Sorry for poor thread title but I am hopeless at rhyming at the best of times...
Unbelievable how quickly we filled the last thread!

Had one hour on Friday before the meeting started and used my time very efficiently and bought these. They are not quite as high as the 50/50s but suit me better. Was hugging the shopping bag close to me on the train back home yesterday Grin.

ollie Such a shame that your DH isn't going to go with the job offer over here. Oh, the fun we could have!

hopefully Having you on this thread is great and I enjoy reading your posts a lot. I hope your mother doesn't find any more tidying tasks for you today. You look fab in your wedding pictures.

annie Hope you got all your work done last night and have the chance to get some rest today.

red We have our hob on our kitchen island too. We couldn't decide on backsplash for ages. Haven't had one for ages and it is absolutely fine. I do most food preparation stuff on the island anyway.

Have lovely Sundays everyone!

6am here, a comparative lie in!.

Happy birthday NY!

Zembo · 29/01/2012 07:12

Morning ladies.

Happy birthday NY! Hope you have a very special day.

MIM sorry to hear about the 5am wake up, I've been there many many times too unfortunately. Good luck with the lentils. Is DS's 'allowed' list slowly expanding? I LOVE Chanel nail polishes, the colours are often amazing.

DH is here this weekend, it's been lovely having him around, off out for lunch later. Wishing you all good Sundays.

AmberNectarine · 29/01/2012 07:17

6.30am here, though DD was unsettled from 3am! I swear these kids are trying to break me!

MiM love that nail varnish, also really like June. I noticed she featured Inattendu on that blog, which is the one I wore on my wedding day.

ny have a very happy birthday! Hope you enjoy your session with Jillian, and the rest of the day too.

MrsCampbellBlack · 29/01/2012 07:38

Good morning and a very happy birthday to NY! Thought of you actually as just got a new cookery book yesterday - the Clean and Lean one - looks pretty good so far.

Was in brizzle yesterday as being waxed and threaded and bought some very nice very pale grey skinnies in Zara - not online but were £35.99 and nice thick denim and very flattering - had them in other pastel colours too. Also tried on these which were super flattering and very comfy. May buy them in a couple of weeks if I can see a better price.

I worke the KG sweep boots yesterday and twice in HN assistants complimented me on my Pistol boots - then had lengthy conversations about how they were actually the KG ones.

MidnightinMoscow · 29/01/2012 07:50

Sympathies to all the the early risers.

Zembo, some things for DS are better, he can tolerate tomatoes which has been a massive improvement and makes life easier for me. However, he recently was confirmed to have allergies to sesame and pine nuts too. All the other ones like egg, dairy, beef etc remain the same. However, I noticed at a children's party yesterday just how good he is getting at not grabbing food, checking with me first etc, which is great to see.

Hope you have a lovely day with DH.

I can't believe I missed those boots MrsCB, they are gorgeous. What did you wear them with? Like the 901's, I get confused between them and 910's which are my favourite J-Brand.

Meant to say well done to carciofi on finding your all time favourite jeans at such a good price.

Feeling organised. Have got bread in the bread-maker, a cake in the oven and that casserole in the oven. I love Sundays when they start like this.

Hopefully · 29/01/2012 08:08

5:30am. Yawn. And he's so bloody happy! How can a baby survive on so little sleep?

Happy birthday NY!

MIM managing allergies must be so hard, but great that your DS is learning how to look out for himself.

My sister let me try her Chanel lipstick yesterday, the colour was crap on me but it was much less dry than the HoC ones I have. Now to try to match the colour!

MrsCB don't go turning me back to the sweep boots!

Right, waffles for breakfast.

Portia4 · 29/01/2012 08:10

Morning everyone, lots of people up early this morning !

Happy birthday NY Smile

Carciofi great find with those jeans, I've never seen that website before.

I wore my ASOS Aggies all day yesterday and they are really comfortable, wouldn't pass the Roxy test but at this time of the year they are perfect.

Ollie It is worth getting your blinds done properly, as if they don't hang properly when you close them they will really annoy you, do you intend closing them every evening or are they just 'window dressing'?

MIM Lunch sounds delish, best of luck with Ds's allergies, I think that we will have Morroccan chicken.

All the Dcs are still in bed here, that does happen eventually ladies, where you end up dragging them out of bed, but I do enjoy this quite time to myself. DD2 who is home from France for the weekend had some friends over last night so a late night was had by all!

