Sorry for poor thread title but I am hopeless at rhyming at the best of times...
Unbelievable how quickly we filled the last thread!

Had one hour on Friday before the meeting started and used my time very efficiently and bought these. They are not quite as high as the 50/50s but suit me better. Was hugging the shopping bag close to me on the train back home yesterday Grin.

ollie Such a shame that your DH isn't going to go with the job offer over here. Oh, the fun we could have!

hopefully Having you on this thread is great and I enjoy reading your posts a lot. I hope your mother doesn't find any more tidying tasks for you today. You look fab in your wedding pictures.

annie Hope you got all your work done last night and have the chance to get some rest today.

red We have our hob on our kitchen island too. We couldn't decide on backsplash for ages. Haven't had one for ages and it is absolutely fine. I do most food preparation stuff on the island anyway.

Have lovely Sundays everyone!

I think we've been at it for such a long time that only those with an interest in fashion could possibly be riveted enough to keep reading. Might be the occasional tutting. But two years is a long time. Grin.

Reine Grin love it.

Thanks MrsCB. Nice scarf, good that the monitor is coming off. Must be a relief.

Peplums, nooo. Too Carol, haha yes I agree.

IceCreamCastles · 02/02/2012 13:25

Oh no MiM- how horrible. Hope you get better soon.

Gosh it's very cold here today- I swear if dd had walked much slower on the way back from toddlers we would have frozen in our tracks!

Thanks ollie- was going to message this morning to say that there's no rush for dress but too late-oops! I would also definitely be in the market for the list book- but as blue says, not if it's too much trouble.

Emo-hope your day improves- take care

FritziGreenEyes · 02/02/2012 13:34

Oops, forgot that the electricians were coming round today for the umpteenth time since we moved here. Today there are three of them, running up and down the stairs, operating light switches, opening windows, shouting...

Think I'll leave them to it and do some food shopping before picking up DD and her friend from school.

I had a short sleeved blouse with a peplum (double layered!) when I was about 15 or 16. Wore it with a black pencil skirt and would never tire of checking how relatively tiny my waist looked.

OP posts:
Hopefully · 02/02/2012 13:39

Blue I am dubious about peplums too. My sister is big into them, but since she dresses full time asking her whether they're in this year is probably not useful Grin

Mulberry link not working on stupid phone, will have to look when on computer later!

Have decided to return one pair of Aldo boots. They are just too similar. Now I need to stick to that resolution long enough to get them back to the shop next week. Have decided that I will allow myself a browse in gap etc for a shirt if I return them.

Hopefully · 02/02/2012 13:40

Full time vintage. Obviously she is dressed most of the time.

As opposed to the rest of us nudists hopefully Grin I'm not convinced by peplums but am not much of an early adopter so no doubt will change my tune sometime soon when I've seen more about.

Cold here too today. I have not yet left the house though, lazy Fleecy!

MIM I hope you are not too stressed. You've had such a rough time of late! Sending lots of good health vibes your way.

Right I have bought my Asos blazers so no more shopping for me this month. Have persuaded DH that a high chair is necessary this month. Our kitchen is white gloss with grey walls and lime and silver wallpaper (pics on profile - not for everyone but I love it) so I am ordering this one to go at the breakfast bar with the stools. I hope it's the right sort of green!

Am also going to buy some bandana bibs from eBay and slip a 'to do' notebook in there with them. Why not eh?

Does anyone have the Trunki boostapak? We're thinking about getting them for the older two for holidays this year but reviews are mixed.

AmberNectarine · 02/02/2012 14:28

Reine, you're right of course, no spend Feb is over! Bought some Brora wristwarmers and some Benefit face cream. Both necessities in the cold weather though! Having quick Starbucks pitstop to feed DD then on to Whistles!

The are opening a Trilogy in Wimbledon Village. Yay!

notyummy · 02/02/2012 15:47

Fleecy- we have the boosta pak. Overall I think it is good, as i bitterly resent the amount car hire firms charge for booster seats. It doesn't hold an awful lot of stuff, but most kids won't carry heavy ones anyway. Biggest drawback is that the straps are quite wide apart on the back which means they can slide off little shoulders. Manageable though.

Bloss- The plank stuff in 6W6P works arms so that is good. Because you only use one weight for it, I think to work the arms it really needs to be a 3kg. Your idea about adding L3 shred strength bit is good. Alternatively you could try adding something like 30 bicep curls, 30 lat raises and 30 tricep raises. If you use 2 or 3kg weights for the first 2 exercises that would be challenging. You would just need a chair for the tricep dips. Just google if you are not sure what they look like.

