Beauty Boxes

I'm really tempted to try ones of these. Anyone recommend Glossy Box, Boudoir Prive, Feel Unique or similar? I keep reading beauty blogs to see which is best.

My glossy box has arrived! I'm really impressed, it took ages to open as I was that excited to open it I couldn't wait until DS had finished feeding and had to do it one handed Grin

Has anybody gone for the 12 months with the free gift from Amarya? Is the free gift any good? (And housewife - how does that work with referrals? Would you still get your free box?)

Housewife2010 · 22/02/2012 10:35

I went for 12 months with Amarya. I used a link to get 12 months for £100 but you don't get the free gift with that. www.amarya.co.uk/index.php/amarya-beauty-box-greenparent.html
I wasn't bothered by the free gift. It's a Santaverde skin care set worth £56, but I wasn't sure if I'd use it. If you pay monthly you get loyalty points worth 10% of your order. So I decided to get the 12 months for £100 & the £10 of loyalty points which could be spent on a 13th box. The referrals scheme definitely works with annual subscriptions. I got someone to refer me so that was then 14 months for £100, i.e £7.16 a box. If anyone wants me to refer them just PM me & we'll both get an extra month free at the end of our first year.

Also, I had a good look at all the recent Amarya boxes before I decided to order. Everyone gets the same thing so you wouldn't get the problem that you can get with Glossybox when the boxes can vary from person to person. ( I'm still grumpy about today's leopard print nails!) There's always a full-size product in it & I decided that it was definitely worth the £7.16 for 14 months of nice post!

I just got <a class="break-all" href="http://www.google.co.uk/aclk?sa=l&ai=C1q7-BkhGT9SQOKfC0AX-xemfBMSSla4CnJjPyCjZ1YDtXAgAEAFQ-sH1r_v_____AWC7xpqD0AqgAYS3juoDyAEBqQLRy-eerly6PqoEG0_Q8MbKVuDINiGmwTw1t39FElBp_yl66W2tvw&sig=AOD64_3xjpC8E17N0GMd5drcw43-wXKvrg&ved=0CBIQ0Qw&adurl=www.carmine.co.uk%3Fpromo%3DGA5607&rct=j&q=beauty%20box%20carmine%20february&cad=rja" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">this link for a half price Carmine box.

Haven't used it yet but seems to work...

Housewife2010 · 25/02/2012 15:44

I think I'm going to succumb this weekend to a Shesaid box. Cheap subscriptions until the 27th - don't like not having any previous boxes to check though. The first Shesaid member who sends me their link will be halfway towards their free box!

If anyone wants to join Amarya or Glossybox & is willing to let me recommend them, just let me know. If you get referred to Amarya by an existing member, we both get a free box at the end of our 1st year.

I see the Carmine boxes have started to arrive. Some spoilers online if you're interested. Looks pretty good! I'm giving one away this month of my blog too if you like the look of it! Closing the competition tonight! HERE

Housewife2010 · 25/02/2012 20:25

If anyone is thinking of ordering from Amarya, there's the following free gift this weekend:
"Any order over £15 placed with us today and over the weekend will receive a 30ml Deluxe Trial-Size version Caudalie Gentle Cleanser for FREE."
This is also available for the annual Beauty Box subscription, but not the monthly one. See my earlier post for link to reduced subscription (£100 rather than £120) & PM me if you want me to refer you so we both get an extra box free.

I can't get the carmine payment to go through at all.

cornsilkity · 26/02/2012 14:34

housewife I can't see the free set on the amarya site

Housewife2010 · 26/02/2012 14:59

Re the free Caudalie cleanser if you spend £15 with Amarya this weekend, I've checked their website & facebook & it's not advertised there, but I got the following email on Thursday:
"This Weekend's Offer for you is:

Any order over £15 placed with us today and over the weekend will receive a 30ml Deluxe Trial-Size version Caudalie Gentle Cleanser for FREE.

There's no need to enter any special codes - simply spend £15 or over and the free gifts will be sent automatically!

*offer does not apply to the monthly Beauty Box scheme or to Amarya Vouchers
*Deluxe Trial-Size version does not come in the bottle shown
Offer ends midnight Sunday 26th February 2012."

If you are interested, but want proof before ordering, just put a question on their Facebook page. I've found that they answer very quickly - even on Sundays.
If you were questioning the free Santaverde gift set worth £56 with an annual subscription for the Beauty Box, you only get this if you order the Box at the fill price of £120. If you use my link to get it for £100 you don't get the free gift. With both offers you do get 10% back of your cost in Amarya loyalty points that can be put towards future boxes or anything else they sell.

Hope that answered your query. If you're willing to let me be your referee for a box subscription , just let me know.

have given up on it and bought off QVC instead Grin am already subscribed to shesaid anyway

Housewife2010 · 27/02/2012 12:11

The latest themed beauty box from Latest in Beauty is now available. www.latestinbeauty.com. It's£14.99 inc P&P & apparently has £80 worth of products. Three full size products & lots of samples. It's limited edition so may sell out very soon.

Scarlettno1 · 27/02/2012 12:32

Freebie alert :) My friend gave me this link for a free sample of Amargan's new advanced styler email [email protected] quoting AD, it works and the product is great too. Enjoy:)

Housewife2010 · 27/02/2012 12:45

PS It contains a full size Smashbox Full Exposure mascara in black which retails at £20 in Debenhams so if you use that/ fancy trying it, the box is definitely worth it.

porkypine · 27/02/2012 17:29

Housewife I fear you're trying to bankrupt me. That box looks amazing.
Yes I have just bought one

cornsilkity · 27/02/2012 17:47

God I want one now.

StellaAndFries · 27/02/2012 20:09

I want need that box, might have to get one next week of they don't sell out. I'd use all of it especially the red lippy and the mascara.

Housewife2010 · 27/02/2012 21:24

Stella, They have been warning that it is very limited edition, so if you really want one it may be worth getting it asap. I nearly got it. It's very good value as the 3 full size products retail at £40 & the whole box is supposed to be worth £85. At the very last minute though I decided I was getting swept away with the limited edition hype - I don't need another mascara or black eye liner & probably wouldn't wear the red lipstick. The other samples in the box weren't worth £15 to me.
I'm eagerly waiting for my Carmine box now - just hope I get the shower gel & lipstick/polish shades that I want. Does anyone think we should have a Beauty Box Swaps thread on here?
