New thread.

Hi midnightblue you should de-lurk! I do really like the TS leather jacket but I am very short; on a person of normal height it would be very cropped. Nice leather and a flattering tight fit. It's here.
But I do still keep thinking about the roxy!

midnightblue I have this oasis one as the fit of the roxydidnt work for me, and there were a few too many buckles. It is slightly cropped on me (5'5 ish) and beautifully soft. Can really recommend. Also second the de-lurking!

Hope you have all had a lovely festive period. My little one has been a real pest for sleeping. Has been waking up screaming at 2am a lot lately. Time for her own bed methinks.

Will report back with sale results later.

blue2711 · 27/12/2011 08:55

amber thanks for looking for CE leopards for me. I've had no luck online either and the snakeskins all seem to be sold out online in my size too. Grrr! No purchases at all yet here, although lots of browsing. I'm drawing up a list of ideas for what to do with my lovely DH Christmas bonus... (not sure it wil stretch to everything!). So far:
Smythson pink leather diary or more probably a notebook
New hairdryer - parlux?
CE leopard skinnies if I (or amber!) can find them
Zara gold tote here
Mulberry Rosie in pink leopard
Marc Jacobs make up bag / AH make up bag?
Marc Jacobs baby bag?

Seems a bit bag heavy! Also that I'm a bit short of ideas about clothes for spring.

Two parties yesterday and one today, although today's is a 3rd birthday party admittedly. It's just lovely spending lots of time as a family and having DH at home for a few days. He's been doing the cooking and lots of things with DS; they're currently finishing off the new GLTC kitchen while I lie in bed! Think I'm going to wear black skinnies and long boots and then layer a white vest under a long lacy purple/blue top I received for Christmas from a friend. Probably with a dark grey loose whistles blazer.

Hope everyone is still having a lovely time.

Oh, ps can I anyone recommend a good primer? My Nars one has just ran out and it's nice but pricey.

OllieinOrange · 27/12/2011 08:58

Morning. DH back to work today Sad, boys and I having a lazy day at home.
Went on a long walk with DH's family yesterday which was nice. SIL does that thing of standing and walking really close to you - has no concept of personal space, most strange and v irritating! Nice to get out in the fresh air though.

Glad everyone had lovely Christmases - wonder how Fritzi's was in SA? Sounds like the W&A DH's did well this year.
Good work in the sales Amber - just been looking at the DM pics of Selfridges - wow!

DH and I had a chat about holidays (I know, its not even 2012 yet)) and decided to forgo a family February one (so he can go sailing) and had a week at the end of May instead. Am torn between a week in UK (ie the boys get to have a really English holiday like the ones I used to have) or a week somewhere sunny like Spain or Portugal in a house/villa. Have a few great options for UK but would be great if any of you had any recommendations/links for houses in Spain or Portugal?

OllieinOrange · 27/12/2011 09:00

forego - gah my spelling!

blue2711 · 27/12/2011 09:01

Sorry, me again! Just to say I've loved reading about all your families and happy Christmas times too. Very pleased about your DH's work, annie. Commiserations to those with poorly waking children too. I have been utterly spoilt with DS but it will be a very different story in a few weeks time!

OllieinOrange · 27/12/2011 09:30

After clicking on Ants lovely blouse link yesterday, I had a look at the new season stuff on the Massimo Dutti website and they have a gold/champagne skirt, not too different from Wendy's here

notyummy · 27/12/2011 09:55

Ollie - I have been eyeing up this place in Portugal for a while. Perfect blend of children friendly stuff without being at all tacky/over crowded. Looks great.

I am parka shopping. What do we think about this?

Glad you had such a lovely Christmas Annie.

AmberNectarine · 27/12/2011 10:09

Running in like a saddo to say I am trying out Wendy's 'double rainbow' scarf look, and I love it!

carciofi · 27/12/2011 10:17

Ollie, I hate when people do that.

Blue, I am going to order a Parlux later today. The Marc Jacobs changing bag and the Mulberry Rosie are similar, aren't they?

Nice parka, NY. That resort in Portugal looks great, I have bookmarked.

My little DD slept last night, I think she is teething again. She woke at 6.30 and we watched a programme about Jane Austen together. Now making bread to sweeten DH so I can disappear to the sales. :) I am considering a navy AH bag but only if I really love it.

Hope your DD2 is on the mend, Annie. Sorry about your brother's friend. I also want to spend a lot less this year which means less browsing, and I want to spend more time reading, getting my CV in order, etc. Might need that book!

