Sorry for poor thread title but I am hopeless at rhyming at the best of times...
Unbelievable how quickly we filled the last thread!

Had one hour on Friday before the meeting started and used my time very efficiently and bought these. They are not quite as high as the 50/50s but suit me better. Was hugging the shopping bag close to me on the train back home yesterday Grin.

ollie Such a shame that your DH isn't going to go with the job offer over here. Oh, the fun we could have!

hopefully Having you on this thread is great and I enjoy reading your posts a lot. I hope your mother doesn't find any more tidying tasks for you today. You look fab in your wedding pictures.

annie Hope you got all your work done last night and have the chance to get some rest today.

red We have our hob on our kitchen island too. We couldn't decide on backsplash for ages. Haven't had one for ages and it is absolutely fine. I do most food preparation stuff on the island anyway.

Have lovely Sundays everyone!

Fritzi, I like the BR dress also.

rufus101 · 26/01/2012 19:29

Always good when the parents are paying! (Aren't we sad at our age?)

Fritzi I posted your scarf yesterday as promised. Hope you really love it. Blue I did wear with Roxy Smile

Reine love the DVF scarf too.

Carciofi queen of scarves, how do you store them all?

MrsCB thanks for the link, did you order a pair? I don't think I could squeeze myself into a size 24, been scoffing a bit too much chocolate lately. I'm completely tee total but make the calories up in daily chocolate. I must try to abstain for a couple of consecutive days a week. Don't think I could manage a 'dry' Jan though, so very impressed at you Emo

NYE I read it as Kate M too Smile Hope you're feeling brighter.

Red beautiful kitchen, love all the light.

MIM I never thought I'd be a size 8 again after my DC, however, it seems I'm now a size 6 in most things (vanity sizing) - my shape has changed a little bit (boobs) but not that noticeable really.

Looby DH got his first consultant post aged 41 so also about 16 years post med school. My sister has applied to do anaesthetics (she's young and super keen Smile) - hopefully it won't be quite so long and arduous for her.

Ebay experts is it too early to start listing S/S clothes?

carciofi · 26/01/2012 20:08

Rufus, I know. We are never off the pay roll. Wink

Great shirt, NYE.

Zembo, the summer scarves are packed away in the loft, I hang up the pashmina type scarves and the smaller silk scarves are in a box on a shelf. I would list your summer clothes now.

Emo76 · 26/01/2012 20:08

hello i thought KM was Kylie Minogue until I read back properly !

can recommend R&B flats here, I have some red quilted ones (Marsha I think you may have same?) - not cheap but have lasted brilliantly. Also I am a big fan of the block stretchy elasticated ones but only in sales.

stopped by the shops on way home from work - Benetton have some LOVELY spring things coming in including some gorgeous pastel flat shoes, clutches and bright clothes generally. Will revisit when sale is finally over and they are fully stocked up. Also went to cos - I SO want to buy something there but everything makes me look bigger or like an artist (smocks). I know other ladies on here have success there. Saw this Joseph tiger wooly in Harvey Nicks for a relatively good price and loved it - so thick - but really cannot justify and know that in no way it is wise and fashionable, perhaps that's why I liked it!

carciofi · 26/01/2012 20:14

My R&B flats still look like new.

Emo, I think that's the longest link ever! I got some lovely clothes for the baby in Benetton recently but forgot to look for myself (I must have been coming down with something).

MrsCampbellBlack · 26/01/2012 20:36

Loving all the variations of KM

Zembo - a 25 fitted me well and you are smaller than me.

Emo - I love that jumper. Would equate to money not spent on booze in jan.

I have given up diet coke and all caffeine apart from one coffee a day - skin looking better but gosh, am so tired but as being tested for some genetic heart stuff am determined to stick to it.

blossoming · 26/01/2012 20:37

I've been looking at those dvf dresses rufus, carciofi, but know that the high, round neckline is a complete no no for me. I would really like to buy another dvf, but I just don't like any of her stuff for me right now.
Have you seen the Raoul blouse nye? Would you say it was more suited to a classic gamine? You will look fabulous with that hat too carciofi. Did you buy the blouse then?
Sometimes I think, let's do a clothes share..!
hopefully, there are bows on the R&Bs. I have the mid heels too, and I struggle slightly with them. Keep thinking they look ridiculous on my feet. I think they're classic gamine too. But very comfortable. The flats don't bother me so much, probably because the pewter colour gives them a dramatic edge!
Hope you're feeling better nye. Fresh air and exercise is my only suggestion. And if not that, maybe a visit to the GP. Especially if it isn't like you.
Hope you love the scarf when it arrives fritzi. The colours looked lovely.
Any idea when you're moving zembo? My friend is having a baby soon there, so I will be doing my first visit! She tells me there's great shopping!
I have been marking and writing reports. Shred will have to wait till tomorrow. Good for you getting back on the horse ollie!

MrsCampbellBlack · 26/01/2012 20:38

And my fave non-alcoholic drink is a lime squeezed into a glass with ice and a can of club soda - sort of VLS without you know the vodka.

What other non-alcoholic drinks do you all do on non-alcohol days? I mean in the evening?