Russianred · 02/02/2012 16:34

Fleecy I love your wallpaper. We have a big expanse of white that needs dealing with, could be an option.

Blue the very ones of which Carciofi speaks - they are all lovely actually and have re-stocked the basics that I overlook in favour of silk tops I don't wear. Carciofi that is a huge saving on an Alexa, brilliant.

Ollie i like the sound of those to do books too! Coral quest fruitless as I basically look like an actual pig in them. But my favourites were Topshop Jamies in baby pubs, which is actually more of a light coral. They're lovely. River Island have a more orangey pair called Milly in Miami or similar which were also nice.

Amber how much damage did you do at Whistles?! I could have bought the place out.

Big no to peplums from me, definitely too Carol (you may have a coined something there Blue, quite a few Carol-ish garms out there). Someone else has already said it, but I think it's really important to let DC build their own relationship from the off - I can be too 'involved' at times and they often work things out and come up with a better way of forging their bonds - they're better when I'm not around Blush.

Bought the April Chanel polish - does one do nails for an interview or should I not so as to look more 'serious'?! A colleague of DH's went for an interview for the same post/s yesterday and seems to think there is more flexibility to the times available. Shall see.

How are things MiM?

OllieinOrange · 02/02/2012 16:47

Icey and Blue its no trouble - will buy and send the To Do books in the next few days. Blue - PM me with your address?
Icey - I needed to go to the PO anyway - had various parcels to send.

Reine - will bring one to the MU if you can await that long or send with others?

Anyone else? Bloss - did you want one?

Fritzi ouch with your hot water bottle related burn.

ny that really is a great photo of you on your FB page.
MiM mother hen alert but if you are up to it, please keep popping back to let us know how you are doing?

AmberNectarine · 02/02/2012 17:04

red am sad to say Whistles Wimbledon remains intact. Tried on your breton, but it just wasn't working on me with my inflated bf chest. Even a 12 was tight in that region and I refuse to buy a 14 which won't fit through shoulders. Also tried on a nice coral knit which was ruined by the addition of 2 front pockets adding bulk to the midsection. Why? One thing I may get was a navy polka dot sweatshirt which was lovely but they didn't have my size. Was also looking for the lime green chunky knit and pineapple scarf but they were sold out! Will go to St Christophers place next week.

Went to Matches and tried on Marant jacket. Very nice but not sure of shoulders on me. They had it in black and white though which I liked!

Sorry for me me me post, will catch up!

Russianred · 02/02/2012 17:07

Nearly bought that too Amber (polka dot) but wasn't convinced boy the shoulders in it or the hang. Very lovely though.

MarshaBrady · 02/02/2012 17:10

DHL man swung by on way home. Bravo dhl guy. But the M by MJ is going back. It is very soft and warm (and I could be swayed by warmth right now) but it is bottle green with shearling cuffs so possibly has a touch of the elf about it. Also the small is too baggy and it curls at the edges which bugs me.

Phew! can get hair done, get some children's stuff and generally save for SS instead.

MarshaBrady · 02/02/2012 17:18

Fleecy your children are sooo cute, and swoon at your little new baby. Love the kitchen too. I know you've already ordered, but Tripp Trapp do a nice lime green one too.

ReineDeSaba · 02/02/2012 17:19

Portia4 · 02/02/2012 17:59

Fab kitchen Fleecy and really tidy Smile

Mim you have been in the wars with this pregnancy, I do hope that you get better soon. Thanks

Carciofi that's a great saving with the bag, can you avail of it flying within the EU?

NY Hope that you're having a ball, great photo on Facebook.

One of the things that this thread has got me to do is look at my wardrobe through different eyes, a lot of the pieces mentioned I have got but haven't worn , today I'm wearing an old Hermes scarf with an old Ralph Lauren blazer a la Wendy and it feels great! I've also been wearing pencil skirts and silk blouses a la Annie, not buying more has definitely got me wearing barely worn clothes that when mixed and matched feel great Smile

blossoming · 02/02/2012 18:22

That's great portia. You have an amazing wardrobe I'm sure. Great you're finding new inspiration.
Hope you're feeling better mim. What a hard time of it you've had. Do you have a kindle? Could you get one for your stay? I recommend lucydillon for private reading.
Thanks for your feedback notyummy. Will have an envious peak at your fb photos.
Thank you annie, but I'm not taking anything for granted. I think a long term realationship has to constantly evolve and has to be worked at.
Hope things aren't too bad your end emo.
I'm going to come back later, because I know I've missed loads. There is chaos all around me, but I had to take 5!

blossoming · 02/02/2012 18:44
