I tried on the Finchley dress at Xmas and thought it looked massive on the hanger. It fitted around the waist (after I thought looked too big Wink ) but absolutely hung off me around the top. The arms were falling off and the cowl thing practically showed my stomach it was that big. Fitted terribly on me. I really wanted it too!

From the sale I got the slouchy jumper (can't remember name) in green which doesn't look right on. The Apres treggings that are like thick leggings but baggy ish Confused and the leggings in grey, which are too big - soo all going back Sad

Maraki · 13/01/2012 22:35

I got my Finchley dress and it fits!!!! I am so happy! I'm an hourglass size 16 with massive boobs (34H) so I got the XL. I need 'pants of steel' otherwise the tiny waist rides up and the back is baggy, otherwise it's good, although terribly creased.
Got the roebuck, which is a dark chocolate brown, I think that it would look ok with black opaques and black shoes. In the summer it will be nice with a turquise cardigan, nude tights and beige shoes.
I am so happy, thank you everyone for letting me know about this (and the MN scarf which I adore)

I have been lurking here all week!

Ordered the finchley dress in medium roebuck and sent it back - very, very odd. Fitted around the hips and waist but massive on top like everyone else says. Also sent back the princess pocket coat as it was an odd fit, as was the noella tunic (I am a 12, got medium and both were way too big). I have only kept two jumpers - huntress and bermonsdsey and a couple of the ballerina cap sleeve t shirts but I love what I have kept so thanks for the link and I'll be looking at their sale again in the summer!

Himalaya · 14/01/2012 09:25

Have been lurking too.

I bought the million kisses dress (quite nice, not sure about the puffy sleves), winter phoenix button dress (fab), Angie crepe tunic (ok), a back to basic top (really nice quality) and the belted coat Cardigan in brown, which is obviously so boring they didn't give it a name - but I've been living in it since it arrived.

I was really happy overall with the quality, so I went back for another top, a jacket and the long cardi thing.

I hope they don't go out of business.

ThatVikRinA22 · 14/01/2012 11:20

you know i am sure those finchley dresses must be from different batches.....

my M is ok, my L were really really odd fitting. I expected better quality tbh but i am happy with what ive kept.

still cant make a decision on the blardy coat though....

msbuggywinkle · 14/01/2012 17:46

Ok, I can't decide wether to keep the Lady Grey dress or not!

Technically it should be great on me, and the colour looks good. I just can't decide if it is just because it is very different to the dresses I usually wear. I am a tea dress addict. Think I will get DP to take lots of pics of me in it with my hair done...tried it on with horrendous 'gone to sleep with wet hair' hair.

PattiMayor · 14/01/2012 18:01

My million kisses and finchley dresses arrived today. Despite what I thought, an XL was actually the right size to get. I am 36DD and so the finchley fits really well, the million kisses is a teeny bit tight round the boobs but I really need to lose a few pounds so that will be my incentive :)

Of the two, I love the million kisses more

JoantheFennel · 14/01/2012 18:19

Buggywinkle, is it the pink one?

daenerysstormborn · 14/01/2012 18:26

msbuggy, i have the lady grey dress in siamese and really like it, wouln't have paid full price for it, but is good for £18. which colour have you got?

TuttoRhino · 14/01/2012 18:35

Hmm my Finchley dresses are going back. I don't like the fit of either M or L. It's such a shame as I love the pattern. The princess coat looks awful on me. I'm keeping a cardigan and a vest out of my haul.

Has anyone used the freepost labels successfully with sale items?

Himalaya · 14/01/2012 19:14

TuttoRhino - do you (and others) who've sent the Finchley dress back think it would fit anyone well - or do you think there is a weird batch which won't fit anyone ?

(...just wondering in case they cone back in stock with all the returns..)

msbuggywinkle · 14/01/2012 19:42

It's the pink, I have black hair and very pale skin. Have almost decided to send it back, it makes me look dumpy (er!) I think.

ThatVikRinA22 · 15/01/2012 11:44

himalaya - ive got a pic on my profile of how mine fits - the M fits so differently to the L on me, im sure there must be a difference in the cut.

DD has convinced me to keep the princess coat. It is quite fitted but while it feels quite odd it looks quite nice, just so odd that the waist is so high....but im not very tall so i think it s ok....

TracyK · 15/01/2012 11:55

I don't see any reason why you can't use the prepaid label if its there. I used my one at the beginning of december for the beginning of sale stuff and didn't have a problem.
I'll be using the one I got in this parcel too. Am sending one of my jumpers back - unf. not my colour (soft khaki col) - thought the wool is sooo lovely and soft.

daenerysstormborn · 15/01/2012 13:54

gp is on brand alley today

cardoon · 15/01/2012 13:58

Anyone got the farrel jersey dress?

TuttoRhino · 15/01/2012 15:02

I found the fitting of the Finchley dress bizarre. The large gapes at the back and the hips. Fit is fine in the waist. It is too tight around a small bit of the bottom bust area. It is shorter in length than I would normally wear.

The medium looks bizarre across the hips (but fits), fits at the top but won't do up at the bottom bust area.

I'm a 36DD and 5'8.

NanBullen · 15/01/2012 15:18

Ooh, they've refunded me for the noelle dress and refunded the delivery charge!

c0rnsilllk · 15/01/2012 15:22

oh wow - that's good!

RollerCola · 15/01/2012 15:32

As stock seems to be in short supply now how's the best way to get hold of things that are being sent back do we know?

Will GP show them as back in stock on the website or is it worth giving them a ring tomorrow? I'm after a Finchley dress in small (far too late I know but it's worth a shot)

Trumpton · 15/01/2012 17:25

I managed to get a dress for DD that only appeared on site for 5 mins. She is very pleased.

Posted my duplicate handbag back on Friday using the pre-paid label.

snowmaiden · 15/01/2012 19:17

If you use this code TREAT20 on Brand Alley you get an extra £20 off! (if you spend £60).
I just ordered the Cord jeans, the ruffle blouse, the heirloom blouse, 4 bangles and a pair of socks and it cost £52 including postage- bit of a bargain really, shame I have to wait until Feb for it to be despatched.

jumpinghoops · 15/01/2012 20:08

Thanks snowmaiden for that, managed to get the Soft Focus Coat, Lady Grey Dress and leopard belt for £48. Bargain.

ChablisLover · 15/01/2012 20:48

Anyone use the freepost label?

Sending 2 things back and am
Ina quandary as to use it or not?

OhBuggerandArse · 15/01/2012 21:30

Curses, the TREAT20 code didn't work for me. Wonder why?
