Sorry for poor thread title but I am hopeless at rhyming at the best of times...
Unbelievable how quickly we filled the last thread!

Had one hour on Friday before the meeting started and used my time very efficiently and bought these. They are not quite as high as the 50/50s but suit me better. Was hugging the shopping bag close to me on the train back home yesterday Grin.

ollie Such a shame that your DH isn't going to go with the job offer over here. Oh, the fun we could have!

hopefully Having you on this thread is great and I enjoy reading your posts a lot. I hope your mother doesn't find any more tidying tasks for you today. You look fab in your wedding pictures.

annie Hope you got all your work done last night and have the chance to get some rest today.

red We have our hob on our kitchen island too. We couldn't decide on backsplash for ages. Haven't had one for ages and it is absolutely fine. I do most food preparation stuff on the island anyway.

Have lovely Sundays everyone!

Blue I am Grin at Kylie's left eyebrow being a source of sadness to you.

I am quite hoping to find a new blazer this year. I just ebayed a really nice Hilfiger one that I've had for years. It was lovely, but wrong colour and wrong kind of print for me. And totally synthetic, which bothers me more and more, I find . Love the idea of shorts and flats with a blazer, not sure my legs are up to it though!

I keep an obsessive tally of what I spend on clothes (a spreadsheet is involved). The amount I have spent since Christmas is rather scary, but since I spent a grand total of £350 on everything (including footwear and underwear) last year, I don't feel too guilty. I am allowing myself pretty much my entire annual budget from last year in one hit in order to have some actual clothes in my life, then I will stick to a sensible monthly budget from here on in. I am well over half way through last year's hypothetical budget...

Annie how sad about the Marni skirt! I actually find stuff that's too small is a good incentive, but only when I'm already dieting and losing weight, iykwim. Keeping a skirt on the off chance that you might have the time to exercise etc is definitely the best way to end up completely demoralised.

NY mine is more a sofa than a seat Wink

I am hunting for some nice relaxed plain t-shirts, not skin tight. I am hesitating to say oversized because I don't want them massive. Don't mind spending on Splendid etc, but can't see any in nice colours. Want a nice neutral (preferably warm creamy white, but would settle for beige/camel) and a bright colour. Preferably scoop, v or square neck, crew neck is bloody awful on me. Feel free to link if you come across any!

Hopefully · 26/01/2012 13:26

Oh, and my blog is here. A bit neglected at the moment, but I'm slowly getting back up to speed.

MidnightinMoscow · 26/01/2012 13:27

Hello.

Sorry to hear that NYE, have posted on your thread.

Shame about the skirt Annie, but like NY agree its wise not to keep. Will just keep taunting you.

Just returned home from taking DS to toddler group - my goodness, he is pushing the buttons at the moment. I suspect he knows there is something a foot in regards to the baby coming soon.

I just bought a box of Spatone from Boots too - am certain my iron is still really low and we are having steak and watercress for dinner tonight. The midwife told me that being anaemic could inhibit my milk production so need to get it sorted once and for all.

Thanks for the feedback about post birth weight loss and shape. I will get a pair of olive skinnies if I see some, although not convinced by the TS one's material.

ReineDeSaba · 26/01/2012 13:31

Hello everyone..

can't believe how the new thread is flying along,I'll never keep up Smile

have been organising/baking for DD1's 5th birthday..can you believe I cried when the babycentre sent me an email saying the month by month updates stopped at this milestone!

back to fashion..

fleecy I loved your pinky buys

yummy I have a DP dress that I wear about once a week,it fits and washes brilliantly and cost the princely sum of 7 pounds!also I have reserved the north korea book from the library.

carciofi I can see you in that gorgeous Raoul top and those beautiful Maxmara dresses..love,love,love the lillac/pink one.

the mini meet sounded totally fab..makes me excited all over again about march MU.

zembo and fritzi divine scarf purchasing.

nye great find for ollie fingers crossed it's THE dress.

red I have kitchen envy..I keep meaning to say I love the cops programme..totally absorbing..also you are my fashion fairy..I ordered the VWAyou linked to and then had buyers remorse..But it arrived and I love it(Roxylove Smile ) so thanks, thanks thanks..a birthday present to myself!..sorry couldn't seem to link

also finally had some outnet success.. love it

another birthday present Wink

ReineDeSaba · 26/01/2012 13:42

of course..lots of crossposting!

hopefully your mum and teatowel story made me snort..will bookmark your blog.

annie shame about Marni..you have a very good 'outnet eye!'

mim I am not much bigger than pre-babies..in fact chest and 'bezza' both dropped so smaller there but my shape has changed..waist less defined so slightly altered the sizing and styles I'd choose.