My neighbour is back in the US and has emailed me to ask if I want anything back so going to browse the US websites now. She's already bring DH back the new Kindle. The not spending doesn't start until 1st Jan!

carciofi · 27/12/2011 10:18

bringing, not bring. Yeesh.

notyummy · 27/12/2011 10:34

Have just ordered this dress and this as well as the parka. Thought they were worth a punt on free deleivery - will see!!

OllieinOrange · 27/12/2011 11:27

Thanks NY - that link is just what we are looking for! Like the idea of having one of the town houses esp given how fussy DS2 is with restaurant food! DH likes too (he's sitting in an empty office so Im sending links!)
Will just have to try and squeeze in a long WE to UK as well - love the idea of us having a real English bucket and spade holiday in a house metres from a beach but after last summers rainy holiday in France, I want some guaranteed sun!

Just made up for my lack of sale shopping and ordered a BBH via Amazon. Read the thread in Chat and had one of those "I must have one now" moments!

blossoming · 27/12/2011 11:37

Great minds think alike carciofi. The first book to make it onto my kindle is Camus' l'Etranger. Going to read my way through the A level French reading list!

MidnightinMoscow · 27/12/2011 11:51

Hello all.

Annie sounds like you had a great Christmas, sorry to hear that you have had bad news from home though. Wonderful to hear how happy you are about having DH around though - you deserve it. I will be orderin that book ASAP!

Ollie Personally, I'd go for the break with the best weather. That resort looks great doesn't it. BBH has changed my life, believe me.

carciofi and blue - I have been using my Parlux now for a few days. I have the 3200 compact. Its very powerful, but a bit heavier than my old dryer so I'd be cautious with getting a bigger one. Love the long lead on it though. Happy sales hunting.

Like that parka NY

blue I have the LM primer with extra hydration. Very good.

One thing I must rave about the everyone is this foundation brush. It is cheap as chips - but is the best brush I have used, without doubt.

OllieinOrange · 27/12/2011 12:40

Forgot to ask - did anyone receive any Confused presents this year? Mine was a pvc Harrods shopping bag - from my Mum.....

Fleecy · 27/12/2011 12:55

I got a good de-bobbler which would be a bit Hmm to some people but I wanted one!

Have popped that foundation brush in my basket - what a bargain!

ollie I know you said Spain or Portugal but we went to Gozo last year and stayed here. It was gorgeous and we had a fantastic holiday. Really relaxing place, some lovely (and cheap!) places to eat, great diving and swimming etc

Like the links ny and can particularly see you in that anchor print dress. V. you!

blue2711 · 27/12/2011 13:21

Really really like that parka notyummy. Will try the LM primer, thanks.

I'm wondering whether the parlux hairdryers are not the best option for me as my hair is really fine and dries really quickly. Don't like the sound of something heavy. Perhaps the travel one.

I would only get either the Marc Jacobs changing bag or the mulberry Rosie and the latter would have more longevity... I could use my old storksak and feel virtuous (sort of!).

I just tried to buy that gorgeous sequin massimo dutti skirt ollie and it's already sold out! V disappointed. If anyone sees one in an xs could they perhaps let me know? No stores near me.

I wish I'd got a de-bobbler.

OllieinOrange · 27/12/2011 13:51

blue - the MD skirt is from the new Spring Summer 2012 range so will probably come back into stock so keep looking? Its so, so nice. Will look out for you when Im next in the shop tho.

Im looking at the Parlux 3500 compact ionic one which they say is the lightest - I need to compare weights with my existing one - Im only used to light hairdryers. My hair sounds the same as yours - dries so quickly. Look at Lookfantastic.com for good Parlux deals.

Fleecy that villa looks lovely but I fear the flights from here would make it too exxy - there isn't the competition between low cost airlines here which keep flight prices annoyingly high. Have bookmarked tho, thank you

Nice dresses NY - Id seen the anchor print one in blue with a bird print and liked the style v much.

pickledsiblings · 27/12/2011 14:44

Ollie, we stayed in this villa in Andalucia at Easter a few years ago and both DH and I would recommend it. DS1 wanted to holiday in the mountains so it is quite high up and inland a bit but very lovely although pool is not heated.

AntPants1 · 27/12/2011 17:22

ollie I have fine hair and a BBH. Love it

pickledsiblings · 27/12/2011 17:28

Maxmara 50:50s, £285 from Matches (for the small of foot, IT37 which I think is a 4.5).

pickledsiblings · 27/12/2011 17:35

Red, coloured jeans for you, not sure if they're your colour but they are a good price.
