in black

She does wear short dresses but normally with thick tights or leggings

I'm a bit conflicted probably because I don't want her to grow up

Oh dear Math - that's not good

First dress is cut out already (last attempt is purple/green & being worn on my profile)

I am so pleased you have managed to sort something.

Poor you having to make it though, but I envy the fact youi can. I can't even sew a button on. Smile

I want you to make ME a dress!!

What a lucky DD you have!

KatyMac · 07/12/2011 21:25

I just posted in Arts & Crafts
"Lime green A-line dress with an black/green appliqué leaf on the breast with a black green band at the hem (how do you size up an age 10 pattern to an age 14 one?)

Some scratchy black & silver which is 'just' long enough for a tunic

dogstooth check as a wrap around skirt (no zip - yipee)

Purple satin dress (like a pinafore top with a gently gathered skirt)

& I'm having the rust as a (possibly princessline) longish smartish dress
the lilac dolly mixture as a sundress
the black/green as a sun dress too

Now the sensible amongst you might say they will never be done by Christmas & you know what - you're right!"

So guess what I'll be doing between now & Christmas?

You don't hang around, do you?

It's gorgeous! Your lucky DD.

Sloobreeus · 09/12/2011 05:53

It is rather nightie like. Girly, though. Also those models are probably very tall and the dress could be longer on your DD. It might be quite see-through. Am not keen on the style but it could look ok with opaque tights

FellatioNelson · 09/12/2011 06:01

I don't like it at all, but I am aware that it is what a teenager would like. Personally I cannot stand to see very very short skirts on, well anyone, really, but particularly girls that young UNLESS wearing opaques. Although my guess is that she will want to go bare-legged. Which is normal. But horrible.

KatyMac · 09/12/2011 07:28

I do hope you guys are talking about the dress I didn't buy rather than the one I made Wink

Thanks PastGrace
