Sorry for poor thread title but I am hopeless at rhyming at the best of times...
Unbelievable how quickly we filled the last thread!

Had one hour on Friday before the meeting started and used my time very efficiently and bought these. They are not quite as high as the 50/50s but suit me better. Was hugging the shopping bag close to me on the train back home yesterday Grin.

ollie Such a shame that your DH isn't going to go with the job offer over here. Oh, the fun we could have!

hopefully Having you on this thread is great and I enjoy reading your posts a lot. I hope your mother doesn't find any more tidying tasks for you today. You look fab in your wedding pictures.

annie Hope you got all your work done last night and have the chance to get some rest today.

red We have our hob on our kitchen island too. We couldn't decide on backsplash for ages. Haven't had one for ages and it is absolutely fine. I do most food preparation stuff on the island anyway.

Have lovely Sundays everyone!

ollie you really made me laugh with your 'looking busy' comment..inevitably when my DH is around there are not nearly as many dramas so I'm sure he thinks I am exaggerating.please can I order a notebook too!

hopefully I love your style.. I can't function without lists though they say it reduces your memory function..

annie I think our DD2s are very alike!

hands amber star for not purchasing in feb yet, while wondering idylly if she has given in yet Grin

I am always impressed that you ladies correct your posts.. blue your 'and me baby' post Grin cor blimey!

yuumy sounds like a great trip, your DD sounds ace,you really have no need to worry there, but wouldn't hurt to put your mind at ease by chat with teacher.
have you seen this yet for hardcore fitness nuts it says!

OllieinOrange · 02/02/2012 11:09

Loving all the love for my To Do book! (Its one of those little things that makes me happy)

If you really want one, I'll happily take orders! Postage is quite high over here so if you prefer and can wait that long, I can easily bring some over to the MU?

Just popped out to PO etc (Icey dress is on its way!) and checked they had them in the shop. They have new ones now which are white with a blue border on the cover and on each double page there is a page which says To Do and the all important tick boxes (!) and the opposite side is split in half with To Call and To Buy (its like it was made for us?) Wink
They also had some of the plain white ones from the link which just have one page saying To Do and the other page says Notes
They are not that big - 12cm wide, 22 high.

So just let me know if you'd like me to get one for you - its no trouble. May have to change my name to OllieToDo!

carciofi · 02/02/2012 11:11

Mim, you poor woman, get well soon.

Bloss, well done on starting the bag fund! I have £300 towards the Alexa, not bad. I am going to call Mulberry in Heathrow to see if they have it in stock so I can get a bit extra off.

I read on another website that the DvF blouse is polyester although they say it is silk. They haven't replied to my call or email from three days ago so I don't think I am going to order it. I am also now reluctant to raid my Alexa fund. :)

carciofi · 02/02/2012 11:13

Ollie, I used to spend much of my time as a student creating study plans, colour coding them etc and the final tick was so satisfying!!

MrsCampbellBlack · 02/02/2012 11:19

Which colour Alexa are you going to get Carciofi? I saw the 'marshmallow' colour stuff in HN and it was oh so beautiful - would quite fancy a clutch in that colour.

What I need to do is to find a summer bag and then start ebaying - I need a goal to get me through the tedium of ebaying.

Think Roxy will be going on ebay though as just don't love it enough and it realistically does nothing for me sadly. And that will be my last expensive mistake I hope.

OllieinOrange · 02/02/2012 11:19

I like this Kew scarf here

Can you tell DH is no longer here?

MrsCampbellBlack · 02/02/2012 11:45

leather jacket for hopefully

love this top

blue2711 · 02/02/2012 12:01

Oh mim so sorry to hear that you're unwell. You poor thing. Thinking of you and sending best wishes.

