Are you all nursing hangovers or just clearing up the post Christmas mess?

My latest horror, seeing pics of me in profile from the weekend, and MY DOUBLE CHIN. It's like Lou Beale's from EastEnders. I'm sure you hags will remember her.

Not unconnected with weighing four pounds more than before xmas, and it all appears to have settled on my chin. At least it plumps out the wattle.

I SHALL shred this afternoon... And have a no carbs in the evening rule. Maybe.

HuffyTheSamphireSlayer · 26/01/2012 11:49

The fat that used to pad out my wattle to some degree has slid down my shoulders and is now dangling off my upper arms. And it doesn't matter how many fecking press-ups I do, wussy girl ones or otherwise, I have no hope that the situation is ever going to change. Unless I start eating a lot less, in which case I shall just end up one giant, wrinkly, shrivelled wattle with a couple of little muscles poking through the wrinkles.

Have tried to be all productive and go-getting this week and have just ended up totally frazzled and unable to sleep. Except when I am invigilating amd am suddenly overcome by the desire to lie down under the nearest desk and have a kip. I am just loading up with caffeine and sugar to keep going for this afternoon.

Either that, or you have a very clever dog :) I am now wondering what my hound's choice of listening would be..........(not the VW Star Wars ad that's for sure - he goes and hides when that comes on...)

Sounds like my mums cats....
My dog does the rain and then comes in looking bedraggled and smelling very 'damp doggy'...

bigTillyMint · 26/01/2012 17:10

Huffy, I have got the biggest bingo wings going, which look even wierder with my relatively toned biceps, especially when I do the weightlifting with one leg up move Hmm Did you do your observations yet?

MrsSchadenfreude · 26/01/2012 19:15

Went to see doctor and have antibiotic and steroid cream for rash. It is eczema, apparently. Also have to go and have an ultrasound (the English deserted me for a moment then, and I nearly wrote "echographie") as the doctor thinks I might have gallstones in my bile duct or have regrown my gallbladder.

Oh and have to go to the dermatologist to get my moles checked due to the number of my family who have died from malignant melanoma.

HuffyTheSamphireSlayer · 26/01/2012 19:38

Grin at Ruby's morning and the dog's listening choices. HuffyDog is more of a country fan, given his love of singing along to the harmonica - which ds exploits to the full. Dog also likes to howl when the smoke alarms go off. As they did when I burnt the toast at breakfast this morning. Ah, I love it when the day starts with a cloud of black smoke and the damned over-sensitive smoke alarm won't shut up and so neither will the dog.

BTM, yes I have the same top:good/bottom:bad thing going on with my upper arms. Still, I don't reckon much to the "knotted piece of string" Madonna look either. I'll just settle for faintly toned hammy arms and no sleeveless tops. Re: lesson obs, yes in between invig sessions I have been into watch some Yr12 AS and IB lessons. What a revelation! How civilised. :) And then I went into a mixed ability Yr10, which was much more familiar territory. Yr 11 on Monday. Should be interesting.

HuffyTheSamphireSlayer · 26/01/2012 19:40

Hmm, MrsS, that does not sound like a very uplifting visit to the doc. Is it common for a gall bladder to regrow?

Hags, I urgently need a hair cut as I am starting to resemble Jilly Cooper. It's not a good look. Any suggestions?

V odd. Posted from my phone last night, but it seems to not have appeared. Maybe because it was too dull.

Merely said that I did level 1 of the shred yesterday, and it wasn't too bad! Though I was v much following Anita, and not with a great deal of 'intention'. Ache today, but in that nice way.

Busy day today: work, then off up to mum and dad's house to look after dad. Lots of packing to do. A weekend with a toddler and an old man with alzheimers - I'm wondering who's going repeat the same question the most times. Wine is going to have to see me through.

When dealing with a person with memory problems, is it best to just answer the question that they keep asking, as if you've never answered it before, or to say 'I TOLD YOU FIVE MINUTES AGO. The dinner's ready at 6,' or whatever. It's the former, isn't it...

I'm going to get a whiteboard, ruby! Great minds, and all that.

A while ago mum went out - to somewhere 'out of the routine' - and dad didn't know where she'd gone, so started wandering around the town looking for her, including buying a ticket for the theatre to see if she was there.

A whiteboard saying 'I'm visiting June' or whatever would have saved such hideousness.

I need a whiteboard, I could write on it 'where did you have it last?'

Re vouchers - I like the thinking :)

House - searches have commenced (party poppers, ballons, trumpets....), so lets see. I am not packing another bloody thing though until the date is agreed.

MrsS - that sounds like one hell of a trip to the doctors.......(or did you save it all up!)

It's Friday ladies - anyone got anything interesting planned? (I am going to mum/sil's birthday tomorrow - postponed from last week). Then I shall continue with my marathon session of HP films (currently on number four) that ds is forcing me to watch with him...oh, and Borgen of course...

I just had a hot date with Jillian too, Ruby, isn't she the lucky one? Grin. Noticed something today.... when she goes over to Anita to do that 'you're feeling it aren't you buddy', Natalie stops lungeing because she thinks she's off camera!

BD hurrah about searches. We too are on HP 4! Watching on Sunday. At least I think it's four, the last one had the death of Cedric Diggery killed by the noseless Ralph Fiennes.

Herbs enormous sympathy, that sounds like a hysterically bad combo but major drum roll for Ruby's whiteboard. I just know we're all going to dash out and buy one.

Proud of DD2 (7) today. Yesterday a boy in her class messaged her 'the f word' in big green letters (to impress her, which it probably did. That's the kind of girl she is Hmm). Amazingly she didn't send the f word back in bigger red letters and get busted, she actually told the teacher. It definitely happened the other way in a parallel universe.

Enjoy the blue skies if you have them.

Blackduck · 27/01/2012 12:37

Dukes noooooooooo, you must be on FIVE, Cedric alive and well in Four (but clearly not for long...) :(

'sokay, have read the books and do remember this..... :)
