopefully I have a few Vince t shirts and I love them, they wash and wear really well and hang nicely. Only buy in sales though as the ones I like are £95! Er, no.

blue2711 · 22/01/2012 23:53

Hope you get to bed soon annie! And hope your DD is soon better red. Try not to feel too bad about missing the deadline, people sometimes surprise you by being really understanding about these things.

bloss our DD is due on Feb 7th so not long at all now. Will be waddling to the MU tomorrow. No name decision yet fleecy although doubt it will be your favourite as it reminds DH of an ex!

Also bloss I always enjoy reading about your bike rides, your enthusiasm is palpable! It's great when you find something new about which you're passionate. Completely relate to the shadow that marking can cast; it's one of the few aspects of teaching I really don't miss.

ollie I also related to the feeling that one's own children are the most boisterous there. DS and I went to a play date this morning when DH was at work and I felt like I was constantly apologising for him as he climbed / ran / left a trail of destruction behind him. I am proud of his energy, confidence and constant cheerfulness but wish he would just sometimes sit still.

amber can't believe you didn't indulge todsy, what restraint! Think that is what i will do re. LV scarf; my roses one was second hand and is perfect. Yes I have seen the pastel leopards and love them, am hankering after pale blue ones (Times style mag featured them last week and deemed them 'trashy but great').

hopefully your posts always make me smile, particularly about your slave driver mother. I am conversely at my most lazy when my mum is around. Really excited about her coming to stay for a whole week when the baby is born; even though she lives just 10 mins away it will be lovely to have her here, especially as DH is planning on having no paternity leave at all [not impressed face].

Am frustratingly wide awake after napping since 9pm as DH insisted on watching the man-cutting-his-arm-off film and it really did not appeal. Might start searching eBay for LV scarves and anglomania now.

blue2711 · 22/01/2012 23:57

Love both dress and trousers annie.

MidnightinMoscow · 23/01/2012 05:33

Hello.

Pregnancy insomnia here, along with a raging sore throat. Thank goodness DS is in nursery today so I can catch up on sleep later.

Thanks for the new thread fritzi, and really like those boots. I am struggling with my OTK's, my calfs are really swollen with varicose veins at the moment. (Hideous sounding I know)

Red I'll post a picture later today when its light. Sorry to hear about DD being ill. If you speak to work ASAP and commit to a new deadline, then hopefully they'll understand?

Bike ride sounds so lovely Bloss, what a nice thing to be doing with the family as well. Glad you found that marking in the morning makes life easier. Its funny how little changes make such a difference to not only the practical side of things, but mentally too. Just before I went off sick, I was compiling a weekly to-do list at work, rather than a daily. I found it somehow made me feel less pressured and I still worked out what had to be done that day.

Blue and Ollie, I totally relate to having the most 'lively' DC. DS just doesn't stop, ever. I am constantly apologising for him in some shape or form. We had to rearrange his bedroom furniture last night as he has taken to climbing on his chest of drawers to get to his bears. Grin (Ignoring the fact he goes to bed with various stuffed animals obviously).

Not long now for you Blue, I am the 16th of March Bloss, but pretty certain I'll be early again.

Sounds like you has a good day out despite the journey NYE. I love, love Vietnamese food so much, it was the main reason why we went there for our honeymoon! I miss that side of London life, the option to eat so many different things on your doorstep.

Emo I am very impressed with your Hoxton night out and fitting in. Anyone remember my night from hell in Brick lane with my totally Mumsy outfit? DH and I still laugh about that now, as he was wearing his 'best' shirt that my Mum ran the iron over for him. Oh the shame...Blush we looked like fishes out of water, dispelling any ideas I had that I was a bit 'edgy'. Grin

I agree annie that there has been some serious underestimation on that thread too. Love the dress, but not sure about the trousers I am afraid.

Also agree it's lovely to have Hopefully on the thread too. Its a shame that I won't be meeting you at the MU.

Have just ordered The White Company top - STYL3 is still working for 20% and free PP for anyone interested. Am enjoying the odd purchase to look forward to wearing.

Right - off to make another cup of tea, DS will be up any minute now.

Hopefully · 23/01/2012 06:55

Thanks for the Vince feedback. I'll keep an eye out for any sale bargains. Want a couple of basic t-shirts for wearing with skinnies and/or hypothetical maxi skirt (have decided i need one for SS, for no particular reason) and am struggling find any that aren't black/white/grey marl.

Amber I live the cake eating aspect of pregnancy. Hence the need to still lose about half a stone 9 months after giving birth Blush

Annie lovely dress and v scary trousers. Can see them working in the right outfit though. Probably not one of those 'throw on and forget' items of clothing though Grin

Red I hope not managing to do your work isn't too badly received. Sounds like it's a real exception, so hopefully they'll be understanding.

