New thread.

OP posts:
Emo76 · 22/12/2011 13:53

took my daughters to work this morning - DD1 played sonic the hedgehog games on my PC and DD2 ran amok and charmed everyone. We were only there an hour followed by smash and grab for 3-for-2 towels at Habitat for impending hoardes of guests. We can manage one shop only these days as a threesome!

Wearing that navy warehouse swallow print top - what a great buy that was, nearly a year old now and still going strong. Oh, and james skinnies and 3 year old black miu miu riding type boots. Feeling quite wise but dying to be avid!

earharts looked odd on me - am not sure why. I just didn't seem to suit them. Maybe because I had the wrong shoes or top on? WHAT WOULD WENDY DO?!

ReineDeSaba · 22/12/2011 15:03

Have finally caught up with you all..such prolific posting!was out last night with DHs fashion friends for festive celebrations so sat oppostite a chanel handbag and next to the sparkly AH!

Am starting to fade so not sure if I will still be awake at 9 for big reveal,or if I am will be sporting faded pjs!

love the namechange mim hope you are having a lovely birthday..am cross with your mum on your behalf and hoping your DH has turned his frown upside down by the time he returns.

annie what a lovely suprise from DD..I can see where she gets her thoughtfulness from Smile

fritzi have I missed your goodbyes..hope you have an amazing trip.

yummy hope you can settle down and enjoy your hols now..I asked DH the other day if he thought I would ever shred again..silence..and I thought I was just taking a sabbatical from Jillian..

I am clueless about the jeans you are talking about..in fact I am kind of done with trousers at the moment..I'm really enjoying dresses at the moment, though that might just be the novelty of not bfing this winter.

ReineDeSaba · 22/12/2011 15:10

bloss you are amazingly organised for Xmas..very impressive..and I bought liquid glucose last year when you made that fudge and still haven't got round to making it Blush

amber 27!!! please don't sit next to me at the next meet up Wink b.t.w ants has the most amazing skin..definitely no haggyness going on there

IceCreamCastles · 22/12/2011 15:55

Grin at the liquid glucose reine. That's something i'd do.

Have just decorated the christmas cake. Have to say it is a triumph of edible glitter and imagination over baking ability Grin

AmberNectarine · 22/12/2011 15:59

reine think you've hit the nail on the head there with my trouser obsession - breastfeeding does make dresses a challenge! Sure when I stop I will go dress-mad like you, though am quite a casual dresser so who knows.

Took DCs to office childrens party today (so glad DH works there too as was carnage and wouldn't have coped alone!) wore new navy agnes, s/s pearl cashmere jumper, nude ballerinas and my McQ scarf. Felt appropriately dressed amongst a sea of Boden (I like Boden, but head to toe not a great look!)

Sent DH (who was pathetically hungover) and DS packing and hopped in a cab to Knightsbridge with DD to stock up on a few more bargain Vince Ts at HN. Also grabbed last minute pair of C/E skinnies, which I will try on at home. £40 - rude not to! Planning a serious bit of abstinence after the sales. 1 good purchase per month and that.is.it. First up will be an Arty ring I think, tried some on today and they are gorgeous!

Did I mention my sodding Michael Kors watch broke on first wear and cannot be repaired! Back to NAP it goes, who have now sold out! Luckily local dept store has them (and slightly cheaper!)

ny we are watching that on Xmas eve! Enjoy your lazy(ish) day!

pickledsiblings · 22/12/2011 16:47

Happy birthday MIM. Glad that you know what's been making you so unwell - get some fillet steak into you woman Grin. Is your DS excited about the new soon to be born baby? Love the pact that you and Bloss have made re: OHs and fighting, there are a few more of us on here that could sign up I'm sure. >

Icey, edible glitter, ooooh. Did you nick that idea from an M&S ad?

Ollie, I second Annie as today's Christmas Fairy. So lovely to pass things on rather than Ebay them. I do think that that is one of the down sides of Ebay.

Bloss, I am Envy at your choice of things to wear. I say change your top half way through the day both times and that way you'll get to wear everything Smile. I bet I know where your DH is going with the 50:50s and the cost per wear Wink.

Can you believe I have been doing new job related admin most of the day - arrrgh! I hate admin!!

Looking forward to this evening. I have an inkling who my pressie is from based on timings but I'm saying nothing .

Purchased this gorgeous tomatoey red colour Mango cardigan to add to my 'teacher bright' wardrobe. Tried loads of Hobbs and Jaeger silk/cashmere mix ones on but they all looked too mumsy on me according to DH - the one he liked was the cheapest Hmm.

Sorry for the massive post - see you all later Smile.

pickledsiblings · 22/12/2011 17:05

Meant to say Classic, your Christmas day outfit sounds lovely, very demure.

