New thread.

OP posts:

MIM oh that is funny . I was so nervous if they had pulled the hairy face line with me I would have bolted Grin. The red brow thing is odd I agree.

Amber I wanted Lancôme doll eyes but stood in front of Chanel thinking it was Lancôme. Then thought oh well may as well go for it.

The item, I wish I could link but only one left in my size and am hoping it will be there. I was despairing at most of the stuff, so little left and few sizes. But good I did the trudge before they get here. No way my parents would last that long shopping. Need to be quick!

Evening all! Had a good day today, by 10 am , I had been in to work and on to two supermarkets and had a blow dry! Imagine my surprise when I got back home and DH presented me with a fab pair of oxblood leather trousers, they really are nice on, similar in fit to the Agnes, I love themXmas Wink
I had a similar experience to the threading when my beautician asked me if she would remove my moustash! I had to ask her if I had a moustash, and kept checking myself in the mirror for the rest of the day!

ApuskiMcClusky · 23/12/2011 21:43

NJC, great first impressions all round!

Portia, wow at the leather trousers, they will look fab on you.

Finally found the stockings, no need for a panic visit to John Lewis after all! But I have only wrapped 4 presents in the last hour, I will be up all night. Do you think I would be better next year if I took up origami?!

MidnightinMoscow · 23/12/2011 21:43

Thing is, the hairy face incident is the sort of thing that happens to me all the time.

The last time I went to get new glasses, I was looking around the store trying various pairs on. Now, admittedly I only get new glasses every 3/4 years as I normally wear contacts. Obviously I was wearing glasses this day to have an eye test.

So, I was happily trying some pairs on and one of the assistants keep bringing me frames to try. At one point I put my own glasses on and she came up to me and said, "oh no, don't go for them, they do not suit you at all". I had to explain to her that they were my own glades that I'd been wearing for the last 4 years. Grin.

It's all karma though. When I was 13 I worked in a hairdressers washing hair. One day I thought I'd use my initiative and ask this women who was sitting in the waiting area if she'd like to come through and get her hair washed.

Turns out she'd has her hair done and was waiting for a taxi. Blush.

Zembo · 23/12/2011 21:59

Hello ladies. I enjoyed your big SS reveal and was particularly impressed by the beautiful wrapping Smile

Bloss I've just made the dough for the pistachio and cranberry biscuits, looking forward to baking them in the morning. Also you mentioned my Heathrow ordeal from last year - it has indeed been a whole year (won't ever forget it as it was on DS's 2nd birthday) - I still haven't forgiven Heathrow for being so utterly rubbish. AND hope you don't mind me copying but I have a size 6 Roxy in my possession Grin Whistles customer service is great. I haven't had a proper trying on session yet but it is a beautiful jacket. I don't know if I'll end up keeping it as I've spent loads recently (clothes, teeth whitening and house renovation) so hard to justify.

Red I use the kerastase elixir on wet hair pre drying and also on dry hair to generally make it more manageable and smooth. I've got medium thickness hair, I'd love to have very thick hair like Mim I'm also loving colored jeans, I've hardly worn indigo ones at all this year.

Marsha lovely make up buys, I use the LM tinted moisturiser too.

Zembo · 23/12/2011 22:10

Apusky you most definitely do not have a hairy face - I (with my body hair paranoia) would have noticed Grin.

Portia oxblood leathers sound amazing and you must have been up and about early today.

blossoming · 23/12/2011 22:13

I'm sure you will rock it zembo! Do we all have the LM tinted moisturiser? After lunch with ants in HN recently we went to the beauty section and I bought a LM mascara. Has olive oil in it apparently. It's nice.

blue2711 · 23/12/2011 23:24

I have the LM tinted moisturiser too! And love it. amber I have just started using the YSL one and it's great; I was using Chanel before and so far I marginally prefer YSl but am a bit fickle with mascaras. Would like to try lancôme doll lash next but that mac one sounds good too. Hair stuff I'm not too good on - my silly hair is so fine that I worry that any product will just weigh it down and make it look greasy. But I highlight it and use my ghds to curl it more often than I should so really should get into kerastase etc. Some good recommendations here today, thanks, will write them down.

Also thanks for the thumbs up to the Marc Jacobs baby bag. I want to get it but don't know whether to hold out for further mywardrobe reductions...

zembo you have the size 6 roxy that I managed to resist! Do like my TS alternative but still have a pang every time bloss or red mention theirs... By the way your outfit sounded fantastic today bloss.

amber thanks so much for the offer re the CEs. I will PM you my number. I'm only guessing at size 24 as usually a size 6 so could come a cropper! Think would prefer in grey if possible.

By the way, have lost track but the person who linked to the mulberry Rosie I have you to blame for yet another yearning! Love it in the pink leopard. What with that and the Marc Jacobs and the 50 50s and the CELliotts I am starting to worry! Must get back selling on eBay again soon!

OllieinOrange · 24/12/2011 08:16

Enjoying the make up talk. Another fan of LM tinted moisturiser here. I brought a BE starter kit last Feb and its all still in its packaging. Need to watch the dvd of how to tap, tap, buff etc. One of my new years resolutions is to wear more make up during the day, sat in the hairdressers chair this week gazing at a really old, tired face, not good.

