Sorry for poor thread title but I am hopeless at rhyming at the best of times...
Unbelievable how quickly we filled the last thread!

Had one hour on Friday before the meeting started and used my time very efficiently and bought these. They are not quite as high as the 50/50s but suit me better. Was hugging the shopping bag close to me on the train back home yesterday Grin.

ollie Such a shame that your DH isn't going to go with the job offer over here. Oh, the fun we could have!

hopefully Having you on this thread is great and I enjoy reading your posts a lot. I hope your mother doesn't find any more tidying tasks for you today. You look fab in your wedding pictures.

annie Hope you got all your work done last night and have the chance to get some rest today.

red We have our hob on our kitchen island too. We couldn't decide on backsplash for ages. Haven't had one for ages and it is absolutely fine. I do most food preparation stuff on the island anyway.

Have lovely Sundays everyone!

MiM I love your new nail varnish and think I may need to buy it.

Have had my DSis here overnight and have friends on their way for Sunday lunch. Hope everyone is having lovely weekends.

Back later.

ReineDeSaba · 29/01/2012 15:33

Gorgeous jacket marsha ... I loved your link mrscb but wrong colours for me and florals just don't seem to do anything for me.

nye I'm intrigued by your swap event..was it a casual thing amongst friends or an organised event?how do you work it?

I am having a nice quiet afternoon working while my sister keeps me company today. Lots of fun chatting about our various careers (or lack thereof), clothes and sewing. She recently moved away having lived 300m away for three years, so it's nice to have a proper catch up while DH is out with the boys. We have also made a bit of a career/five year type plan for me, which is nice - I think I needed someone to bounce ideas off.

Reine can I see your pics please? Smile

Bloss that scarf looks great, perfect for your colours/clothing personality, even though I don't have any idea what you look like.

blossoming · 29/01/2012 18:14

Gorgeous photos reine. Did you make the cake?

That scarf on paper is perfect for me. Oversized, with a large bold print in my best colours. But when I visualize myself strutting down the street on my mini break, I don't see it.
Back to the drawing board!

blossoming · 29/01/2012 18:15

Do you all realise that a scarf (up to £200) is the only thing on my SS wishlist? Is there something wrong with me?

MrsCampbellBlack · 29/01/2012 18:21

Give you time Bloss, give you time Wink

blossoming · 29/01/2012 18:26

What do you need mrscb?

MrsCampbellBlack · 29/01/2012 18:59

Well the Etoile Marant jacket Wink

Love these sandals but am sure will be many very similar for a lot less £££ coming into the shops.

Quite fancy a cream jacket too.

And some good white skinnies - so an upgrade from tosho.

Couple of tops and a couple of dresses for everyday.

Have nice stuff from last year so realistically don't need much. Also trying to buy one good thing rather than lots of not so good things.

FritziGreenEyes · 29/01/2012 19:03

ollie Your MIL has got a banana bread radar Smile.

portia Shock It's almost a miracle no one was hurt.

hopefully Jillian advises always to have a light snack 45-60 minutes before you exercise. I'm getting confused with all your boots options but hope you'll find the perfect pair Smile

nye Swap shop sounds fun!

bloss Well done on biking! Did you wear your new gear? You'll find the perfect mini break scarf Smile.

mim Have put April and May Chanel nailpolish on my SS wishlist.

zembo Hope you had a lovely time with DH!

Marant jackets are very different but both lovely!

reine Your DD is gorgeous and wow, what a cake.

Last summer was grim wasn't it? I think I just wore 2 tops with jeans/agnes and ballet flats for months, with the Boden chiffon trim cardigan. And white co scarf, and trench.
Oh, the 'storm' version of the chiffon trim cardigan is on my list. Yeah, found something!
Were those sandals on WIT? They look lovely as styled on the model. I think Matches has upped their game on the styling front recently.
Tops is what I need. The bane of my life. Everything seems to be baggy and loose at the top, then clingy round my middle. Give me structure!!