Yesterday morning I was feeling unwell at about 6.30am when I thought I heard a car outside and saw some lights, I reckoned the lights weren't our security lights as they were too low and when the car noise stopped I thought it must be on the road( we live in the countryside). 40 minutes later there was a rap on the front door and a poor guy on his way home from the night shift had hit very bad ice flipped his car which had landed in our paddock! He is fine but there was great excitement as you can imagine, I could not believe how far his car travelled in the air!

Have good Sundays all and drive carefully!

MarshaBrady · 29/01/2012 08:26

Happy birthday NY

Portia crikey!

Can't believe how many early posts. Everyone still asleep here...

Hopefully have you decided which boot?

IceCreamCastles · 29/01/2012 08:59

Morning everyone.

Happy birthday NY- hope you have a wonderful day.

Sorry for all the early risers- 8.30 here this morning after she fell asleep in the car on way home last night at about 6pm! She must have been tired!

Wow portia- glad he was ok.

Like those sweep boots a lot mrs cb.

You sound set for a good day MiM. Hope the casserole goes well. Great that ds is starting to take a bit of responsibility for allergies.

We are having oxtail stew for lunch- I've never made it before but dh is going through a bit of an 'unusual meats' phase and came home from the butchers with it yesterday.

Have lovely Sundays everyone

MarshaBrady · 29/01/2012 09:13

Still asleep! Amazing. Ds2 has a cold, poor little sausage.

Carciofi I meant to say, glad you found your fave jeans, they look good.

I have jbrand legging jeans. But paid much less for them.

They are really good with riding type boots, like APC ones. Light and comfy.

pickledsiblings · 29/01/2012 09:16

Happy Birthday NY, hope you have a wonderful day Smile.

Have great Sundays the rest of you.

OllieinOrange · 29/01/2012 09:31

Happy Birthday notyummy! How was Ripped in 30?! Hope you got some other nice treats.
Carciofi that was a great summer coat. Friend has a yellow mac and I always think how good she looks in it.
MrsCB a different friend brought Clean and Lean about a year ago and it made a big difference - she lost weight and has kept it off, looks slim and toned with great skin. Lovely boots - not seen them before.

We've looked at all blind options (except make your own - I would make such a bodge job of doing that!). Each window is over 2.5 metres high and 2 of the 5 are for the lounge (for window dressing) so need to be right. Neighbour used the shop we went to yesterday and they did a really good job so worth the money I hope. DH was funny looking at all the cream linen samples tho - he insisted they were all the same and really couldn't see how they differed in texture, transparency, colour etc.

We have ended up with 14 bananas sitting in the fruit bowl - off to make some muffins using the tried and tested MN banana bread recipe.

blue2711 · 29/01/2012 09:36

Happy birthday ny! Sounds like you are having a lovely weekend. Hope you have a special day. Bet you're excited about your mysterious trip away this week.

In contrast to all the productive starts DH and I have both had a lovely lie in as DS stayed at my mum's. We went out last night for DH's birthday: group of 6 of us, great night. Wore tight leopard dress but felt bit paranoid that people were staring at the magnitude of the bump as I made my way across the restaurant!

notyummy · 29/01/2012 10:12

Thank you so much for the good wishes everyone!

I have only opened cards yet- no presents- so still none the wiser about trip away. DH said there is no gym (was trying to work out whether to go for a run yesterday and he said I would have to go running next week as there would. E no other option.) Rules out spa option- although I didn't think DH would put up with 3 nights in towelling robes, even for me Grin.

Had lovely meal cooked for me last night and we are off out to lunch today. Wearing the skinnies that Annie kindly sent me with a Breton and biker boots. Did l 3 of Ripped, plus first half of l4. Was hard- but good.

Blue- your bump is not big!!

Fleecy · 29/01/2012 10:49

Happy Birthday ny - have a wonderful time and enjoy your break.

Love those nail colours - I might have to get June I think as don't have anything like it.

Has anyone else found their Jalouse are getting a bit tatty? I wore mine nearly every day in the autumn and still wear them several times a week now and what with walking to collect DD from school they're getting grubby. Have spent so much in Dec/Jan that I can't afford to replace them yet though!

