in black

She does wear short dresses but normally with thick tights or leggings

I'm a bit conflicted probably because I don't want her to grow up

With opaque tights or leggings it would look nice.

missmiss · 04/12/2011 14:28

It'd be fine with thick tights/leggings. It's pretty!

grumplestilskin · 04/12/2011 14:31

yes, I think it would look ridiculous on an adult, its pretty but quite girly looking, so long as it's with dark tights it'd be fine IMO

JaxTellerIsMyFriend · 04/12/2011 14:32

I like it. opaque tights or leggings lovely.

sillymillyb · 04/12/2011 14:33

As others have said - with black tights it would be lovely. Think its about how you accessorise to be honest (though feel free to ignore me as my sense of fashion is severely limited!)

KatyMac · 04/12/2011 14:50

Thanks - we are going on a cruise & she needs some very cheap clothes

OP posts:
mycatsaysach · 04/12/2011 14:52

yes its lovely my dd14 would love it

ameliagrey · 04/12/2011 15:33

if she can get round the bra straps business- needs strapless.

persoanlly I don't like it as a dress on anyone. Sad

KatyMac · 04/12/2011 15:39

You think it needs strapless?

OP posts:
ameliagrey · 04/12/2011 15:42

The back shot is a bit revealing if she wears a normal bra, IMO.

KatyMac · 04/12/2011 16:06

I keep coming back to this & I'm not sure

Maybe a racer back?

thaliablogs · 04/12/2011 17:05

no sorry, it looks like a nightie. Not a nice one, either.

jollyoldstnickschick · 04/12/2011 17:07

I dont like the neckline its not going to look right with black tights either.

Enjoy your cruise x

your DD is very pretty Katy, and this dress wouldn't do her justice!

Ilovepigs · 04/12/2011 18:28

Yes-if her name is Lolita.

KatyMac · 04/12/2011 18:41

Babydoll - I knew there was something about it

ExpectoPatronum - thanks

Ilovepigs - do you have teenagers?

Katy - I think it's a bit of a nightmare for a girl your DD's age tbh. If you are on a cruise she probably isn't going to want thick tights/leggings with it )and personally don't think it would look right with that neck line anyway) and without those she's going to be flashing her knicks all the time as you basically have to stand up straight all the time when wearing a dress in that style - which is all a bit tedious and unlikely at her age! The only thing it 'might' look ok with (and the S&B girls may shoot me?!) is some 3/4 length white leggings?

Get0rf · 04/12/2011 18:52

I think it is OK - I would never choose to wear it myself, but is suitable for a 14 year old I think. It would look daft with tights though.

Is she very tall? It may come up very short if you are tall (hence why me and dd, both 6 footers, can rarely buy short dresses) but if your dd is of average height hopefully it will not be too revealing.

Agree re the strapless bra.

KatyMac · 04/12/2011 18:56

I've given up on it - the baby doll nightie reference was what was troubling me

But I can't find what she wants atm

What about this? Some nice dresses on there, my dd likes republic.

Getorf, DD is not pale pink - it's not a good colour on her