MarshaBrady · 29/01/2012 19:10

Totally agree re Matches. Was thinking same today, plus videos and more stock. Much better.

blossoming · 29/01/2012 19:10

x post fritzi. Great catch up! I did wear my new gear. And a face full of make up Wink.
What's on your S/S list?
Forgot to say earlier to portia, thanks for the advice re slippery roads. They are promising bad weather here, and DH wants to travel tomorrow, as do I, as does MiL who is coming here to look after dcs as it's inset. So nice to have your dd home I'm sure.

MrsCampbellBlack · 29/01/2012 19:15

Also agree re. matches - think its better than NAP to be honest. All that Karl stuff got on my nerves really.

AmberNectarine · 29/01/2012 20:15

mrsCB the flat version of those sandals is on my list. Am thinking orange but they also come in nude which would be far more sensible.

Also want that Marant dress, the Mulberry scarf, some wedge-heeled trainers (probably not Marants, sadly), tan Pistols (or possible cheapo Toppers copy), grey skinnies, couple of casual tops, YSL arty ring and a lot of new underwear. Ouch, expensive list. Must channel bloss!

Hopefully · 29/01/2012 20:21

Watching Galaxy Quest, v enjoyable! Thanks for the recommendation NY

Fritzi I've confused myself with my boots quest, I'm not surprised no one else is keeping up!

Love the Chanel June. Suspect it's a bit pastel for me, but will have to go try it out. I have a gorgouse couple of Jessica corals that I suspect I will return to this year.

My SS wish list is:

  • a decent pair of lightweight trousers - possibly linen, but tailored rather than just baggy
  • possibly a cream blazer? If I can find the perfect one. Might try making one. MrsCB has inspired me
  • a day dress, which I'll def make. Am making a couple of toiles in the coming weeks.
  • sandals - am planning on ordering a couple of the New Look cheapies linked earlier.
  • nice short sleeved t-shirts in either off-white or camel
  • party dress! Have a couple of big parties this year, starting with a wedding in April and finishing with joint 30th party with DH.
Hopefully · 29/01/2012 20:23

Amber I really want an arty ring too! Can't justify it in any way. Am loving the lovely brown statement ring that NYE donated to me though, it's giving me the taste for statement jewellery.

notyummy · 29/01/2012 20:29

Just a quickie - will be back properly later. I have mentioned our friends in Switzerland before, and the husband is a writer and animator who writes a blog - and he has written this about me today. Aww! Please read and bookmark if you like his blog. His book (Insecure) is also worth a read. Will stop now!

Glad you are enjoying Galaxy Quest Hopefully.

Fleecy · 29/01/2012 20:54

Nice work ny - fame at last Smile

amber did you see the thread on wedge trainers. They are growing on me but I know they are a bit wrong. I have found these and these as Marant alternatives.

I would also like some bright sandals but as I have the pink C/Es and just bought the pink VWA I think perhaps orange would be better for me to avoid pink overload. Surely New Look will do some soon?

OllieinOrange · 29/01/2012 21:05

I need to sit and have a proper think about SS lists but know from last year that i need:

  • a shortish cardi so i can wear my white jersey dress more. Not sure of colour tho.
  • tan sandals (worried that my lovely NL ones from last year wont last another sumer)
  • replacement white & navy breton top.
  • remember a mum from school last year wearing some white linen shorts and a white linen jumper, she looked really good but not sure pale ole me could pull off the same look, but maybe with a pale grey linen jumper?

Speaking of breton tops, i declared spring today and wore my white and navy one with a bright green cardi, - a left over from my pre-colour analysis days so not in my colour palette but cheered me up!

MidnightinMoscow · 29/01/2012 21:06

Well, DS refused to eat any lunch so lentil testing never happened. Suspect he will be full of cold tomorrow. Still, the meal was lovely anyhow!

I love all the SS wishlists. Bloss I know what you mean about tops, getting the right ones is the bain of my wardrobe too, especially in regards to finding something that is forgiving to my stomach area.

Like the blazer links, I bought that TS white blazer last year, if you remember I was asking if I looked like an extra from Miami Vice!

One thing I am on the look out for, before the baby comes is a beautiful scarf. Something spring like, that is oversized and soft. Basically something lovely to get me through my post natal wardrobe.

Agree re Matches too, far better than their mannequin models that they used to use.