MidnightinMoscow · 22/12/2011 17:50

DH came home and did apologise. We had a hug and made up, not worth ruining my birthday over.

He was very generous though, in the shape of some Whistles vouchers and also this from DS which smells devine.

My lovely friends also got me some House of Fraser vouchers, so I have a nice little collection waiting for me once I am back on the shopping circuit!

My parents got me a nice set of pregnancy smellies from Neals Yard too.

DH is doing DS's dinner and bath which is a wonderful gift in itself. Then its a glass of wine and a Thai takeaway whilst watching TOWIE from the other night - bliss. Smile

amber your outfit sounds great from today - can you link to the pearl jumper please?

emo I love that blouse - it sold out when I wanted to get it. Every now and then one comes up on Ebay, I should keep my eyes open for one.

Lovely colour cardigan pickled, I think DS knows there is another baby coming, he was wide-eyed yesterday when the midwife was listening in on the baby. Yes, to steak , I feel like I could eat a whole cow at the moment.

reine I can assure you that I will be wearing PJ's come 9pm.Smile

Back later.

MidnightinMoscow · 22/12/2011 17:51

Oh and DH bought a cake for me.

I obviously cannot reveal how many candles were on it. Grin

blossoming · 22/12/2011 18:34

I'm glad he applogied mim. Would it work to say 'sorry I spoilt your surprise'. We can always come back and rant on here!
In the spirit of being nice to DH on what was, ostensibly, his worst kind of nightmare, he got to choose my outfit and he chose the WC top. Was boiling, but managed to smile sweetly. My uncle had to ask someone who I was! Boots attracted lots of comment.
Back later.

rufus101 · 22/12/2011 19:05

Yes, to AH trip Carciofi!
God, it is sheer hell trying to do food shopping with 3 DC in tow. Sheer hell.
Foolproof fudge *Bloss? Well, all I'll say this this food was clearly very ingenious and made a hames of it! I will give it another go tonight!
Glad DH apologised MIH and your birthday sounds lovely.
Hope I get back later for the the big reveal.

Russianred · 22/12/2011 20:11

Hi all, not had a chance to read properly, but glad Emo and Amber had lovely trips to town and that your lunch went well Bloss. Sounds like DH has made up for things a little MiM, glad you got such lovely presents; you deserve them.

Am checking in now with my SS as we are having a meal with our lovely friends having just arrived and it seems churlish to disappear with my IPad. So, wrapped inn black paper with a lovely pink ribbon is.... The lovely Kerastase shampoo that has been recommended many times and that I keep on going on about wanting. Well done Santa; thank you very, very much. Am thrilled!

Great present Red, can't wait to hear everyone elses. Opening minus 30 mins!!!

Glad it went ok today Bloss, funny about your Uncle.

DH home tired and grumpy but in the spirit of this thread today, im not drawing attention to it. Watching Elf, v funny.

Back from the school Christmas dinner, am wiped out but cakes, shortbread and hotdogs went down well. Its a nice setup: kids have buffet dinner & games in their classrooms whilst parents have mulled wine, sausage and mash in the gym. DS1 looked so grown up in his new shirt and trendy scarf and he even brought a chocolate home with him to give to his brother. Long may it last.

Portia4 · 22/12/2011 20:49

Happy birthday MIM delighted that all is sorted with DH.
Leather trousers arrived from ASOS, had a sneaky look at them but resealed package after Mims experience!
Am sitting with glass of bubbly and DDs awaiting the big reveal! DH out at lunch in the yacht club, I don't think that we'll see him any time soon!
Bloss Outfit sounds great, I too have found that the OTK knee boots do attract attention!
I still need to do the big shop in the supermarket, I think that there's nothing for it but an early morning visit tomorrow!
DD1&2 were at the choral service at DD3's school today, they are now talking about how awkward it is when they meet old teachers and don't know how to address them, the teachers say to use their Christian names rather than Sir or Miss, at their age though it seems such a big deal!

pickledsiblings · 22/12/2011 20:53

Portia, lol at you resealing the Asos package. Funny about your DDs and their teacher too Smile.

Waiting patiently.

MidnightinMoscow · 22/12/2011 20:54

I'm here too...

ApuskiMcClusky · 22/12/2011 20:54

Fab present red! Have a great evening.

Happy birthday MIM (liking the new name!). Glad to hear things have settled down with your DH and that you're having a nice day.

Pickled, you're doing a sterling job of compiling your working wardrobe, all looks very thought through and 'together'!

OllieinOrange · 22/12/2011 20:55

IceCreamCastles · 22/12/2011 21:01

MidnightinMoscow · 22/12/2011 21:02

Someone kindly sent me a beautiful navy angora cap. Its beautiful, and even DH thinks it suits me! Also is a pretty gold star decoration to go on the tree.

Thank you SS, its lovely.
