Sorry for poor thread title but I am hopeless at rhyming at the best of times...
Unbelievable how quickly we filled the last thread!

Had one hour on Friday before the meeting started and used my time very efficiently and bought these. They are not quite as high as the 50/50s but suit me better. Was hugging the shopping bag close to me on the train back home yesterday Grin.

ollie Such a shame that your DH isn't going to go with the job offer over here. Oh, the fun we could have!

hopefully Having you on this thread is great and I enjoy reading your posts a lot. I hope your mother doesn't find any more tidying tasks for you today. You look fab in your wedding pictures.

annie Hope you got all your work done last night and have the chance to get some rest today.

red We have our hob on our kitchen island too. We couldn't decide on backsplash for ages. Haven't had one for ages and it is absolutely fine. I do most food preparation stuff on the island anyway.

Have lovely Sundays everyone!

Amber I was wearing CdeC coated skinnies, acid yellow top, these boots, Roxy and lots of neck bling!

NY wore the bargain green, geometric dress she linked to the other day - showed off her figure very well and perfectly matching dangly earrings.

Icey had a very pretty cream top on, 'just a tiffany' bangle, Alex Monroe bee necklace, wedge boots, pretty floral scarf which co-ordinated well with bright fuschia bag. Didn't get a proper look at the trousers!

Blue - black jumper dress with opaques and chestnust coloured tall boots, pretty scarf and Mulberry alexa. Oh and perfectly manicured red nails.

Hope I've got most of that right - sorry if I've missed anything.

Zembo · 23/01/2012 19:40

Amber I saw the red on online before it sold out too - a bit too bright I thought (even for me). HN are slow to deliver, but looking forward to receiving them.

Russianred · 23/01/2012 19:40

So glad you had a lovely time ladies - you all sound gaw juss!

Emo76 · 23/01/2012 19:48

olly I love that dress on you. Oh, and I want your kitchen Grin

MarshaBrady · 23/01/2012 20:04

Zembo love the outfits, they all sound really fabulous.

Ollie love the dress on you.

Verity lovely watch. And you do deserve it big time!

Everyone in bed and I am idly filling baskets with things. Was an annoying day today.

MidnightinMoscow · 23/01/2012 20:27

Sounds like you all had a wonderful time at the MU. Everyone's outfit's sound very glam.

Well done VB, the watch is very well deserved.

I'm full of cold, so curled up on the sofa in PJ's and hot lemon. Hate having a cold.

ApuskiMcClusky · 23/01/2012 20:55

Evening!

I'm on spot-watch - ds1 has got a light rash all over, more marked on his face, coming after a couple of days of off and on raised temperature. May well be chicken pox. Im now feeling guilty for taking him to pre-school this morning, even though he was fine - it was a stay-and-play morning where the mums stick around for an hour, and his best mate's mum was with us, and she's pregnant. So I'll have to call her in the morning if it develops. Hope to god she's had it.

Any tips? I'm a bit scarred from it when I had it as a child, so keen to do what I can to minimise that.

Moving on! Meet up sounds lovely, and everyone sounds very glam!

Verity, well done you on all the hard work with the loss assessment, glad you're getting through it. And a lovely watch, well worth all your hard work!

ApuskiMcClusky · 23/01/2012 20:57

And Wine to Marsha at the end of your annoying day. Hope tomorrow is better.

Grin at the 'just a tiffany bangle' I didn't mean it like that! Just meant that the engraving on it was nothing personal.

V good outfit breakdown Zembo - I loved everything about yours. My trousers were boring DP black maternity skinnies - you didn't miss much!

Blue is tiny, looked fab and has made me want an Alexa again. Will get saving!

Yes - earhearts looked pretty funny held up against NY's lengthy legs (shown off fantastically by bargain dress btw)

Hope it's not the pox apuski. We've avoided it here so far but have heard people recommend piriton as well as plenty of calpol & camomile lotion.

Hope the cold passes quickly MiM.

Love all the kitchen photos - ours is nearly done so will try to get a photo on soon. We are still dithering over paint and tile colours though.