Lovely to hear about all the sibling love. As an only child, it feels quite alien to me but DH and his sister are extremely close and he feels strongly that having a sibling is a real joy. I do hope DS will love having a little sister; it's my biggest wish at the moment, apart from obviously hoping that she arrives safe and sound.

mrscb I have Wendy's leopards already! Kind DH got them (reduced) for me before Christmas - cant wait to wear them. The potential shopbop purchase is the black James skinnies that you linked to a while back. I absolutely love your AH bag; missed that one in the MW sale! I feel I need a new cross body bag which is smaller than the Alexa (which I usually carry in my hand anyway) but still roomy enough to be useful. I know we all denounced the nylon nature of the mulberry leopard print Rosie satchel but I do rather regret not getting it. I really thought it would come down further in price but now it's disappeared from the mulberry site and I can't find it anywhere else. Perhaps worth trying Bicester? By the way, saw Liz Hurley looking great on gossip girl set and thought of you!

red your whistles haul sounds fantastic! May copy. Off to look at new in on their site now.

marsha I'm pleased you made that decision re. the job. I could tell your heart wasn't in it and your feeling of relief now says it all.

ny Paris, how wonderful! Glad you are having a fantastic time.

ollie thanks for that list. Have subscribed and just really enjoyed the ex slave letter, it's fantastic. Also, I'm afraid I too would like to order one of the To Do books - the one with the 'to buy' section sounds just perfect. I can't make the MU though, so if it's too much hassle i quite understand. I too love list making and notebooks. Often think about indulging in a smythson one for my handbag. Did people see the interesting article on list making and why we love it and how to use it best in The Times last week? Worth a read, I'll try and find a link, although their pay wall makes it hard.

blue2711 · 02/02/2012 12:03

I meant link ollie. Am clearly obsessed with lists!

ReineDeSaba · 02/02/2012 12:10

wow at mrscb's links..gorgeous..any e baying tips, please, apart from the obvious one of thinking hard pre purchases!

ollie do you think your DH left because he was tired of pretending to be busy too Wink would love if you could bring notebook to meetup but fear you will need a suitcase when everyone requests one!do you want me to try to pick up that lovely scarf for you and send if kew don't deliver?

annie hope you are having a lovely day with DD2.

carciofi how annoying of CS.the leather jacket you linked to the other day is beautiful.

DD2 up since 5.30(DH woke her as he left the house for a run!brrr!) so I am having a 'lazy day' (though have still ironed, washed car, prepped supper and played 'parties')

MarshaBrady · 02/02/2012 12:13

Thanks I am feeling very relieved. And free!

Annie it is true that it was a huge risk to say he will settle ok. They would have given me a month or more to do it, but I couldn't be certain. And at that point my name would have been committed to documents, clients etc. Would have been awful to leave after a month.

Missed the DHL man bah.

blue2711 · 02/02/2012 12:15

red could I be annoying and ask you for the names of your whistles Breton and grey marl top? Am struggling on the poor website as usual. Thank you!

VerityBrulee · 02/02/2012 12:17

Oh mim how awful for you, you are having such a tough time lately. Wish I wad closer and could help out in some way ((( hugs)))

ollie i am a bit of a stationary-aholic, I only realised how many notebooks I have when we had to pack up Blush Some of them are far too lovely to write in!

mrscb after saying yesterday that I'm not a leather jacket person, I think that Mulberry might turm me

marsha good on you for doing what's right for you and MrMarsha for being supportive

Sorry for dodgy typing, at pool waiting for ds2's swimming lesson. He has been in tears for the last 2 weeks about not wanting to go swimming at school, so want to see what's going on.

ny your dd is a fantasic girl, try not to worry Smile In our school the Parents Assoc class rep collects and dustributes phone numbers. If your school doesn't do this maybe you could suggest they start as it's invaluable for lots of reasons. Hope you are having a fabulous time!

FritziGreenEyes · 02/02/2012 12:20

mim That is awful, you poor thing.... Hope you get the best care there is and can rest as long as you need. Will you have to stay in hospital for longer? The thought of ollie styling your oxygen mask with some ribbon really made me smile.

ny Just saw your pic on FB sipping champagne on the Eiffel Tower Smile. Hope you can manage not to worry about DD too much while you are away.

marsha Definitely the right decision about the job offer. Could almost hear the sigh of relief in your post. Smile

emo Can you do anything to improve your day at least a little bit? Lunch with favourite colleague? Lunchtime treat like nail polish?

annie Enjoy your day with your DDs!

hopefully The love quotes scarves look great. Have you decided on a colour yet?