ReineDeSaba · 26/01/2012 13:44

marsha well done on job front..I know it's a serious dilemma for you but I keep imaging you as the Robert De Niro character in 'Heat' who always needs to know he can exit a situation in 6minutes(?)

MarshaBrady · 26/01/2012 13:59

Oh Reine that is really making me laugh. And so true. I feel like I we have a great thing going on and they are pushing me to take it to the next level. Like a relationship. Just leave a good thing alone already! Grin

Dh is being very nice and funny, and has upped his version of the counter offer Wink. Some free time. Sounds nice, more to ponder.

Back later on to catch up.

MarshaBrady · 26/01/2012 14:13

(Unless of course the taking up of free time means the destruction of any career whatsoever for all eternity.... then he's merely being ok.)

Russianred · 26/01/2012 14:14

*Hopefully have you tried Whistles - you've described the t-shirt I bought on Saturday, although they don't have a good range of colours yet - am sure more will be coming in though as they still have some of last year's shape in the sale stuff and there were plenty of shades. Hope you're enjoying having DH back. Your blog is really something - well done!

Reine am so pleased you got it! Can't remember what it was like now, but know that I really wanted one. Have also enjoyed Coppers, the episode I spent a lot of time on is the last in the series, so looking forward to seeing that.

How irritating about the skirt Annie, but you are wise to return/pass on. I have something in my wardrobe which I will never get back into, but it is just too, too beautiful to give up on. Makes me feel shit whenever I try it on.

MiM hope your iron boosting efforts are successful. Is DS 'prepared' for the new baby? I sat down a lot with DS from now-ish onwards looking at all the pictures from pregnancy/birth/first few days which may have helped a bit.

NYE I feel unqualified to comment on your other thread, but I hope the day is picking up for you and that all the support and advice given has helped. FWIW, I think you sound to do an amazing job and one shouty day with DS will in no way negate the wonderful mother you are, full-time.

Re. Kate Moss, I do like her a lot, but I've sad it once and I'll say it again, she is morphing into Gillian Taylforth (not her fault, obvs). Kylie has gone over the edge - in her 'spinning around' phase she was completely stunning, but now looks perma-frozen. Her eyebrow upsets me too Blue.

Dauphin · 26/01/2012 14:21

busy few days as DH away and the parents are here...to be fair they have been pretty good. Very hands-on with the DCs who adore them, and I have been allowed to be the grown up 40 something that I am...downside is I have had wine every night, and am out to night so more wine. Oh well.

am feeling slightly overcome with nervous tension because the planners are sort of okaying what we want in principle size wise on the house extension, but want us to reconfigure the layout.....yikes, very exciting. Dh had amusingly thought I was a little too 'salesy' with the Planning lady...

Red-lovely kitchen....bet you can't wait....Have you been buying lots of new things for it?

Ollie - your kitchen is fab too. I rather like 'dirtier' blues actually. And did think that a taupey shade would also look cool. My fave at the mo is Paint Library Stone V...fab.

That remind me...MrsCB - Did you go with Elephants Breath in the end?

Fritzi yes to armchairs in bedrooms...I have them, mostly with varying Cabbages and Roses cushions or Cowboy Cath K cushion for DS.

Bloss do like the Raoul blouse.

No purchases from me...but did get girls some fab grey liberty print dresses from MiniAture, and Darcy Brown pj's today in a great boutiquey childrens shop.In the sale.

Like the Acne and KG boots.

Oh, and do like the name Jude. Names I love which I (probably) won't get to use now (excpet on maybe Dog or chickens): Girls: Stella, I still love Hermione, Romilly, Belle, India, Prue, Ottillie. Boys: Hugo, Frank, Johnny

Dauphin · 26/01/2012 14:25

I now want a silky cream tux jacket with shortish sleeves for going out. How random?

IceCreamCastles · 26/01/2012 15:48

Dauphin- we have virtually identical taste in names Grin. I know we have one matching one already and your other dd's name (the magic roundabout one) is a strong contender this time. I love Stella but sadly too many people here would connect it with the beer first and foremost.

Hermione is also great but I'm not brave enough and DH suggested Frank the other night which is growing on me a lot.

