Are you all nursing hangovers or just clearing up the post Christmas mess?

So far I have not found time to actually do the Shred, but I am going to my circuits class (which is v.v. similar, frankly) again tonight. Ds did 5 mins of the Shred the other day before he had to stop because he was laughing so much at the "funny ladies" Hmm. I can't do full press-ups - despite practicing hard for the last few years (well, I can manage one very feeble one). It appears to be a physical impossibility. I can do lots of wussy Anita ones and it does hurt the next day. I am not convinced that any jumping up and down is very good for me - I worry about the ole pelvic floor that flaps almost as much as my neck wattle but with potentially far more disastrous results. Maybe I will just watch the Shred - whilst enjoying my post-circuits glass of wine and packet of crisps. Grin

MrsS, I often overheat because I insist on wearing a scarf all the time. :) I reckon I need to wear more polo necks. Although then again that will just highlight my flabby jowls. Cowl necks, maybe. Or niqab.

BD, glad the celebration of your friend's birthday went well.

HuffyTheSamphireSlayer · 24/01/2012 12:44

X-posts, BD. Sorry to hear about your useless buyers. What flakes!

Blimey, it's Shred City out there. I won't be joining you; I am happy enough with my running. Another Forrest Gump run this morning - I literally bounded into the house afterwards, feeling I could have easily done another circuit. I have no ideas why I'm like this one day, then barely able to stumble 100m the next....

BTM, DS has an X-Box. They tend to go with what their mates have, and nearly all have X-Boxes here, so that's what he wanted for his 11th birthday. X-Box Live is pretty essential if he is going to be playing online with mates, which is an annual subscription. Yes, like all such things it needs limiting, but luckily the homework and football demands mean that he doesn't spend hours on it.

bigTillyMint · 24/01/2012 17:11

Excellent news ruby - hope his exam goes as well!
And good ideas about swapping some level 1 moves into level 2 - my problem is that I need her telling me what move to do next. I will just have to try to remember the swaps! I could definitely do the punches and the side-lunges.

CV, thanks for the X-Box info. I agree - it's X-Boxes all round here too I think. We will definitely be saying no live access in the foreseeable though - by the time he goes to secondary, he will have so much homework and after-school sports as well as weekend footie, he won't have much time for it Wink

I have a rash on the back of my legs (behind my knees) which I have been trying to self-treat with hydrocortisone cream and daktarin. It has now spread and is oozing (DH helpfully said "It looks as if your leg is going to fall off from the knee.") - I am going to have to go to the doctor now, aren't I? Sad He is going to roll his eyes...

bigTillyMint · 24/01/2012 19:00

Are you prone to eczema? Or could it be a sweat rash that has become infected? Will he roll his eyes in a sexy French way?

I feel small and fat and flabby and I am running a cold EVEN THOUGH I SWAM 60 LENGTHS AT 7AM.

In other news, I have deepest sympathies for all of you afflicted with houses, rashes and so on.

Blackduck · 24/01/2012 21:29

Oh MrsS much sympathy and yes drs tomorrow.
Ruby - glad all okay.
House- we have clearly put the frighteners on and hopefully tomorrow mortgages will be agreed and searches commenced ( much contrition on part of buyers, but action not words please).
Have had mega good curry at local - four and a half eat for 24 pounds (byo). Love it and will miss it.
MI - small and fat here... Must stop ordering cases from naked wines...

Right, I have put dinner in the slow cooker for tonight (North Indian chicken curry with veg). Now to jump in the shower, go into the office and do battle with my boss who is playing fast and loose with my team and refusing to allow us the extra 0.5 of a person that we need, without saying where this work is going to go.

bigTillyMint · 25/01/2012 07:28

MrsS, recipe please!

bigTillyMint · 25/01/2012 07:31

ruby, what is this MN scarf you speak of? Not that I am buying, of course! And I have just done (well, as best I could) level 3 of the shred.

BD hope your DH's ultimatum does the trick.

BD, hope you have some positive news on the house front today.

MrsS, I hope you have won the battle with the boss. And managed to get to the doc.

BTM, well done for L3 Shred. Are you feeling better for all this Shredding? :) I went to circuits again last night but had no wine. Have early starts for work this week. Am feeling coldy and moany. Or is that just wine withdrawal?

HuffyTheSamphireSlayer · 25/01/2012 13:03

And Ruby, I'm glad your ds's appointment went OK. I hope his exam went OK too.

bigTillyMint · 25/01/2012 17:25
Blush

Some days I feel fitter and more full of energy, other days I feel as old as the hills with my back twingeing! I am trying to keep going through the pain!

MrsSchadenfreude · 25/01/2012 19:52

I was wearing my MN scarf today in the office and bumped into a colleague wearing the same one. I shouted "Snap! A tenner from eBay, right?" There was a tumbleweed moment while she paused before saying "Actually, I got mine from the Louis Vuitton shop." Apart from the fact that hers had the writing on, you couldn't tell them apart - they looked the same and felt the same, too. Guess I pissed on her parade a bit - hers was tied so that the writing was hidden, so they did look identical.

Am going to doc tomorrow. Due on and am having carbs and chocolate fest tonight.

I think I would be a leetle peed off if I had paid 400 quid for something that looked identical to a ten quid job from eBay. I, conversely, was delighted!

RRR - how odd! Grin

HuffyTheSamphireSlayer · 25/01/2012 20:39

I read Ruby's post upthread about cold beer and thought "Ah yes, that is what will perk me up". Mmmm. Actually I have nothing at all to say. I just wanted to use a Burns smiley [bgrin] Thankfully, dh does not insist we celebrate our Scottish roots with haggis, neeps and tatties. Otherwise I would be looking like this [benvy] (bleargh).

Blackduck · 25/01/2012 21:27

I am so horrified at how fat I am that I have decided to give up wine for a bit and am thinking about living on low fat yoghurt.....
No news on house today, dp to phone tomorrow.
I had 'elf and safety' meeting today, and quality meeting tomorrow - oh lord what have I done to deserve the heady exciting life :)

herbaceous · 25/01/2012 22:13

My 'no wine in the week' regime isn't going too well, as I've had wine each night since last Friday. And the 'no cake' thing isn't a roaring success either. DS had an eye appointment today, and I promised him cake afterwards, so of course had to keep him company.

I shall shred tomorrow!

DukesOfTripHazard · 26/01/2012 10:14

Hello gals. I have just realised I had a swig of red wine on Monday but have drunk nothing all week, how bizarre!

Sorry to hear of the house selling/buying woes.

Interested in the jumping boycott. So good for fat burning and yet... Ruby's desire for hips and knees to see her through resonates...

Latest horror, had eye test and have small cholesterol deposits. Oh my eyes never seemed more fitting.

Why anyone would pay 400 quid for a scarf is totally beyond me.
