New thread.

Is this one MiM. At least you know about the anaemia and can get on with consuming mass amounts of steak and spinach! Lovely links there - am addicted to coloured jeans at the moment, can't imagine returning to indigo. Am on the verge of buying another pair of red ones as mine are now too big and a little faded. I wear them constantly. They had some lovely Mother ones in a burgundy shade in a 24 Blue.

I like the changing bag too Blue, though I do what Amber does, especially if I am using the Phil and Teds.

Mim, glad your dh bought you some nice presents and hope you start to feel better soon. I feel for you wanting normal clothes, I was exactly the same.

The Timberlands arrived, very comfy and not too clumpy. They will be good for the rain. I managed to unpack the box and hide them before DH saw (the downside of him being off is that he sees my deliveries!).

The Maje gloves sound great, Verity, I love that label.

AntPants1 · 23/12/2011 13:28

MIM I was anaemic with DS. Have you tried florodex or spatone. You can get both from boots. As I was only borderline..just under 10 thingmagigs I think, the midwife suggested I try these before using iron tablets. Obviously I was borderline but florodex worked for me. I was over 11 thingmagigs after a week or so of using it.....

IceCreamCastles · 23/12/2011 13:53

Phew- think I have about an hour before the festive hoards arrive so have put dd in her cot in the hope she will give me a little bit of time to relax!

So pleased everyone liked their presents- esp my recipient-such a relief! I have a good idea who mine was from Grin

MiM- hope the extra iron helps you feel better and glad you and dh have made up.

Blue- I am due on the 25th feb. Was induced early with dd as she was too small so not sure whether I'm likely to be early or late. V excited about hopefully having a natural start to labour this time.

Keep the changing bag links coming- dh bought me one of those pink lining yummy mummy ones last time- bless him for trying but not my sort of thing and I didn't use it much- whenever i did I hid the 'yummy mummy' bit Grin keep meaning to put it on eBay.

Hope you're feeling less fragile now emo.

MidnightinMoscow · 23/12/2011 14:25

I started taking iron from the doctor yesterday, same as blue three times a day. Have been very good though and eaten beef last night and then purchased some peanut butter to eat when DS is out. (Usually DH and I eat eggs when DS is not around, living dangerously Grin).

Thanks for that red. I also like the sound of the stuff the zembo linked too...hmmm.

What I want is some advice re styling products too, if anyone would care to share. I blow dry my hair from wet and then use my BBH. It does tend to go flat though after a while. Basically my hair is very thick and so the weight of it makes it flat. Any suggestions anyone?

AmberNectarine · 23/12/2011 14:38

mim I was severely anaemic in both pgs and for a good while after, and as well as iron tablets I drank Spatone supplements, which I found helpful.

Thinking of venturing out to Wimbledon Village tomorrow to check out the Matches sale. It'll be carnage, won't it?

Russianred · 23/12/2011 14:53

Yes , the oil is sitting in my basket. Do you use something like that in place of conditioner or in addition to? I have lots of fine hair, so quite flat too.

Hello all- journey going well!

Dd just opened her little ss present that was included with mine. A little owl ring in a pretty little bag. She loved it! Thanks so much.

MidnightinMoscow · 23/12/2011 15:16

red I think you need to play around with it. I believe you can use it before blow drying but it's not a styling product. I am confused!

carciofi · 23/12/2011 15:41

Red, I use Bain Satin conditioner and Nutritive Nectar Thermique to protect before styling. Also I was told that L'Oreal Mythic Oil is better than Elixir Ultime for fine hair. You use it in addition to conditioner.

That's a really cute little present, NY.

blossoming · 23/12/2011 15:57

Hi everyone. I'm at mil's having been to see Arthur Christmas and had a glass of merlot for lunch. DH and I still getting on great. I am wearing sharkskin Agnes, 50/50s, charcoal layering vest and whistles burgundy and navy stripey top, Roxy, dk grey scarf and cashmere beret. Freezing here. In her house. My memory of visiting at Christmas is everyone with a lit fire. Whatever.
Hope you have a good rest of your journey ny. What a lovely gift.
How close to the border are you red? Close enough to pop in for coffee Wink.
Really tempted with the timberlands now carciofi. I laughed at your comment re DH!

blossoming · 23/12/2011 16:01

ny just got an email to say 'Ripped in 30' is on its way!

AmberNectarine · 23/12/2011 16:24

On the subject of lavering vest, where do we think is good for them?

AmberNectarine · 23/12/2011 16:25

Vests. Sigh. I haven't had a full night's sleep in six months...

Russianred · 23/12/2011 16:27

Goodness, hair styling is a minefield. Thanks Carciofi will go and do some research!

Love the sound of your outfit today Bloss, shall attempt to recreate. Have just checked and we're about an hour away from you, I think. We're here for 10 days, so not entirely unfeasible.