In February I am planning to get this coral-ish blazer and this cream blazer with a 20% off code they sent me. I have loads of jeans, vests, scarves etc which is great in summer but it's too cold for them now so i thought these would get me more wear out of the things I already have and would also be bf friendly. That will be me done for the month I think. Early!

ApuskiMcClusky · 29/01/2012 11:01

Happy Birthday NY!

blue2711 · 29/01/2012 11:33

Have just had a catch up read; some lovely links. I'm particularly loving mrscb's marant jacket - it's amazing. I absolutely love little spring /summer jackets and have far too many of them already but at least I can say I get lots of wear out of them. Love the way you can dress outfits up or down with them and also wear SS clothes even when it's cooler, as you say fleecy. My favourites are my cream tuxedo ish one, a very slim fitting dull navy one and a cropped navy and white striped jersey one. Have nothing like the marant one though and am now daydreaming about it! Really like the marant jersey dress that someone linked to as well.

Loved the jewel mulberry scarf too amber and can heartily recommend mulberry scarves. I have a beautiful one that I've worn endlessly and it's worn so much better than my YSL ones that cost a lot more.

Thanks for that style book link apuski - just what I need. I tend to just accumulate endless open windows on the iPad at the moment! Although, having totted up January's spend (despite the many, many returns) I need to be more strict about my wishlist for the next few months.

Your great boot hunt is really tickling me hopefully - but I do sympathise! I make more mistakes with footwear than with anything else. Have far too many pairs languishing unloved because they're either a fraction too high / low / round toed etc etc! For what it's worth I like the aldo ones better if you're thinking of dresses, they have a more flattering low cut on the ankle.

Off out for Sunday lunch, then swimming, then my niece's birthday tea (she's five). It's freezing here and I really can't think of a suitable outfit to take me through the day. Niece will be dressed as a Disney princess. Hmm, perhaps navy spotted jersey dress, opaques, aggies and then some judicious layering over the top? So sick of maternity wardrobe now; come on baby!

Gosh Portia, lucky he wasn't more badly injured

Fleecy I wouldn't be surprised at the Jalouses getting tatty with regular use - combination of suede and a relaxed fit I think inevitably means shorter lifespan boots. I have resigned myself to short-lived footwear as I love suede.

Blue footwear is my nemesis - the odd time I end up compromising and buying footwear that isn't the right shape or perfect fit, I never wear it, so I tend to wear my very few pairs of shoes to death and struggle enormously to replace them.

Loving all the blazer talk, hope I can find a nice one this season. Need to catalogue what I've bought and which bits I need to finalise my capsule wardrobe (for now).

ReineDeSaba · 29/01/2012 13:12

Happy Birthday yummy ...why would you worry about being 40 when you look so fabulous Smile have a great day and lovely Sundays to all

MIL just phoned to say she is on a tram heading this way and are we in? I've said it before but that woman can smell banana bread from 100 miles away!

loobylu3 · 29/01/2012 14:14

Happy Birthday NY :)

blossoming · 29/01/2012 14:19

Hi everyone. Special big Happy Birthday to notyummy!
I had no problem with 40, till I went back to work. I find it hard to be teaching at 41 as I still think I'm in my early 30s which I was when I left before. Have to remind myself constantly. Don't know where the years have gone.
nye, I don't thing the skull scarves are for me tbh. I looked at scarves till I was seeing double last night, and looked at all dimensions, and I think they are just too small for me. Also I find the other McQ ones, the razor blades ones quite distasteful as they remind me of reading about suicide attempts (in a 'slashed his/her wrists with razor blades way).
What I want to replicate is the monochrome White Co one I had last year, but not in linen. I like the dvf one I linked to yesterday, and I also like this one as it is black blue and purple and zebra stripes rather than the leopard that don't suit me. The hunt is on.
I am going to Spain this Easter. Just waiting for reservations to get back to me re cot for dd. Think I should really, as it is a) 20 years since I went on my year abroad, and b) I have A level candidates sitting exams in May and I need to brush up my skills! Looking forward to wearing ballet flats again, the roxy, and a loose-ish top with an appropriate scarf! And maybe shorts and a summer dress if I'm lucky.

MarshaBrady · 29/01/2012 14:23

I love that scarf Bloss really great colours.

I also love this Marant jacket. Could be a contender!

I feel an Matches order coming on.
