I'm really tempted to try ones of these. Anyone recommend Glossy Box, Boudoir Prive, Feel Unique or similar? I keep reading beauty blogs to see which is best.

Yes to a swaps thread, I was

StellaAndFries · 27/02/2012 21:53

Posted too soon!

I was very pleased with my carmine box, what shades of nail
Polish and Lippy did everyone else get?

Housewife2010 · 27/02/2012 22:01

I'm impatiently waiting for my Carmine box. I'm not going to say which shades/scents I'm hoping for because MN jinxed me horribly with that for Glossybox!
Good/bad news whichever way you see it, but I've just discovered that yet another BB about to be launched - LuxBox. There's nothing on the website yet, but some info on Facebook. It will be 5 samples for £10 - doesn't mention P&P.

Anyone know when the SheSaid boxes are due to be posted?

StellaAndFries · 28/02/2012 13:14

I'm sure I read on FB that they are being dispatched tomorrow, I hope so I've been looking forward to seeing what's in it!

I've added a post to the spoiler thread if anyone is interested in swapping their lippy or nail varnish x

dingdong3 · 28/02/2012 14:36

just for info on the Carmine box for anyone who recently signed up... Carmine Beauty Box

dingdong3 · 28/02/2012 14:37

quote from Carmine ...
if the Feb box will be your first box with us you will be receiving the alternative box - we can assure you we are replacing the two original items with items that are of equal value so hopefully that will MAKE-UP for it ;) We can't reveal anymore on which items are still in the box or the new items because we appreciate some people like to have the surprise element when opening their monthly Carmine box and we don't want to spoil that!

Housewife2010 · 28/02/2012 19:45

I've started a BB swaps thread if anyone is interested.

There's a Glossybox offer on the MN newsletter:

10% off a six-month subscription to GLOSSYBOX
GLOSSYBOX is a monthly beauty box subscription. Each month you will receive five carefully selected high-end beauty miniatures. Take a look at what Mumsnetters are saying about it.

Get your six-month 10% discount by entering AFF10OFFGIFT6M at the checkout

If you decide to do this & are willing to let me refer you (so I can earn loyalty points) please PM me for a link first. It's not compulsory, but I would be very grateful!

The special edition Harrods Glossybox is now available.

OP posts:
StellaAndFries · 01/03/2012 14:21

I've ordered mine, can't wait to recieve it :)

NewGirlInTown · 01/03/2012 18:20

Is the Harrods Box replacing the normal March box or do you have to order it separately? Thanks to anyone who knows

Housewife2010 · 01/03/2012 19:51

Hello

The harrods box will be the March box. Its unusual in that they're letting us see the products in it before its delivery date.

OP posts:
NewGirlInTown · 01/03/2012 20:15

Thank you Housewife, I can't wait to see!

cornsilkalala · 02/03/2012 12:13

the she said is a pile of crap Angry
5 minuscule samples of crap
I really regret signing up for the 6 months. The glossy box was so much better

Housewife2010 · 02/03/2012 14:24

Cornsilkalala

I agree re shesaid. I was too late to get this month's box, but I'm not impressed. I signed up for 6 months too! I really dont want false eyelashes, tea, black nail polish or 2 year old cream (have you checked the date on your balm? There's a bit of a fuss on FB re the 2010 dates on the balm & some people's are dried up & crusty!)

For anyone thinking about getting Amarya Beauty Boxes, I've just seen this on FB:
"VERY IMPORTANT NEWS re: Amarya Beauty Box

Having just finished a very lengthy 'phone call with Royal Mail, Amarya will, with regret, start to charge postage of £2.50 for any NEW subscribers to our Beauty Box as from Monday 12th March.

This will not affect any existing subscribers until their 12 months are completed.
If there are any questions regarding this please let us know."

If anyone is thinking of doing a subscription to Amarya, if you are willing to let me refer you then PM me. We would both get a free month's box at the end of 12 months. A year's subscription is £120 including a free gift from Santaverde worth £56. Or I have a link for a year's sub for £100 (minus the gift).Yoy will also get loyalty points for 10% of what you paid which you can use at Amarya. So a year's subscription, being referred & loyalty points worth £10 would mean 14 boxes for £100 , i.e £7.17 a box.

Cornsilkalala and Housewife - I know! I can't believe the SheSaid box is so disappointing. Having received other beauty boxes, I know I didn't have unrealistic expectations. I feel like a mug having signed up for 6 months. They had longer to get it right too, having watched rival companies for the past few months. Meh.

maz78 · 02/03/2012 19:24

I received the SheSaid Box yesterday after all the hype and was really disappointed. I'm quite new to Beauty Boxes but this one was truly rubbish! Black nail varnish and massive fake lashes - really?? A low end lip gloss thing and some tiny samples. Even at the discounted price it wasn't worth what I paid for it. I told them and unsubscribed at once but they weren't very apologetic.

cornsilkalala · 02/03/2012 19:25

how do you unsubscribe? I can't find an option on the site

maz78 · 02/03/2012 19:50

I emailed customer care, it's not obvious and had to get them to confirm I was unsubscribed.

Housewife2010 · 02/03/2012 19:55

Do you think it's possible to unsubscribe to Shesaid even though I've paid upfront for 6 months?

OP posts:
maz78 · 02/03/2012 20:27

It's definitely worth trying! You could say you're really disappointed and that you didn't feel you got your money's worth...

Housewife2010 · 02/03/2012 20:30

I haven't received a box yet. I subscribed too late to get the first box, but it's really not for me. I'll try them tomorrow.

OP posts:
cornsilkalala · 02/03/2012 20:42

I've paid for 6 months as well...will try phoning them