DH had a bit of a chat this am and his mood lifted (apparently he gets annoyed by my leaving cups of cold tea around the house.....) We popped out and had a lovely hot chocolate and made a list of things we plan to get done in the house in 2012. Laughed at your elf hat suggestion Red!

Just as i feared, DS1 has reached breaking point due to end of time/not sleeping tiredness. Came home from school at lunchtime really angry that he couldn't have a playdate and refused to go and see Arthur Christmas even tho we'd pre booked tickets so DH took DS2 (which they both loved), So much for my lovely quiet afternoon wrapping the last lot of presents. Oh well, everything back to normal now. Prosecco was opened 13 mins ago and im on my second glass. Wine

Hope you are having a good journey NY.

Nice day planned tomorrow, lazy morning, trip to church in the afternoon for a crib service (not entirely sure what that is but DH wants to go) then going to see the festival of lights in the nearby village.

I feel huge all over, way too many festive nibbles/drinks taking its toil (she says about to tuck into sausages roasted with onions, baby toms, rosemary, potato wedges served with baked beans!)

Was planning on wearing new grey wool dress on Sunday. Whats everyone else wearing?

MarshaBrady · 23/12/2011 17:43

A good shopping day. Big recce for when parents get here. Liberty to Bond, Bruton and Mount St. Dh got worried I took so long. But I found the thing. I just hope it is still there next week.

Then eyebrows threaded. Can't believe it! I was quite nervous which was silly, but they do look much better. Then new make up.. Nars blush, Chanel mascara, laura mercier tinted moisturiser, and LM eyeliner in Black Violet. Not black!

And some Wolford tights in black sundot.

Ollie so glad you are getting on well. Dh and I are too these days.

Need to read through and catch up.

blossoming · 23/12/2011 19:00

Ah, I forgot you know all our addresses red! What are your plans? Are you near any shopping?
Glad you're having a nice evening ollie. Christmas sounds very family friendly where you are.
Can't wait to hear about it next week marsha. My eyebrows could go with some threading too.
DS just turned to us and said, I don't believe in Santa, I think it's you two! He is 7. I just said, well don't say anything to your sister. Not entirely unexpected, and it spares me the big reveal.

Russianred · 23/12/2011 19:29

Ah yes I do, but this time round I asked the Hay and Straw merchant for general timings! Plans not firmed up yet, we're just here. Shopping would be Shrewsbury, I guess.

Sounds like next week will be promising indeed Marsha - i love LM tinted moisturiser very much indeed.

Our friend's are out celebrating her Mum's birthday. We were invited too but politely declined, so are enjoying their wood burner, wine and a Christmas film, yet to be selected!

OP posts:
AmberNectarine · 23/12/2011 19:34

Is there even any other kind of tinted moisturiser? Marsha you've basically just bought my make-up bag, though I am currently using Hypnose mascara. Am not huge fan so thinking of getting the YSL one next - anyone tried?

Russianred · 23/12/2011 19:38

No, but I must recommend my latest mascara, best I've had yet - Mac's Falsh Lash.

OP posts:
blossoming · 23/12/2011 19:56

Ooh, the hay and straw merchant.......

MidnightinMoscow · 23/12/2011 20:06

Glad you had a good afternoon with DH ollie.

amber I would rate either Splendid or American Vintage for good layering vests.

marsha I am intrigued as to what the item is. Smile Yes, threading can become addictive. Although I find the constant reference to getting your full face threaded sometimes off putting. I went to get my brows done a couple of days before I got married in a big department store. The girl kept asking me if I wanted my face done. Now, I am pretty savvy as to where my beauty short comings are, but I never thought having a hairy face was a problem of mine. I was so paranoid that I when I went to the till to pay, I had to ask the women (who was independent to the threaders) if she could be brutally honest with me as to whether I had a hairy face, as I was getting married and really needed someone to be honest with me. Grin Thankfully she told me no, and that the threaders often try to pull the hairy face line.

red your evening sounds perfect.

ApuskiMcClusky · 23/12/2011 20:22

Lol at fearing you had a hairy face MiM! Bloss and Portia will remember my ill-timed first visit to get my eyebrows threaded, half an hour before meeting them for lunch the day of the MOAMU! "Hello, I'm Apuski, I don't normally having raging red eyebrows!".

Panicking slightly - can't find the boys' stockings amongst the many boxes, they might have been put in long-term storage by mistake!

I've gone for it with the sales today - NAP, Urban Outfitters and a bit of HoF all sending their wares my way! But I have just signed my new contract and negotiated a rate rise, despite being ridiculously timid about such things. No time to link just now, still some boxes to search, but I'll try later (DH is popping in to work in a minute Hmm.

Sounds like a lovely evening red, enjoy! Go on, cook something in their fully-functioning kitchen!

Fleecy · 23/12/2011 20:28

Just popping on to mark my place and can't believe how many posts there are already! Loving all the Secret Santa gifts and laughed at the HN/Selfridges dilemma described as being like choosing a favourite child.

Hope you all have a wonderful few days and 'see' you after Christmas Smile