4.5 hours sleep. Yawn. Mostly because DS2 is just bloody noisy so I couldn't get to sleep till 1am. I hate sharing a room with him. We need a bigger house so we can have guests over without having to move in with a DS for their visit.

Hopefully · 23/01/2012 06:56

Oh, and MIM and Blue hope you're both well rested after being up late/early Smile

OllieinOrange · 23/01/2012 08:18

Hopefully I love having visitors but love having my house back too! Maybe if you got DS to share with your Mum her visits would be a bit shorter? Smile. Im still chortling about the teatowel sorting! At least she's offered to do it with, mine would sit there and just point out they needed sorting!
NYE Glad you had a nice time with your friends.
Blue sounds like we have identical sons. Mine are so lovely and confident but just so busy and loud.
MiM hope you can have a lovely long nap later.

Im more than happy to bring the new and in box BBH along to the Meet Up if anyone wants it for themselves or friends/family? I loved it when Fritzi styled my hair at a MU but think the smaller barrel would be better on my shorter, fine hair.

Im trying to negotiate an annual bonus with DH - seriously. He got his this month and it just got me thinking that a little something in my account would be nice too. He muttered something about meeting weekly performance indicators etc etc. I'm still negotiating!

Just off to tidy the kitchen so I can take a pic for advice on wall colour.

AmberNectarine · 23/01/2012 08:44

Definitely re. bonus ollie! When DH got his I got my share (admittedly only 1% but then we are saving for a new house!)

notyummy · 23/01/2012 08:49

Morning all!

Annie - I like both the dress and trousers, although I couldn't pull the trousers off. Def for an apple (or a spide!) rather than a pear I think. Probably not what I need on my bottom.

Blue - I actually really fancy that 127 Hours film - it got great reviews. I have sky plussed it so will watch at some point. In this house it will be DH watching through his fingers at points I think Grin. Watched 'You Don't Know Jack' last night that I sky plussed a few days ago. Great perfromance from Al Pacino. I used to have a major Al Pacino 'thing.' Pity he is so short.

NYE - sounds like a lovely day and I am glad all the travelling was worth it.

Hopefully - your mother would despair of me - I have hardly any tea towels to sort!

Bloss - Well done on the biking! We had intended to go out for a ride too, but it was just too windy over in the East. Your early morning marking was very efficient. DH and I had double shredded by 9am on Sunday and both felt quite smug about that (albeit exhausted.) You are definitely a more effective weekend early riser in general than me though. DD knows not to disturb us before 745 at a weekend, and is happy to play in her room, and even then DH usually gets up and plays with her for half an hour whilst I read my book! [idle mother emoticon]

DDs head is all the colours of the rainbow with a most impressive bruise however she is absolutely fine and it has caused her no issues. Phew! She loved looking at it in the pictures I took.

AmberNectarine · 23/01/2012 08:57

Have finally charged up my kindle after about a month out of service! Any book recommendations for me?

Emo76 · 23/01/2012 09:40

yay fleecy and pickles re Space

hope the meetup goes well today

Emo76 · 23/01/2012 09:42

annie I love the dress, less keen on the trousers.

MidnightinMoscow · 23/01/2012 09:59

Oh yes, meant to add that hope the MU goes well today.

Emo, I remember Space too - "Shock, shock, horror, horror, shock, shock, horror". Grin

The stories about hospital radio are making me laugh. Would it be awful to admit that in my very, very younger days we used to call up the request hotline and request stuff like "Fire starter" by The Prodigy for "Ivy and Ethel" on Ward 9?

Cruel, but very funny!

blossoming · 23/01/2012 10:08

I do like a 30 minute lie down after lunch though to offset my early morning efficiency! Means I can stay up with DH then.
I am reading Jillian Michaels Unlimited on my Kindle. Just read the bit about learning more through failure than success. Currently sitting in reception of the school I didn't get the job in last year thinking how much I learnt from that experience and how I've got a much better job now.
Also reading something like '52 ways to change your life'. The first 4 things are: drink water, have enough sleep, keep active and keep a food journal. Trying to read one chapter a week of that one!

IceCreamCastles · 23/01/2012 10:16

That is very funny MIm!

I used to do student radio too. My co presenter was a disney fan (oh dear) so our show was often punctuated with Disney songs.

My most cringeworthy moment was blagging my way into the dj booth in a club because 'I knew what I was doing' and being far too drunk to operate any of the equipment properly and making a right hash of it.

NY- that is quite some bruise! What a brave girl.

Annie- you are a braver woman than me with those trousers Grin

Thanks for that link NYE- it's the separating I struggle with. Should have naturally big hair for MU today anyway as it is blowing a gale here!