OllieinOrange · 23/01/2012 21:47

Lovely to have so much honest feedback, thank you. Im still undecided (I know I know) but haven't tried it on again yet. Will do so tomorrow when I have lots of time to see what works. I do have quite short legs so it depends if I can rouch it up a bit more so that it looks ok and of course stays up! DH liked the pic I showed him. I know I'm not known for spending a lot on any one thing but it does seem vey exxy for a jersey dress - which I think is also affecting my ability to love it if that makes any sense at all?

Thanks for the paint feedback too. The whole house has cream/beige walls so the kitchen needs a pop of colour and blue works with the rest of the downstairs. Have lived the duck egg blue for 5 years but time for change. Think we will go with Lulworth Blue and if it doesn't work, think again once the new floor is down.

MiM absolutely love the tiles you have in your kitchen. Great choice.

Verity am so pleased you chose to spend the money on something for you and on something as lovely as the watch. Didn't know it came with a navy strap - makes me want one even more.

Did you see these coral jeans linked to on another thread? Great colour. here

blossoming · 23/01/2012 21:54

MU sounds lovely and very stylish. notyummy you must have felt very tall amongst the petite girls. Love groomed nails. Managed to keep mine lovely and polished throughout the Christmas holidays, but they're trashed again now.

Good luck with the job red. It sounds a very good stepping stone. And I'm glad things were okay with the deadline in the end.

Sorry you're feeling poorly mim. My cold sort of disappeared after feeling quite rough in work on Friday.

Love the kitchen ollie, but as the queen of magnolia, I am at a loss with any other colour!

Hi to everyone else!

Russianred · 23/01/2012 22:04

I didn't really understand your post in the context of online shopping Marsha (duh) and had a vision of you wandering the house with wicker baskets, collecting things. Made me giggle.

Ollie you are right to question it, is an exxy purchase. With my two big recent purchases, I was doubtful for the first few wears and now I've got over spending guilt, I know I love them. Will you wear it a lot or will it languish in your cupboard? Does thinking about it make you happy?

Hope you're feeling better soon MiM, colds are yuck.

Fingers crossed pox doesn't transpire Apuski.

Good stepping stone indeed Bloss and seriously flexible hours. Am trying not to think about it too much as I can sense I might want it rather a lot.

Detailed outfit breakdown from MU sounds even lovelier, can't wait for the March one!

MarshaBrady · 23/01/2012 22:07

Thanks Apuski Smile.

Dh has been really great and checked the outnet basket, told me his favourites so I did an order.. Jcrew olive skinnies, acne pale pink cargos, grey fine knit top, tangerine t.

(Will link tomorrow.)

Looks like I nearly have the thread title ^ covered, for the colours.

Good ol dh! Smile

MarshaBrady · 23/01/2012 22:08

Haha good spots Red. Yes a little less active basket filling Grin

MarshaBrady · 23/01/2012 22:08

Spots? X-posts.

MarshaBrady · 23/01/2012 22:11

Ollie I think your dh will help when he sees it on you. One thing about photos is they change the angle and make feet smaller etc.

Fleecy · 23/01/2012 22:26

ollie if it was £50 would you keep it?

By which I mean do you love it but feel guilty about the cost (in which case, keep) or do you feel like you ought to love it because it was expensive but you're not sure that you do? I'm not sure you like it enough from the sounds of things but hard to tell online.

LOL at wandering around the house filling baskets.

Glad everyone enjoyed the meet up and looked suitably stylish. Why can't some of you move to Norwich so we can have lunch meet ups and evening cocktails? Grin

apuski did you Dukan last year? If so you'll probably have some of that horrid dry oatbran left over because you got bored of making silly little pancakes or sprinkling it on yogurt. Pop it into a sock, tie the top with a hair tie and hold it under the tap while running a bath. Failing that, porridge works Smile We did oat baths for DD when she had chicken pox, followed by calamine, and gave her piriton.

bloss are you really queen of magnolia? I always assumed you'd have colour in your home as you like quite strong colours for clothing.

MarshaBrady · 23/01/2012 22:31

Making me chuckle too now.

