I got stuck half in and half out of a Trinny and Tranny magic body thing once. The changing room had an air con issue (it was very hot). The more I struggled the sweatier I got and the more the Body thing clung on.

In the end my friend had to give me one of her blood pressure tablets Shock

CointreauVersial · 17/11/2011 22:51

Propose Herbs as chairperson of the crepey thread! All those in favour.......

Well, we need a bit of order. Wink

CointreauVersial · 17/11/2011 22:53

Nightsky - you may have been struggling, but at least you looked svelte and sculpted while you were doing it. Grin

beachyhead · 17/11/2011 22:54

Do you remember those body things we wore in our yoof....the hours I spent with my head between my legs in night club loos, trying to get my poppers done up Smile....fell over quite a few times, too....

I needed you ladies recently, just gone back to work after three years off....Cue, whole new wardrobe.....

CointreauVersial · 17/11/2011 23:55

Yup, I remember the dreaded "body". I had one with dodgy poppers, so if I sneezed, or stretched a bit too quickly, there would be a muffled pop and a slight expression of surprise.

Blackduck · 18/11/2011 06:21

:) at muffled pop and surprised expression (tick)
Toilet hugging (tick - remember drink convo up thread?)
Carried out of bathrooms (tick)

I would say that a nice cool tiled bathroom floor is just what the doctor ordered after a night of, say we say, over-indulgence...

Currently listening to 'tender flower' for umpteenth time. Piano exam today!

House a - looks like they don't want to sell - ruby you could be right re timing!

Stropperella · 18/11/2011 09:13

Hope the piano exam goes well, BD.

wilbur · 18/11/2011 10:23

I'm still laughing about Ruby's krypton factor dress moment - priceless. I once had such a bad hangover, I lay on the cool tiles of the loo floor at work Shock most of the following day. Oh yes, and bodies - I had one that didn't have poppers but I would always forget and then find out just as I was bursting for the loo and have to speed strip my top half to get out of it. That was back when I still had a pevic floor, now I would just wee down my leg.

Jan 20th should be ok for me, too. Smile

bigTillyMint · 18/11/2011 13:38

wilbur, Grin and Blush at thought of weeing down ones leg! You must have worked in a nice posh place to want to lie on the tiles in the loos - school toilets don't have that sort of appeal!

BD, fingers crossed for the piano exam - I can't imagine DD being forced into wanting to practice endlessly, even for the exam!

MrsSchadenfreude · 18/11/2011 21:37

I wore one of those body things under my wedding dress. It didn't have poppers between the legs. Oh no. It had hooks and eyes. I didn't realise this till I had a wee at the reception and couldn't do it up (going to the loo was a bit of an effort, due to huge train). My bridesmaid offered to help Grin but I just gave up a Much Too Difficult (was a bit pissed by then). So when I seductively undressed that night in the honeymoon suite, DH asked "Is it supposed to flap about like that?"

MrsSchadenfreude · 18/11/2011 22:45

Are you all out having fun? Grin

Blackduck · 19/11/2011 07:08

Sounds very romantic MrsS! (I was in bed when you posted that! I live the high life I do).
Dinner with the folks last night. Piano went ok won't hear for a couple of weeks.

I am off out to the Fawcett Society march. Grin

MrsSchadenfreude · 19/11/2011 18:52

The younger of the Shcadenfrauleins appears to have grown a good two inches in the past week, and announces yesterday that none of her jeans fit her (we are a no uniform school, so this was a bit of a crisis). So we duly tripped along to Gap this afternoon, after Soccer Mom duty for DD1, to find that they only had one pair of jeans in age 13. One pair, in the entire shop. And they were too big round the middle. So we pranced off to Monoprix and managed to get a pair there that were adequate. Unexciting, but they will do. I will brace myself for H & M next week to see if we can pick up another pair there.

MI, would you like a few more pairs of jeans for the Inferiorettes? Grin

I've never thought of DD2 as particularly tall - DD1 has always been the tall one - but noticed today that she is a good head taller than most of her friends. Apart from the very funky Sophia who sports blue streaks in her hair and a pierced nose (at the age of 10) Shock

Blackduck · 19/11/2011 23:09

Dp and I have just had a rare night out sans ds. This involved high level UN style negotions as 'we have had years going out without him before he was born' (says ds). I think we are doing something wrong here...

herbaceous · 19/11/2011 23:53

Just back from singing the Messiah. We rocked that church.

bigTillyMint · 20/11/2011 08:37

BDGrin Can't wait to hear what he says when you want to come along with him on a teenage night out!

MrsS, I can highly recommend Primarni superskinnies - all sorts of colours too. Do they have Primarni in Paris, or will you need a trip to London?WinkAnd Shock at Sophia - how will she dress/rebel when she is 15?!

motherinferior · 20/11/2011 13:04

MrsS: bring it on, any castoffs welcome here. DD1 is growing at a rate of knots too.

My jeans have gone through at the thigh Blush in a manner that is quite emphatically not seductive.

Current fair isle crush here. MrsS has talked me out of (in her characteristic soft-spoken manner) this.

bigTillyMint · 20/11/2011 13:15

I love the dressBlush

bigTillyMint · 20/11/2011 13:15

Is it the inner or outer thigh MI?

MrsSchadenfreude · 20/11/2011 13:25

Like the Fair Isle, MI. Much better than the beige chunky cableknit monstrosity.

I am spending this afternoon with a couple of MNetters - one has moved house and we are getting drunk with her helping her unpack. Grin

No Primarni in Paris, sadly. We did pick up a pair of black skinnies for her last weekend at the jumble sale at the American church. I think one more pair should do it.

motherinferior · 20/11/2011 16:06

Oh dear. I consumed too much wine Sunday lunch and, having watched last night's Strictly (slight connection) am embarrassing DP the Inferiorettes by playing Marc Bolan and dancing nodding along enthusiastically.

ruby, me too! Can we wobble together? (though I'm sure it would only be my gunt wobbling - I bet you haven't got one at all!)

Where are you coming from - CV and I met up at Waterloo (and then queued for hours for a cabAngry) last time - maybe we could have a nerve-calmer before we hit the party?Grin
