gngngn I cannot find a decent pair of ballet pumps anywhere in my size.

Tory Burch without the logo would be good.

Same venue as last time sounds great Ollie, if others are happy with it?

AmberNectarine · 05/01/2012 11:20

I like the TB ones Marsha but agree logo is flashy. Will wheel out usual suggestions; Bloch, French sole, pretty ballerinas, R&B. Or Repetto if you want to spend big bucks?

annie I tried on the Stealth. Not for me, bit shiny and emphasised my sausage legs. However I imagine you are not as blessed by the gods of thigh so will probably look fabulous. I like the look of the worn hickory.

MIM think I know the dress you mean, and have tried it on myself. Matronly is exactly the word!

I'd be thrilled if we were the same size Annie - you have a gorgeous little figure. Agree that £80 is far too much for leggings, no matter how comfortable. Shame about 17th, but seeing you on the Sunday would be lovely.

Not sure if funding will allow hotel sleepover for me, but will look into it once somewhere has been decided on. Can certainly be around for Saturday/Sunday and stay with family/friends.

MiM second Ollie in that no expectations is a good thing. We stayed in for 3 days with the potty and lots of games and had it cracked quite quickly. The train du jour was DS' incentive.

I am champing at the bit to get into IKEA Ollie - impressed with your reserve!

Oh fab thanks Anniemac! Great sale price too, excellent.

I have zero knowledge of the agnes... Grin

AntPants1 · 05/01/2012 11:30

Marsha. Have a look at office, jones and Zara too.

MarshaBrady · 05/01/2012 11:36

Thanks Ants, will check them out too.

MarshaBrady · 05/01/2012 11:39

Just remembered have to take dh's Christmas present back to Liberty as they left the security tag on, need it removed. Will have a look on Regent St.

MidnightinMoscow · 05/01/2012 12:12

What about R&B Marsha? They don't have a great range of colours like French Sole but they are so comfortable. Although you do have a French Sole and Pretty Ballerina's on Brook Street, not too far from Liberty.

Agree that £80 is a lot for leggings - they'd need to be pretty 'wow' really.

ollie and red thanks for the potty training tips, yes to expecting to worse and anything else is a bonus. Grin

Very jealous of all the MU talk - but given its my due date on the 16th, I think I'll vicariously listen to outfit plans etc...I'm sure it will be a fabulous event though.

Yes Amber that's exactly what I mean. Given that 'matronly' is a look I have to pull off during work hours, its not something I try to re-create in normal life. Smile

Hi all,
Have had a quiet morning staying in waiting for people to come and collect old kitchen- sold it on eBay for £310! Better than shelling out for a skip Grin.

Dd invented a very productive game of wrapping lots of her toys up (in towels, bath mat, flannels etc) and delivering them to me to open. Kept her busy for ages- lovely!

Agree £80 is a bit much for leggings Annie. Like your other purchases though.

Thought you wanted Lanvin ballet pumps marsha Wink

Good top ollie. How on earth did you get in and out so quickly? I find it swallows up most of the day.

Yes to topshop trousers being true to size Red.

Good luck with the potty training MiM. I found it much easier in the early stages than i'd anticipated but agree you can't do much else for the first few days. Disposable changing mats useful for pushchair and carseat.

Hello all! Just had a nice catch up, lying on my bed. Feeling very tired and uncomfortable but lovely mum has just whisked DS away for the afternoon so I can have a rest then see the midwife. Convinced I'm going to be early this time, but that might be wishful thinking. Didn't dare watch One Born last night!

Have been smiling at the stories of drunk DHs. Hope your row is forgotten now annie. I actually quite like it when DH is a bit drunk; he's all smiley and silly and miles away from his usual serious 'big boss man' persona.

Shopping wise, my Anna order has arrived and is v disappointing. The Day Birger cardigan is wonderfully cosy and would look fab on a tall lady but it just drowns me. I look like I've just wrapped a big grey blanket around me, simply swathes of fabric... Not good! So that's going back and I'm a bit underwhelmed by the black stretchy dress too. Hard to tell with the bump but I'm never sure about a cowl neck on me (don't they require breasts to work?!) and the fabric feels very flimsy. So I'm getting a refund and have finally ordered the roxy in cream!

I also made an impetuous Topshop purchase yesterday on my iphone: the same spotty trousers as you red! Wanted the other ones before so had to try them. Also got Wendy's faux leather panel leggings to try and some pink leopard slippers here. Agree about the price of those leggings annie but I do really value a good pair of leggings / jeggings / treggings / jodhpurs. Anything thick and tight and I'm there basically! Have lived in my maternity ones, so much comfier than maternity jeans which seem to both dig in and slip down on me. I do think leggings work much better in winter than summer though. Love them with long boots and big cosy tops but always feel a bit 'teenage girl' when I try them with tunics or dresses and sandals in summer.

By the way, could you link to your j brand jodhpurs sometime please amber? They sound right up my street! Can't believe I haven't tried Agnes yet, might go and look at that HoF eBay site next. The mavericks look good but a bit ££. I can't wait to wear my hot pink j brands post bump. I've often wondered about pale pink but think they would be harder to style ( would still be tempted though, for the right price!)

I enjoyed reading about WIT.s Christmas too and also LibertyLondonGirl in MArrakech and Wendy's cold weather looks. Great picture of Miranda Kerr on RedCarpetFashionAwards here too.

Enjoying reading about potty training rather less! DS is probably about ready at 2.5 but I'm not! Want to put it off for a few months till spring and we've adjusted to life with baby. Is that bad? Good luck mim though, impressed that you're going for it!

pickled thinking about you back in the classroom. Hopefully you're finding it exhilarating as well as exhausting. Bet you look gorgeous in your brights; would love to hear about your outfits sometime.

Hello to everyone else, sounds like you're coping well with back to work / bad weather / diets and all the other January joy! I'm jealous of you notyummy with your 40th trip and Oz to look forward to. I'm really looking forward to the Nottm MU though, and hopefully will make a London one later in the year, fingers crossed!

Sorry for epic post!

blue2711 · 05/01/2012 14:23

Miranda Kerr

AmberNectarine · 05/01/2012 14:37

Jodhpurs, blue.

I have had some great, v thick leggings from TS recently. £18, come in various colours. Fab.

carciofi · 05/01/2012 14:37

Red, your BIL sounds truly awful.

Marsha, I love my Russell and Bromley ballet shoes. Mostly wearing boots right now though.

Blue, DD was three when I toilet trained her. I couldn't face doing it while I was pregnant. She got it really quickly. Enjoy your rest.

MiM, your band made me laugh! I am using this Clarins eyecream for day and this Liz Earle one for night.

After wanting this blouse for ages, I didn't really like it that much in reality so going to return. As I have also saved £40 by not having the babysitter in (grrr) I felt justified in ordering the bright blue J Brands to be sent to my friend in the US, she's back in London next week. Resistance was futile. I think I'll ask her for the Mavericks next time. :)

AmberNectarine · 05/01/2012 14:51

Oh and blue, don't worry about second labour. I was worries after a bad first experience but it was actually a total breeze (even though baby much bigger!) and I think that is generally the case. Really hope you get your VBAC!

AntPants1 · 05/01/2012 15:00

blue I agree with amber I found labour much much better second time round. Not only was it easier and quicker but I knew what to expect, what I could and could not cope with and mentally was much more prepared. You will be fine!

carciofi · 05/01/2012 15:04

Another one who had a much better time second time round and I was absolutely petrified after the first time.
