Russianred · 22/12/2011 21:52

Oooh, just checking back in to see all the lovely things people got - so glad it all worked! Anyone want to hazard a guess as to who bought their gift. I was just thinking 'ooh, who got that then' and realised that I know nearly everyones. Fool.

Love this thread, thank you ladies for being there!

OllieinOrange · 23/12/2011 07:48

I think DH has woken up as Ebenezer Scrooge today - he is in a right old grump. Am banishing him to the supermarket which won't help improve his mood but it will stop me from having one!
What's todays W&A mantra about being nice????

Emo76 · 23/12/2011 09:25

pass the berocca....

MidnightinMoscow · 23/12/2011 09:54

Hello.

Oh dear Emo - are you feeling rough?

Ollie, smile and let it ride I suggest for today.

So lovely to hear that everyone liked their gifts. Yes, a big thank you to Amber for suggesting and Red for making it happen.

Have just really enjoyed reading the SS opening excitement! What fantastic presents, all so thoughtful and luxurious. This really is a special thread. Thank you so much for welcoming me in over this past month or so. Also, it just goes to show that you don't always have to spend a lot to get something stylish and special. pickled I have that whistles ring and love it!

mim so glad you had a lovely birthday and got spoilt. I sympathise heartily on the anaemia front; I have been on 3 iron tablets a day for the last two months and get so breathless. I was huffing and puffing this morning after just getting DS's trousers on! When are you due? And when are you icecream? My due date is Feb 7th although I have a feeling the baby's going to be early - mind you I thought that last time and DS was 13 days late!

portia which leather trousers have you gone for? They are top of my list for next autumn as I had to miss out this year.

Hope you're all having nice Christmas Eve Eves! I'm finishing wrapping and listening to Christmas music this morning and then late lunch and drinks in town with DH before we pick up DS from Mil this evening. Wearing festive skinny red jeans, IO long white ruched top, leather jacket and leopard print ankle boots.

Oh, any thoughts on this baby bag? Have been planning to use my battered storksak tan bag from last time, which I did love but now no less than 4 different friends have shamelessly copied me! I know this is hardly a priority when planning for baby but everything else is ready now and I don't really want to give up using my Alexa!

AmberNectarine · 23/12/2011 11:43

blue I nearly bought that changing bag, but then remembered I jettisoned my Cath Kidston on fairly early on last time. I now just use a large navy Longchamp Le Pliage with a folding mat which I find works well as they are rubber lined! Also my changing bag spends its life flung under the massive double buggy so no-one ever sees it. Do think it is very nice though (have seen in real life), and very light!

Russianred · 23/12/2011 11:47

Oh dear Emo, pyjama day perhaps?

Enjoying relaxing in our friend's place in the pouring rain - hope you travel well in this weather NY.

I used my new shampoo this morning and love it, but have a feeling Tresemme conditioner will no longer cut the mustard. Can any Kerastase experts recommend conditioner/styling stuff? Have had a look online and am baffled by the options.

Hope DH cheers up Ollie - perhaps put an elf hat on him?!

Oh thank you Santa Xmas Grin

My present just arrived and I cannot believe how thoughtful Santa has been! How did you remember ??? I got the most stylish car (albeit in miniature) and accessories! A navy blue fiat 500 - I can't tell you how much I love it, I shall put it somewhere prominant and smile EVERY time I look at it. Thanks so much, you are lovely Xmas Smile

Sorry I wasn't at the big unwrap last night. Very pleased my recipient likes her present! Everyone has been so thoughtful in choosing gifts, it's been lovely to been a part of it. Huge thanks to Amber for suggesting and to Red and her dh for organising.

Poor Emo hope you get to take it easy today.

Ollie hope dh's mood improves. I love the sound of your evening at school, the Dutch seem to be great at organinsing family activites. Of course you always put so much thought and effort into your contributions - they are lucky to have you!

I ran over to the shop just to buy icing sugar and came back with delicious ready made fish pie and lasagne, the relief of knowing I don't have add cooking dinner to my to do list is priceless. I find the few days before Christmas frantic and v stressful, so I am determined to do it differently this year.

Just got a sale preview email from Topshop, and heard elsewhere that Zara's is starting at some stage today. I managed to nip into town yesterday when my mum came over, got navy cashmere wristwarmers from Maje. Dc can give them to me. Lovely stuff in their sale.

Hope you all have lovely days!

Russianred · 23/12/2011 11:52

Is nice Blue - if you know you use a changing bag, a good buy. I know I never used either of the ones I bought for the purpose (you'd though I'd have learnt first time round) and I second Amber - mine gets slung under as it's hard to put on the back of a P&T and too heavy with two babies things in. Especially when it comes to potty training time. Your outfit sounds gorgeous by the way. Really festive and stylish.

You must look at this here you can show your dc a photo of Santa in your sittingroom

VerityBrulee · 23/12/2011 11:57

Blue I'm wearing red skinnies today too! Love the bag Xmas Smile

Red I have a lovely Kerastase leave in conditioner, I think it's Sublimateur Jour, I really notice the difference when I use it.

MidnightinMoscow · 23/12/2011 12:29

Great bag blue. I have a Lin and Leo which although is big is great for me as I always need to have a supply of food for DS everywhere I go, and its has loads of internal pockets which means I can store his epi-pens etc.

I have never been anaemic in my life before, in fact my iron level is usually really high for a woman. It just makes you feel exhausted though. I am due on the 16th of March, although DS was 2 weeks early.

red what shampoo was it in the end? I feel the need for new shampoo to go with the new hairdryer. Grin

Good idea VB on the food, best to make life as easy as possible in the run up to the big day. Did you get the Xmas shopping finished in the end?

I am eating birthday cake for lunch. DH and I went for a quick wander around the town this morning, for coloured jeans fans I saw the following which were lovely:

these are a stunning colour

these were so soft

Goodness, I miss normal clothes. Grin

AmberNectarine · 23/12/2011 12:52

wan love those Warehouse jeans - such a great colour. Will keep my eye out for them! Are you in Guildford by any chance?

blue forgot to say I will of course look out for the C/Es for you. If you like you can drop me a PM with your mobile number for a quick text if I find them to let you know how much they are? Cannot believe you are a 24 btw, I don't even think one of my thighs would fit into a 24!