I have a grey YSL mascara, its ok. Wish MAC would do one too.

Have been looking at Parlux hairdryers. Not sure I could handle a heavy one - their lightest one is the 3500 ceramic iconic one which is a possibility. My hair drys really quickly as its so fine and straight.

The John Lewis sale starts today online at 5pm.

Whats everyone up to today? DH just off to the market for the veg run!

carciofi · 24/12/2011 08:26

Good morning. DD1 and I are up doing the ham. She is wondered why I am sticking nails (cloves) in it.

Portia, leather trousers sound fab.

Blue, it was me and apparently the Mulberry sale starts online today. :) Some Mulberry is discounted on the Harrods website but not that bag.

Marsha, I am often afraid to post links.

The red wallet I liked has sold out, grr. I have an old red Prada wallet, maybe I should just stick with that so I have some money left to put in it!

Bloss, I think the Timberlands would be a good addition to the Bloss wardrobe. Hopefully Amazon will discount them.

I have LM tinted moisturiser too but I prefer Giorgio Armani tinted moisturiser, will go back to it next time I need to repurchase.

Have a lovely Christmas Eve!

Emo76 · 24/12/2011 08:32

hi all sneaking on to say no sign of the Anya Hindmarch sale starting online. There's a store about 25 mins walk from my house but I doubt I will get the chance to walk over today as the inlaws en masse arrive for 3 nights (halo emoticon?) this afternoon and there's so much to do.

Dh has gone to tip and then to pick up turkey, DD2 is rampaging and emptying out drawers and cupboards etc DD1 is (at nearly 8) beside herself with excitement. Fun times but I'd love it more if it was just me, Dh and 2 DDs and not the rest of the clan. I know I know bah humbug but I find it overwhelming. Anyway happy Christmas eve!

Emo76 · 24/12/2011 08:33

carciofi I mean to say, that wallet is new season so bound to find it somewhere else in time? Love it by the way!

MarshaBrady · 24/12/2011 08:44

I couldn't sleep until 1.00am last night. Why? Because I am so unsure about my new eyebrows argh. Did any one else feel like this when they first got it done?

I have dark, strong brows and now they are shaped. I assume they did a good job, so it's not that. But I do feel all out of kilter. Where do people go in London? Really good place would be great.

I really need a new wallet. I like the AH Carciofi. I looked in Smythson and Loewe yesterday. I would like a nice one to last for years.

Bloss I tried on the LM mascara and loved it. But for some reason I didn't get it. I am very close to stressing over small differences. Such as buying Black Violet eyeliner and not black.

Ollie we are doing last minute stuff today then flying later. No doubt I'll see some more make up I like at the airport.

AmberNectarine · 24/12/2011 08:51

blue the Mulberry Rosie was me obviously, enabler extraordinaire! Sale starts online at 2pm today. Fight you for one... Wink

AmberNectarine · 24/12/2011 08:54

Oh look Carciofi and I are both taking the blame - split it 50/50? No pun intended [Christmas cheer]

I am literally giddy with excitement re. Mulberry, DH trying, and failing, to manage my expectations...

OllieinOrange · 24/12/2011 08:54

The black Mulberry Oversized Taylor is down to from 950 to 549pounds on the Harrods website - wish I could find the grey one at that price

notyummy · 24/12/2011 09:10

Happy Christmas Eve all! I am taking notes re the make-up. The BE starter kit was on my wishlist and has now vanished so hopefully I will find it under the tree!!

Got to my mum and dads at 8pm last night. House looks v Christmassy (my mum loves Christmas and buys mags to find a 'theme' for her decorations each year. Silver and gold with a bird motif this year.) DDs room all done up with fairy lights and various santas for her - so sweet. She was beside herself with excitment.

MidnightinMoscow · 24/12/2011 09:16

Good morning.

Lovely to hear of everyone festive planning. We will be driving to my parents at lunchtime for a few nights. There will be a lot of teeth gritting over the next few days I'm sure.

NY Your parents house sounds lovely - and how exciting for DD.

Oh my goodness, the Mulberry sale. Not for me though, we are on a bit of a CC clearing mission at the moment. Boring, but needed. Grin

carciofi · 24/12/2011 09:19

Amber, it probably was you. Your wishlists are often mine! I like the pinky one.

Emo, have a good time. Anya Hindmarch haven't even stocked the red wallet yet (I've checked).

Marsha, I am sure you look gorgeous.

AmberNectarine · 24/12/2011 09:21

yay or nay?

MrsCampbellBlack · 24/12/2011 09:23

Emo - it didn't start till nearly midnight on xmas eve last year (would it be terribly bad to check first thing on christmas morning ) Blush

Carciofi - oslos on sale on mih website and voguediscount gets an additional 25% off.

carciofi · 24/12/2011 09:41

Amber, yay.

MrsCB, thanks! I think I'll get them in grey. I'll be checking the AH sale tomorrow am (no doubt I'll be up first with the baby so why not!).