Idly filling baskets does sound one step away from madness Grin

Hopefully · 23/01/2012 22:44

Red I had exactly the same thought about Marsha's basket filling, was only when you posted that I realised that wicker was not involved Grin

Ollie I like Fleecy's test - if it was cheaper and there was no guilt, would you love it and wear it? Or would you choose something else?

Zembo thanks for the outfit round up, everyone sounds terribly stylish. The bar is being set high for big MU!

Had a go at BFBM (aka Be Fat Be Miserable) today, OMG it felt every minute of 45 mins instead of 20. It's not even insanely high intensity, but I'm so used to my little 20 minute session that 45 minutes nearly killed me! Had to sit on the sofa and have a proper 3 minute rest at one stage Blush. Think I will try to do it once or twice a week to break up the Shred monotony. Will also do yoga dvd once a week when it finally arrives. I am so bored of dieting and weight loss, but am determined to just get it over with so I can enjoy being a sensible size and not have to keep buying clothes in random sizes. I can actually eat a lot and maintain a sensible weight once I'm there, so I know I won't suffer too much once I hit my target weight! Am also looking forward to fitting into all my new stuff without an attractive muffin top, as my Agnes and 811s have been cunningly bought just a tiny fraction on the small side to motivate me Grin.

My Dicker boots have been dispatched, hope they arrive nice and early tomorrow! Am so excited, hope they're not crap. Will be comparing them to the cheap New Look version before committing.

Have to hunt down lint roller tomorrow after slight tissue in the laundry situation with riviera blue J Brands.

notyummy · 24/01/2012 08:54

Morning all.

Apuski - fingers crossed that it isn't the Pox....and if it is that your friend has had it. DD had it when she was about 2.4 or so and had a fairly mild dose. She was fine - it was the time off nursery (and work) that was the problem! Actually, I hope she has got proper immunity from a mild bout. She only had about 20/25 spots and they never seemed to irritate her that much.

Hopefully - well done on doing BFBM. I quite like it, although I think it is a bit erratic with how difficult it is - I find some circuits really easy and a couple really tough. I sometimes get sore calves the next day, so there must some exercises in there that really work the calves in a way that all my other stuff doesn't!

That sounds like a good haul Marsha.

Bloss - we are magnolia city here as well (apart from DD's bedroom that she requested pink as a birthday present...) It is mainly because we know will not be in this house for that long and are likely to either sell or rent it in the next few years so have consciously taken the decision to keep it neutral for that market. Our other house in Harrogate is also mainly neutral (apart from bathroom) and that let really quickly so fingers crossed this would do the same. One day we will buy our long term 'proper' house and we may actually start using colour Grin.

Miserable day here! Supposed be going out running after work (in the dark ) so I hope it has stopped by then. Wearing cerise and black fitted P8 dress with opaques and heels.

MidnightinMoscow · 24/01/2012 09:01

Morning.

I though Marsha was filling a wicker basket too. Blush

I second Fleecy's tip for oats in the bath, Apuski. We use this if DS has had an allergic reaction and is itchy. Hope she is better soon.

Thanks for the sympathy, thank goodness DS is in nursery again today.

I am on the hunt for some olive green skinny trousers for spring/summer. I like the Topshop ones but Hopefully, you say they are quiet thick material?

Also, I really like these as I have wanted a 'good' pair of grey jeans for ages.

MarshaBrady · 24/01/2012 09:12

gngn Well looks like they are going to offer me the job. (recommending me to board). GNGNGN am SO conflicted.

Of course if it was what I had been doing all this time it would be different.

But I am just getting nearly back to the other thing (the value is high now. They need to be very good). Trouble is I need to throw money at cc for time to do this other thing. And that is an expense I don't want.

Agh. The way the email was worded it made me feel bad for going for an interview if I'm not sure.

I'm going to link the stuff I bought to get my mind off it. On to pretty colourful stuff.

I could do Annie, good idea. We also talked about 4 days a week rather than 5 in the interview.

I feel a bit ill about it all, I always go a bit doolally in holidays as I can't get anything done.