ReineDeSaba · 26/01/2012 20:38

a link for the lovely VWA dress red found me

ants glad you had a lovely trip away.

mrscb can you not be persuaded to join the meet up..you seem like such good fun..a minxy one!I just knew you would pronounce ollie's dress too long!

carciofi great hat for a great price.

blossoming · 26/01/2012 20:39

Hope it's nothing serious mrscb.
So who is KM then?

MrsCampbellBlack · 26/01/2012 20:41

Reine - that's so funny - I just can't get on with mid-calf - am slightly more obvious in my choices Wink

Not sure about meet up as think DH is cycling in France then in preparation of doing his scarey big ride in the summer.

Love that dress too.

ReineDeSaba · 26/01/2012 20:44

Sorry yet another of my slow typing cross posts..hope your tests come back clear mrscb re-non alchoholic drinks I like cranberry juice/fizzy water and elderflower cordial/fizzy water or you could combine with club soda instead of water?

MrsCampbellBlack · 26/01/2012 20:46

Oh yes - good ideas as like both of those. I pretend I'm Liz H when doing my lime and soda and that its a VLS her fave drink [saddo]

I've had an ecg which was fine but now have to have echo, exercise test and 24 hour trace - such fun! But looks like mine will be ok but as its genetic will need screening every few years. My sister was very lucky to have it picked up in an ecg for something else - very lucky.

carciofi · 26/01/2012 20:53

VLS is my favourite going out drink! I usually have sparkling water and a dash of ginger or elderflower cordial. Belvoir do nice ones.

Cool dress, Reine!

I haven't bought it yet, Bloss, DH is giving me cash in Feb (as it always fits!) for my birthday so going to buy the Raoul top and a couple of other things then. I'd definitely like access to your wardrobe. My mother used to get really cross when I was a teenager if my friends and I swapped clothes. She bought me lovely clothes (for the time!) and she hated seeing them on my friends.

Some poor woman just bid £240 on a dress I am selling instead of £24, she was able to cancel the bid. Quite funny.

carciofi · 26/01/2012 20:54

MrsCB, hope the remaining tests come back clear

OllieinOrange · 26/01/2012 21:03

I first read KM as Karen Millen....

Hopefully - what a great blog.

Zembo i was thinking about Carciofi's scarf storage too. I like the idea of having a box. Most of mine are currently draped over the wardrobe door which annoys me when i look at them and then I promptly forget to put them away.

Where is Pickled? Hope you are not drowning under a pile of marking?

Does anyone have any thoughts on block heels on court shoes. Seen some grey ones: block style heel on a platformed court. Can't decide if they are stylish or firmly on the side of granny shoes? (Attracted to them cos they seem a bit easier to walk in that narrow heels - am firmly embracing being middle aged then!)

Portia4 · 26/01/2012 21:13

Another VLS fan Carciofi! My mum used to also get frustrated when we swapped clothes with pals and wore 'tat' vs the nice clothes she would have bought us, we had no uniform in SPS then, and Benetton and Inwear were very popular! DD1 has become quite careful with her clothes and DD2 certainly has changed her style since she went to France. When DD1 was in France the other girls used to think nothing of helping themselves to her wardrobe as she had a lot of Abercrombie etc which was new to France then, and that used to drive me nuts as it all came back either with colour run or having shrank in the wash!

The King Sitric brings back memories, my parents used to go there every Friday night when it was the only restaurant in Howth!

NYE hope that you are not feeling so blue now Brew

Fritzi Love that bag, it would be great for summer.

DD2 is coming home for the weekend tomorrow, it will be so nice to see her, this term has dragged by.

Zembo · 26/01/2012 21:15

Reine you will look stunning in that dress, great price too.

Bloss we're hoping to relocate in the summer so that DD can start school in a new academic year in Glasgow. So much to do though (and I'm the one who'll have to be doing it all) that it doesn't feel real yet. Im currently trying to tart up two houses ready to put up for sale in the next 6 weeks or so; one belongs to me and one to DH, finally time for a proper merger Grin

Carciofi thanks for eBay advice. I'm on a massive declutter mission and also have to retrospectively fund the Marc Jacobs scarf, so will get listing.

Hopefully I've decided to tot up all my purchases for this year too as I really haven't got a clue how much I spend. I suspect it's rather a lot.

OllieinOrange · 26/01/2012 21:32

Oh yes Hopefully sorry to hear that you felt so down today. I was trying to think of some wise words but thought the replies you got were all wiser. Hope you have a better day tomorrow.

MrsCB i would love it if you could make the MU! Fingers crossed all the tests come back ok.

Reine thats a gorgeous dress. Can really see you in it.

Portia4 · 26/01/2012 21:34

I meant to say that I received the Aggies from ASOS, they look a strange in the hand and if it wasn't for the zip I wouldn't have known which is left or right! I'm walking around the house in them at the mo trying to make up my mind, mind you they are so cheap that even if I had a brief flirtation rather than a life long relationship with them, that would be fineWink

OllieinOrange · 26/01/2012 21:36

I know I should know this, but whats a VLS?

Emo76 · 26/01/2012 21:40

Vodka Lime Soda!

I recommend a tonic water with slice of lemon - almost a G&T. Also have been drinking grenadine and sparkling water - a dramatic red colour!

mrscb I like your thinking re sweater..... and hope your tests go well.

I dare not add up my expenditures. Perhaps that is why I should?!

notyummy · 26/01/2012 21:41

Vodka, lime and soda.