Have managed to burn the top of my legs this morning when I clamped a hot water bottle to my stomach to ease period pains while sitting at my desk. I'm working from home I hasten to add Grin. It doesn't hurt but have red violent streaks now. Good thing it is -10 degrees here today and I am wrapped up in layers of clothing.

OP posts:
ReineDeSaba · 02/02/2012 12:20

sorry you can't make the meetup looby ..I can't make the following weekend I'm afraid as have already postphoned DH's birthday to make the 17th!hope you do get a lovely trip away though.

blue another mum had a 2nd baby 3months before I had DD2 and so could still remember the big adjustment clearly..she was invaluable in making me feel 'normal' ..I felt guilt, panic that I had 'ruined DD's life!' because I couldn't be the parent I used to be,it was just not physically possible, and everyone else I knew who had a 2nd child had instant love for new baby from the older sibling and I didn't..but quite quickly you can't imagine a time without DC2..it will be gorgeous(as long as you remember siblings Will wind eachother up at some point! Grin )

MrsCampbellBlack · 02/02/2012 12:23

It is lovely isn't it VB! Thought the colour would be good for Hopefully although would be ahem pretty much a year's clothing budget.

Dauphin & Red - we should perhaps meet up at Kilver Court after half-term - for you know research purposes.

Oh there's a lovely new 811 coming out in Blue Bonnet - most gorgeous colour.

Also I bought a lovely scarf for spring - good for any summers out there

Will be glad to get this heart monitor off tonight - the sticky pads are really irritating my skin.

Now new vogue has arrived but will be good and take middle dc to the park whilst youngest at playgroup.

Marsha - definitely wise on job front.

ReineDeSaba · 02/02/2012 12:26

poor fritzi though I did wonder at the layout of your office for a minute!

emo you are a hardworking lady, sorry things are tough right now.

keep wanting to ask..is anyone on the thread actually going to wear a peplum this summer??

was thinking about the whole spending on clothes thing yesterday and realised it's definitely my achilles heel..I was picturing receiving bad news and decided the days of a cigarette or a stiff drink are long gone,I'd have to buy a little something Blush

ReineDeSaba · 02/02/2012 12:28

good call marsha DeNiro

beautiful scarf mrscb

ReineDeSaba · 02/02/2012 12:29

blue just thought, don't want my post to worry you,I just meant to say it's normal to worry how it will all come together but it does!

blue2711 · 02/02/2012 12:37

Thanks reine, your post actually made me feel better and think that things will work out in the end, even if difficult at first. It's funny how I can't imagine life with a DC2 at the minute even though it's so close, but soon it will be the opposite (I hope!)

On a more serious subject... Peplums? Hmm, not on dresses, think they look a bit Carol Vorderman and also, weirdly I feel like they are a bit 2010 even though we keep being told they're SS12. But maybe on a pretty cotton top with skinnies and sandals?

blue2711 · 02/02/2012 12:39

I would definitely rather buy myself something than have a drink or a cigarette! I always tell myself shopping is my only vice - probably not true but it makes me feel better! mrscb made me laugh when she mentioned the lurkers' disapproval; it sometimes crosses my mind that there's an army out there reading about our purchases and pursing their lips in horror...

carciofi · 02/02/2012 13:11

There is much disapproval, I'm sure! One of my friend's DH's said something to me about my expensive tastes, none of his business and it's not like he's paying. I don't like him anyway (I keep that to myself, of course).

Blue, my DD1 took to DD2 straight away (DH took a little longer!), she is very gentle and patient with her. I don't have sisters so found the idea of two girls strange. I found this book useful.

Mulberry have some fab leather jackets. I was looking at one called the bayswater. I'm going to get the tan colour, MrsCB (nice scarf, btw). I just called Mulberry in Heathrow and they will hold one for me if I phone a couple of days before I travel. It's £130 cheaper in duty free.

Red, really like those Whistles tops and going to buy the same ones next time I get to Westfield. I have a Westfield voucher and it's all going on Whistles. :)

apple99 · 02/02/2012 13:12

An occasional lurker here, just wanted to point Blue in this direction for the Rosie here.

carciofi · 02/02/2012 13:13

Fritzi, ouch!

Reine, yes, me too though I do like a glass of wine or two.

carciofi · 02/02/2012 13:19