Kitchen looks great red- the sky lights are fantastic. We are getting flooring fitted tomorrow so will try to post photo then. Also getting new carpet fitted in baby's room so we can finally put the nursery furniture back together for first time since move.

Aggies arrived- not comfy enough but have alerted me to the fact that I do have a hole in my wardrobe for something similar.

Hope you're feeling brighter now NYE. Did you meet up with hopefully?

I like armchairs in bedrooms fritzi. Tend to get clothes accumulating on them though.

Marsha- am feeling u

IceCreamCastles · 26/01/2012 15:50

Oops- your job dilemmas but have no solutions for you- sorry!

rufus101 · 26/01/2012 16:55

Red so true about Kate Moss and Gillian Talforth! You should get a prize for pointing out that the emperor is not wearing any clothes!
NYE hope you've managed to perk up. Tomorrow is another day, and DC are very forgiving of shouty mums. Mine have to be anyway.

AmberNectarine · 26/01/2012 16:58

Now see, I think KM looks like a lizard but in a very compelling way...

MrsCampbellBlack · 26/01/2012 17:07

I read interview in Times today with KM and actually feel that she's just been the victim of the DM and their 'we hate women' agenda. Especially those who look like they've had a bit too much fun.

And I am convinced if I ever saw KM in the flesh that I'd think she was pretty attractive.

Red - your kitchen looks lovely.

Kylie has definitely had too much work. I have botox but its a lot more subtle than that as good practitioners just don't do the totally frozen look any more.

MrsCampbellBlack · 26/01/2012 17:09

Oh and keep meaning to say I saw the 50:50's in Russell & Bromley and oh my - they are gorgeous.

Blue & Zembo - I tried these on this week and they're lovely but were £175. So a very good price on shopbop which is my new favourite website Wink

carciofi · 26/01/2012 18:38

NYE, hope you are ok.

Jude is a fab name.

My friend saw KM in a hotel bar and said she is very pretty. I'd prefer to go out drinking with her than discuss yoga with Christy Turlington. Kylie and Madonna look freaky now.

Reine, lovely scarf.

Rufus, I thought about somewhere nicer for an early bird but want to keep it cheap and cheerful as everyone is pretty broke. You probably know that K has had to close her salon. It's a real shame. We are going to the King Sitric on the Friday night.

Bloss, I'm going to wear the Raoul top with jeans. And this hat that I've just ordered in the My-Wardrobe sale.

I have 50 watchers on my Mulberry bag, come on, bid, bid! An Alexa is at stake. Wink

carciofi · 26/01/2012 18:41

Forgot to say, Hopefully, great blog. You are so talented.

FritziGreenEyes · 26/01/2012 19:00

I have a pair of James Jeans from last year and can highly recommend.

reine Fab DVF scarf!

mim I'm not really involving DH in any interior decorating decisions. Sometimes he doesn't even notice for days that something has changed. Smile

annie Shame about the skirt but very wise to not keep it.

carciofi Fingers crossed for your ebay listing!

emo Forgot to say: Well done on no teetotal January. Loved your foray into German the other day Wink.

FritziGreenEyes · 26/01/2012 19:06

Don't know why I'm attracted to big bags at the moment, but I like this from GAP. Also in blue.

OP posts:
FritziGreenEyes · 26/01/2012 19:09

If only the sleeves were a bit longer on this dress

OP posts:
rufus101 · 26/01/2012 19:09

Great hat Carciofi, I love hats. Have a few, and don't wear them enough. I thought that might be the case with K's salon. Real shame. I've only been in the King Sitric once. Have you thought about Ivans? (as cheaper alternative to the Stiric)They do a great 2 courses for 22 euro all night every day. You should link to your alexa on here Carciofi, bet you'd sell it PDQ then!
I saw KM in RL in Brown Thomas, a few years ago, when PD was in Dublin for a gig. She looked very ordinary TBH. Of course don't we all, without the outfit and the glam make up? However that may have been a bad phase in her life. The problem with stars is that they don't know when to stop with the fillers and botox. And whoever is giving it to them, clearly doesn't have the nerve to say "enough already".
Great blog Hopefully, and I really enjoy your posts BTW.
Bloss, what do you think of this DVF dress? It's less fitted at the waist than I would normally go for, but it looks as if it hangs so nicely.

carciofi · 26/01/2012 19:21

Papa Carciofi is paying on Friday night so I shall not worry about the bill! That dress is gorgeous.

OllieinOrange · 26/01/2012 19:22

Me too Fritzi I thought this dvf one was great.

Off to Shred now, back later.
